Soupa Mac here, ( Spooky's Buddy). Just wanted to say that it is so refreshing playing with a group of people that truly get it. I have spent the past 10+ years gaming online with randoms which has been a maddening experience 95% of the time. Look forward to many more sessions. Now all I have to do is learn how to land on top of a skyscraper with my parachute.

Welcome aboard, dude. Glad to have you here. You answered the question I posed Wednesday night after you killed me multiple times: "Who the f*ck is this SoupaMac DICK?" :) :) :)

I finally messed around in GTA online for a bit this AM. I was just playing with randoms but I had a lot of fun. Maybe the rockstar reputation thing is starting to really have it's effects, I don't know.

Anyway when I did some missions I realized how woefully under equipped I was at my paltry level 4 with no weapons really available. What are some good missions to level up? I joined someone's mission and it was just us against the AI, so even though I died and ran out of lives, since one guy survived and completed the mission I got some good XP and a bit of cash.

But then I hosted a mission which was team vs team and since my team lost, I got bupkis. Zilch. Nada. And it was long - it was one of those, get the package and take it to the safehouse, and we basically chased each other over the whole map which took foorreeeevveeeerrrrrrr.

Anyway, I'm starting to get some idea how to do online. It's pretty cool! If the rep thing really does work, and of course it will take time for the reps to build up, it should be fine with randoms.

Anyone get their $500K yet? Did I somehow miss out because my original online character got corrupted? I d/l'ed an update this morning, but the free cash didn't show up.

I have heard about some cheesey exploits to get mad cash, but really I just wand enough to get a garage at this stage. Also is like to level to where I can have something other than a pistol.

At level 3 you can buy a sawed off shotgun, and I think at 5 you get the Uzi SMIG. You don't have to use a pistol much past the tutorial.

As for leveling up, races give you an absurd amount of cash, they're quick, and you get good RP for each one as long as you do fairly well. Avoiding idiots is the trickiest part of any race.

I haven't received the $500 K's either and indeed when you move up, the higher end weapons become available. Those dudes with ridiculous amount of cash have been exploiting the cheesy ways prior to the patch, which were many.

I don't think you can do that anymore.

One good thing is with this game you can level up in private lobbies. You actually earn more points and cash with your Crew. If you find a short race (try Criminal Records) with 2 or 3 guys, you can all level up pretty fast.

What I need is a few more level ups. I want to be able to buy Sticky Bombs (19?) and play Survival Mode (15).

Do missions above your level. Watch the phone for people sending out invites. I got in some missions last night that were lvl 50+. I was able to contribute fine and payouts were 12k and 10k and there were a ton of RP as well.

Good times last night! Even if the turnout is less than spectacular, it doesn't lessen the fun factor. GTA probably generates the most laughs per session out of any game I've played online.

I didn't roll in until about 11pm Central. Ran one hilarious but really frustrating mission. Teal and I took a few whacks at survival mode, which is really a nice implementation of horde mode.

Yeah, Pete and I tried a few funny survival missions earlier. One where we both managed to accidentally suicide, and the other where I took a couple of shotgun blasts at point blank to die quickly.

My wife, brother, and myself have all been plowing through the various modes of Diablo 3 on the 360 (almost at the end of Nightmare mode now), so when nobody was there, I hopped back over to that game to keep moving through it. The wife gets cranky if she doesn't get to poison crap as her witch doctor nowadays

Bummed I missed out if the evening eventually got rolling, though. I look forward to these Wednesday night GTA sessions.

I'd say turnout may be hampered a bit by the World Series. Baseball is really cutting into my GTA time, I'm only a level 10:(

This must be free content, IMO. Beach vehicles? Where the hell are the heists? That's the one thing I really signed onto GTA for was the heists. There weren't nearly enough of them in the campaign, and they're MIA online. C'mon!

If you can't wait for the heists, Payday 2 will be on sale for $20 on Black Friday. At that price I may bite, but only if I can find 3 other guys to play it with.

I'm still having penty of fun with what's available in GTA Online now, so I don't mind the wait. Last night I was on with a couple of friends, one of them brand new to GTA. It was pretty hilarious witnessing and running interference on his first attempt at escape from a fleet of cop cars. The guy was blown away by all the detail and content they stuffed into this game.

The Beach Bum pack will be free. A few new weapons, vehicles, tattoos and hairtyles. Plus new "jobs" including Gang Attacks, Survivals, Parachutes, Deathmatches and Races set near beaches and coastal areas. The Content Creator for Deathmatches and Races will also be free.

The 500K payout has been delayed while Rockstar takes continues to fix online issues. I did have some problems joining friends games on Friday (heavy traffic night?), but Sunday was fine.

There's a demo for Payday 2 on XBL now, and that sucker is HARD....I LIKE it. So yeah, if that's gonna be 20 bones on Black Friday, I'll bite. BUT I want your ass in a Splinter Cell match soon, too! lol
