Folks,
I'm off Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun.

Whoever picks up the 360 with PGR 3, we must get together sometime soon and let it fly!

I think you cats know where I stand on the 360: It's a very nice box, but nothing compels me to buy it now. And with a second home vacated by our tenant today because it's on the market and she closed on her new house, I need to spend $500 on a video game system like I need a Tabasco enema.

Then again, even if that wasn't the situation, I've never bought a console at launch, and I wasn't planning on buying this one at launch, even before we decided to put the second house on the market.

I'll definitely wait for the first two of these three things to happen, and possibly the third:

1. Rental property to sell or be rented again after listing expires in three months.
2. More compelling games. The only launch title that tickles my sack even the slightest is PGR 3, and I think it's going to be PGR 2 with INCREDIBLE graphics and only supercars, which doesn't wow me.
3. A price drop.

I've just never been jazzed for this thing, probably because again I've never bought a console at launch. The steep price tag also is quite a deterrent.

But I sincerely hope you boys enjoy your 360s! :)

Take care,
PK

"Enjoy your 360s, boys"

I certainly will. I believe I made my purchase the right way. I preordered back in May and made payments periodically so as not to be a financial burden after buying games and accessories. Like DB and others, I believe the graphical upgrades are worth it. Me personally, I feel I've been waiting on this system since the first time I played Combat on the 2600

Even though I'm paying more now then ever before for a new system, this has been the least burden of them all. Like Gamer above, I pre-ordered back in May and just went back every week or 2 and put more money down. 50 here, maybe a 100 there, and sometimes maybe just a 10 or 20 spot... whatever I had and could part with at the time.

Now, just this past week I decided on a whim to put my XBOX and the 4 games I still had for it on the market. Got another 200 from that and will now put that toward getting me online in a wireless fashion and maybe another game.

One thing that does blow though, is that when I start adding it all up it hits ya like a hammer. Since May I've put A LOT of money into this "upgrade".

I've pretty much done the same thing Boom. Instead of going to a store to pay it off, I just started stashing money away in my desk. A few 20's a week and I've got around 700 to blow this week (actually I've just got the system to pay for at this point as I've got a bunch of games/accessories already).

All you people who plan ahead really make me sick. I plunked down my $650 for the console, games and accessories 2 days ago, and the wife wasn't pleased to see it appear on the AMEX bill. Had I parsed it out as many of you have, I wouldn't have had any 's'plainin to do.

I feel the same way about the 360. I also preordered on May 15th and chipped away at it with store credit. I've got a premium 360, Madden, NBA 2k6, and COD2 all paid for already and out of pocket it cost me $25. I can't wait until Tuesday at midnight. :D

Ditto. Picked up Madden and COD2 today along with an extra wireless controller.

I'm glad to see everybody jumping with joy like schoolkids on the last day of May. I haven't gotten that feeling yet(probably because I won't make it back into town until the 23rd) but when some more titles come down the pike(Burnout), then and only then. But that NHL2K6 is looking pretty sweet.

I did the same thing. I preordered the first day you could then went back in and paid it off in August and just by selling some stuff off, I have one game already purchased and $270+ on my Paypal debit card that I will be using to purchase 5 more launch titles. Imagine the surprise on my wife's face when she found out that the whole 360 purchased was made possible without ever touching our primary funds. And if I can make a nice little profit on my 2nd 360, then this will be the cheapest new console I've ever bought.

Now that's what I want to hear. I'll look for you as soon as I hop online with mine.

By the way, have you seen the latest PGR 3 movies at Xboxyde showing how Gotham TV works? It takes the Spectator mode into a whole new level. Amazing feature.

NBA 2K6 and Fifa 06 make me want the system. I'm already bought one for sure but i'm still going to try and sell it first. If I can't sell it than i'll just hold on to it. I know that EA stripped down Fifa but the game looks amazing from the videos that i've seen.

I'm not getting PGR3 until Christmas so hopefully you guys will still be playing it by then.

I've got Madden, COD2, and NBA 2k6 as I mentioned earlier and I'm hoping to pick up Perfect Dark Zero as well. At this point I'm keeping my todcomplex Live account but I'm hoping to change it to ScoopBrady. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to do that and maintain my friends list. Does anybody know anything about changing your gamertag with the 360?

you have to buy one of those marketplace cards. Changing your tag cost 800 points or 9.99.

Boom, I'm taking the day off Tuesday too, so we'll definitely hook up for some gaming throughout the day, especially PGR3. I'm hoping to get an early morning UPS delivery that day.

1. I was in the same situation not long ago, although we decided to sell our rental property due to the slow increase in interest rates and the rumours that that's the continuing trend, at least in Canada. (Also sick and tired of dealing with tenants when they turn into complete A$$**** as their contract runs out). How's the interest situation in your area?

2. The only game I was interested at launch is Perfect Zero. After all these launch titles get released, is there a "next" game people must get? Or wait a few months like the PSP? Anyone?

3. Probably won't happen until the PS3 gets launched next holiday season.
