Well, latest dispatch from DSP's English correspondent is....
Stuart Pearce.....GONE
Paul Jewell....GONE
Thai despot who looks like a Bond villain.....ABOUT TO BUY MAN CITY
Next City manager.....RUMOURED TO BE SVEN GORAN ERIKSSON (winner of league championships in 3 different countries, so will do for me..)
Let's face it, anything is better than playing 19 games at home and setting a new all time record of scoring 10 (ten !) goals.

Are they a bunch of c**ksuckers or something? (My guess when their fans charge the pitch trying to get a game called).
thanks.
Their fans are. Plus, they spent way over their means 5 years ago and this is what they are getting for it.
Latest in the City sweepstakes is a either a Dutch dream team of Louis van Gaal as Dir of Football with Ronald Koeman in charge of team affairs, or Mark Hughes from Blackburn (who would get stick as an ex-MU, but done a good job there).
Either way, it's better than Fat Sam or the Moaning Scouser.
As for Leeds, rubba, what fsquid says. Fans are scum, tales of the board's profligacy in the 1999-2004 period are legion, plus they now have a pair of the biggest arseholes in the English game there (chairman Ken Bates and manager Dennis Wise).
And they are from Yorkshire - nuff said.

I'm disgusted about the appointment of Fat Sam at Newcastle. The misery will continue for at least a few more years.
People say Shearer isn't ready to manage, but the same wanks probably said the same about Keane when he was named at Sunderland, and he did a hell of a job this season.
Just let Big Al have at it. He can't be any worse than Bung Boy Allardyce.
I'm bracing for a thrilling new era of long balls and even longer waits for silverware at St. James' under Fat Sam. Oh, f*cking joy.
Take care,
PK

Fatso will probably go and win something now - lord knows he was lucky enough at Bolton.
Unfortunately, the mental image of Fat Sam and the odious Shepherd celebrating winning something is making me queasy.
Still, get ready for a load of horrible characters (a la Diouf, Anelka) and plenty of excuses....hopefully the bent get will remember not to use his son as an agent (if there's anyone watching) and that Newcastle is supposed to be a big club, so not trotting out the "League/refs/football is biased against the little clubs" crap that he was so fond of at Bolton.

I was just thinking about how much football has been on for the last year. It's not over year but it's been on a run for about 18 months without a serious break.
Start of the season in 06 to the World Cup and now ending the 07 season. Sure there are some Euro qualifiers but those are few and far between this summer.
I've logged a lot of hours watching football matches and most of those I didn't care what teams were playing.

Yes, 10 days after the World Cup ended, I was in Raleigh, NC watching my beloved Wednesday play a friendly. There certainly wasn't much break. Gold Cup and the Copa will take me through mid-July I hope!
I am on my way to London as I write this, can't wait to watch the FA Cup final and 90.000 fans screaming at the new Wembley Stadium. Chelsea has some key injuries including Ballack & Shevchenko, so ManU should be favourite but you never know...

I hope the game is a bore, because I wish I was there.
Have a good time, it should be something with Chelsea wanting revenge and in the New Wembley. Post some pics if you can grab some.

What a boring spectacle it was. 90.000 plus trying to cheer for what it was a poor exhibition of football considering what was at stake. The 1st half was painful to watch and although the pace did pick up a bit in the 2nd, no one seemed to want to take any chances. D. Drogba never scored vs the Man U and when he does for the Blues usually the score favours Chelsea as it did today. Too bad, I was hoping for a SO for some kind of excitement. But give Chelsea a lot credit for coming up win the win despite some key injuries. Ronaldo was invisible, ditto for Rooney, only J. Cole tried to spark the Reds a bit.
We'll see what comes of a future for F. Lampard as he's demanding more money at par at least with the likes of underachievers like Shevchenko & Ballack who are making more than what they're worth.
O. Hargreaves' wish comes true as he'll finally be joining MU next season. Going the other way is A. Robben who's had a difficult time in Chelsea with coach J. Mourinho.

I'm sorry that it was a boring draw. It's too bad despite the hype. And it's not like the hype overshadowed the game, the teams played such an uninspiring game of football that I almost wished the ref called off the game for being boring.
I don't know if you had a chance to listen to the BBC announcers but John Motson and his color guy (I forgot who at this moment) were basically saying that same thing all game.
Drogba's give and go was the only highlight. It was a very nice play though.
Hey Dave...any information on where Jose might go. His interview with the BBC almost made me think he was gone.

No info yet, though the reports here were that the Chelsea board were unhappy with only 2 minor trophies (ie no Premiership or Champs League).
He'll only go to Real, Barca or one of the top Italian teams. The dopey Russian peasant is bringing in some guy called Avram Grant as Tech Director (ie Mouth of Sauron), so Mourinho may just tell him to do one.
Apparently, Russki boy is unhappy that Chelsea play such dull football, even if they win all the time. At such times, I am reminded of the famous quote by one of Stoke City's managers after they had out-bored the 1970's Arsenal in a 0-0 draw. When asked whether he felt that his tactics had eliminated any entertainment for the fans, his response was
"If you want entertainment, go and watch clowns"
Anyways, there is a more important question - who's buying City, and who's gonna manage us ? Lot of names have 'turned us down', but I'm guessing that's largely to do with the takeover not yet going through.

I hope the game in Athens between Liverpool-Milan won't dissappoint as the recent important final at Wembley. The reds are not great in defence, midfield or attack but they have that killer speed & combativeness that can create havoc to anyone. It's important that they score early if they can and shut down Kaka.
S.Gerrard will have to control the game for Liverpool as very few teams have a talented midfield like the Italians and A. Pirlo is another player to watch for.
I think Milan is tactically wiser and stronger and with their experience led by the ageless P. Maldini and the always gritty G. Gattuso, I'll give the edge to the Italians.

There's no way that Hargraves is worth 17. What's that about? Seems like Bayern cashed in on a player that's done very little.
