Right now I am just addicted to UT.

Re: FIFA 12 Previews
That's my biggest gripe with the game. Enjoying a lot otherwise and online/versus mitigates a lot of that but doesn't help you much if you just want to play single player.Bill_Abner wrote:Once again it's like the ratings for CPU players don't matter when it comes to dispossessing.

Re: FIFA 12 Previews
Very interesting.......
Game feels very different than 10/11 versions. I'm not sold on the player impact engine. I think it needs another year to finish baking. Connected to that may be my biggest gripe.... When two players collide, the ball goes shooting out of the collision like a rocket.
Azpaco and I played through a 10 game
Season and that is a very cool feature. The season came down to the last match.. Very fun indeed.

Agree, particularly about the ball physics after collisions...and the fun. FIFA, I sent you a club invite, if you're so inclined.FifaInspected wrote:Very interesting.......

Not that anyone cares, but IGN gave FIFA 12 a 9.5

Re: FIFA 12 Previews
Even more impressive Eurogamer gave it a 9/10. It's a tough crowd to please across the pond and they're happy. Although I agree with FIFA, that the ball physics and collisions make this look like a beta game to me. I'll hold off till next year.

I simply love the online additions to this years offering. The mini 10 match seasons between friends is genius for those of us who play against a regular set friends. In the past there was no way of tracking head to head games unless you played ranked matches, which we never do.

I absolutely love this game! Traded in Madden at Best Buy and got around $42 in credit. Sweet.MizzouRah wrote:Not that anyone cares, but IGN gave FIFA 12 a 9.5
Re: FIFA 12 Previews
I'm skipping FIFA this year.
After playing the early edition there's no way that the offline mode is going to hold my attention. Played a few exhibition games and unless you are in great position to make a play the CPU rarely makes mistakes. Barca is pretty ridiculous when you play them.
Did a few 5-star teams versus the half start teams and it's the same old FIFA. As Macca said, player ratings do not matter.
I messed with sliders and it had too much of an effect. Even Barca couldn't string together a pass. I don't really want to spend $60 to fine-tune a game just to get it right. Plus the AI plays the same in almost every game.
Macca get PES and let us know how it plays!!

JRod,
Have you tried the newest/latest PES 2012 Demo? It's up on Live - I like it, it definitely isn't perfect but for a single player game (11vs11) I prefer it to FIFA right now.
Guys,
Any hints/tips on how to rank up my virtual pro a bit faster so I'm not playing like Andy Carroll? That said my alcohol tolerance is amazing.

Macca,
Next time we're in multiplayer, ask Forensicd. He's got a bunch of tricks. Principally, I think he plays head-to-head and controls both teams, but he's got a few other things up his sleeve. He was an 85 in like 4 days last year. LOL

Re: FIFA 12 Previews
I am trying to decide which game to get: FIFA or PES? Right now I only have Live silver so I would probably just be playing offline (unless I bite the bullet and go to gold). I have not played either series in a couple of years (only playing football manager) and I want to get back into one of them.

"Still, at least we know where we stand again, even if the roles are reversed. If you're looking for the better football simulation, FIFA 12 is now the place to be. EA's latest is quite a stodgy meal in places, slowing things down and asking you to rethink your defensive behaviour. But it is a consistent, balanced game of football that offers great rewards for the patient and thoughtful gamer.
Konami still hasn't quite finished the job this year, then, but the bigger flaws have been eradicated and the remaining quirks are more like characteristics than calamities. We're a world away from the simple days of old, but PES 2012 is entertaining and rewarding and we can't wait to see where Konami takes it next year - and that's a nice feeling to welcome back.
8/10

per the above.. Same old story for PES... Pretty much "Not what it was, but we sure are looking forward to next years attempt to re-discover some of it's magic."

Both teams? Geez, I am out currently out of town but that sounds interesting enough to try. And as in NHL doesn't FIFA allowed players to buy your VP to stardom?RobVarak wrote:Macca,

Macca, ran across this on the web. Don't have the game yet so I am assuming this works. Hope this helpsMacca00 wrote:JRod,

"One important thing to note: you can now rank your pro up easier than before and without going into career mode.
Just select "Exhibition" mode, pick the teams, then go into "game settings".
Set it to "World Class".
The last 2 pages of the settings are now dedicated to customizing how well your team and the cpu team plays. Just put the cpu team at 0 on all the sliders and then start the game against any team and start knocking off the accomplishments."

I would play both demos and see what you think. If I didn't have XBL I would definitely go with PES - I really enjoyed that demo and if you check out Toon's impressions in the PES thread it seems the full game is really good too. If you get back on Live then it's a bit difficult - OTP in FIFA is great and the main reason I'm playing off-line FIFA is just to beef up my Virtual Pro. Head to head games are really good too (and it seems matchmaking is better).
