I could be tempted. I've been pulling 14 hour days and need some time hanging with my DSP friends. Then again, if business doesn't slow down I wont have any time to play.

I'll be getting it, but likely on the PC and not a console. Sometimes graphics and control trump friends. :) Too bad the sh*t comes out like three weeks later. I wonder why the gaming companies are continuing to do that. Have the PC versions coming out later than consoles...just like Max Payne 3 as well. I'm still shocked no one has started playing MP3 so far around here...or at least there hasn't been any talk yet.

I got up to Chapter 5 in MP3, but that was mostly because the Diablo servers were down lol

I am really excited for this game. The co-op seems too good to be true. I'm really intrigued by this 'Sync Shot' thing. If it's not gimicky it could be a really cool and fun multiplayer element. I'm going to my local GS at midnight to geek out. Being that I live in the Raleigh area now, some of the staff from Red Storm are gonna be at the store hanging out. Both Red Storm and Epic are located in the Raleigh/Cary, NC area. Pretty neat. Might just see if they need a UX Architect...

You live in Raleigh? When did you leave Chitown?

Moved to Cary, NC 2 months ago to the day. Wife is preggers and, as much as we loved city life, it's not our style for raising a family. So, since we both work from home and have fairly unlimited options, we put together a list of important criteria for a place to end up and Cary, NC won out (close to family, close to nature, better cost of living, job opportunities, etc...). So far, it's been almost too perfect. We couldn't be happier.

So, to answer your question...2 months. :)

Damn, congrats. Very cool if you can manage to pull it off!

I'd certainly get out of Central California if I could do it.

Thanks Terry. We really lucked out. My wife worked remotely already but I just stumbled upon a great remote job and it opened all sorts of options for us.

Hey guys... so is this game ever still about crawling through the woods and getting the drop on people through the foliage?

I watched some gameplay footage yesterday but it didn't seem to have the ingredients I always liked about our old GR days. Seemed like a lot of deserts and tech now. Would love to be wrong!

I haven kept up too tightly with all the info, but my impression is decidedly that you are not wrong, not in the least. I found it illuminating in the one preview linked above that the best he could say about the game was that while it's not at all old GR, it's not quite completely Call of Duty. Eeesh.

That was definitely the take-away from the review, and it's in keeping with the other previews I've read.

I think it's safe to say that any return to methodical, thoughtful combat of the type we used to see with R6 and the old GR's is relegated to the margins of the industry at this point. It's all Kickstarter and PC-only from here on out, I think.

I cancelled my preorder last week after initially assuming this game was going to be the s***. GRFS just doesn't have the same thing going for it that the other two games had. I'm sure it's a decent game but it seems like it has tried to become more like other run of the mill titles in the genre. I'll wait and see what GR diehards around the Net have to say about it once they've delved into it before purchasing.
