Now who's worth 12 mil again?

Oh and one thing I didn't realize...Andruw is a whole day older than Beltran (April 23rd to April 24, 1977). I never knew they were virtually the same age. Everyone made Beltran out to be this young guy coming up that was worth the ridiculous jack, like A-Rod...guess not.
Beltran's been a bust, plain and simple. He played himself into this huge contract last year, and he's easily been the biggest disappointment in the Majors this season.

Double bonus for me. I have Farnsworth in my fantasy league. Looks like the Braves may have to use him. He has been amazing this season for Detroit. If the Braves do, I will easly turn him into another hitter, as I already have Hoffman and Nathan for my closers.
Farnsworth won't be used as a closer...Reitsma will continue to do it. He's saved 9 in a row and he just had a bad outing. Cards played good...even at like half strength...but if you remember correctly, the series is tied now.
It took a few more games, but I knew Reitsma would lose the job to Farnsworth. Farnsworth has really come into his own this season. His .92 WHIP since joining the Braves is a nice thing to have in a closer. He was dominating with the Tigers before he joined the Braves. Reitsma is just not that good of a pitcher. An average guy can rack up saves.

The other thing I like about Farnsworth, which I like in closers, is the high number of K's. I would think that the Braves closer situation is finally settled.

Reitsma is having the same problem the rest of the Braves relievers are having...walks. If he can't throw strikes...he's not gonna close. At least Kyle is throwin' some strikes. And it's not gonna matter if Kyle is throwing well, if they can't get the game to him.

Beltran isn't that bad and Jones isn't that good.

If you think otherwise then that's your opinion.

LOL...I guess they don't play the games for a reason. From now on I'm going to base my player ratings on things that happen off the field I guess. I'm sure GMs everywhere are lining up to read your next book on how to assemble a team.

Beltran got the power although he's been below par this season, while I like Andruw's speed & exciting play he brings on. However, I say the outfielder of theyear is Derrek Lee for the CHW, 39 HR's, 343 AVG and 95 RBI's. Sammy who?????

There are three problems with your statement.

Andruw has more power than Beltran.

Beltran is faster than Andruw.

Lee plays First Base.

So basically your entire statement is incorrect.

And Lee plays for the Chicago Cubs, not the White Sox.

LOL...exactly. Maybe he's thinking of Carlos Lee, but then again, he plays for the Brewers.

How's that sweep feel Met fans? You're all but done this year...kiss the postseason goodbye. Thanks for blowing the game tonight...TWICE. It was beautiful. 5-23 now against the Braves in September. Now we know why the Braves are inching closer to #14 in a row.

Edit: My bad...4-19 in Atlanta.

Turner field is where the Mets season goes to die every year.

Sad but true.

The only problem is that it's true for the Braves seasons too, it just so happens that it's in the playoffs.

Philly sits atop the wild-card lead by a half-game over the Astros, but it's difficult to imagine them staying there. Fifteen of their final 28 are on the road, and that's when things have gone wrong for them.

Umm...the Marlins are ahead of the Phils by 2 games...but are .5 behind the Astros who are leading the wild card race.

You're not doing too well in this thread.

Awww yeah...and Andruw extends his domination of Beltran.

Another two homers today in a win over the Nats (the bullpen SUCKS even to let them in the game)...

49 homers (a franchise record) and 121 rbis. I guess my prediction at the begining of the year that he would bust out and finally have the breakout offensive season that people expected from him came true.

grumble grumble grumble....

How the hell did my Nats ever win 15 games in a row at home this season???????

They need a miracle I think.

Your boys are sure beating the crap out of our horrible bullpen...that's for damn sure. Eesh...this is going to end very badly for the Braves if they advance to the postseason.

But hey...Beltran is still stuck on:

.272 avg. 16 hr 68 rbis and 75 runs

While Andruw is crusing along at:

.277 avg. 50 hr 125 rbis and 91 runs

The gap just keeps getting wider. I wonder who is a better value? Conveniently we haven't heard a word from Javi lately about the subject.

Geez what do you want me to say?

Jones has a had a better season that Beltran. Not much to say about it.

Too bad he couldn't help advance the Braves last year where it counted, the playoffs.

But hey, your a Braves fan so whatever happens in the regular season has to basically make your day.

Again, good for Andruw.

I hope Beltran has a injury(and freakish outfield collition free) free year in 2006 and he can bounce back. He's been bust, period.

OK DB here's an article on your man. Still for the NL I would vote D. Lee from the Cubs as MVP this season.

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/st ... eel/050914

What a tight race, between Philly and Nats only 2.5 games separates them the last time I checked. Hou & Flo are right in there.

Yeah, those articles are popping up everywhere. I choose to ignore them.

My man isn't going to win the MVP...Pujols is. I've already accepted that. I hope Andruw does, but I just don't think it will happen unless he gets his average over .290 or so. If he's still in the .270's he will not take it.

Andruw has a few advantages...more game winning RBIS...more homers...more rbis...better defensively. Other than those items...Pujols has a significant advantage. The most important categories seem to be batting with runners in scoring position and batting average...both of which Albert has a huge advantage.
