Boise-Nevada was every bit as entertaining as Alabama-Auburn, which was a classic. A great Friday of college football.

I ran out of gas when Boise went up 2 TDs. I was shocked to learn Nevada came back and won that game.

I don't watch a lot of college football but I caught the end of that game. I feel sorry for that kicker, that is going to stay with him for the rest of his life. A miracle play like that to set up a chip shot field goal and he missed it (frankly I thought the first one was good) and then he missed another chippy in OT.

I bet he is not so popular on campus, he may need to transfer after that.

My sentiments exactly. Apparently the kid is money, the leading scorer in Boise State history. Too bad he had to be chump change last night.

Those short uprights on the goalposts altered my judgment of the kicks, too. I thought the first one was good. For f*ck's sake, Nevada is an NCAA Division I-A program -- you'd think the school could afford NFL-style goalposts.

Sorry, but it's just wrong to see Ohio State in those naked candy-apple red helmets, all in the name of Nike "Combat."

One of the highlights of the Michigan-Ohio State game for me every year as a kid was spotting the star players by the number of buckeye achievement stickers affixed to their silver helmets.

That said, West Virginia's Nike "Combat" unis and helmets looked bad-ass yesterday against Pitt.

yes. Was hoping they could get into the National Championship picture. However, a Wisconsin vs TCU match-up (Rose Bowl) would be the next best thing. Both awesome teams

Hmm. I think the BCS title game might get it right with the two best, most talented teams in the land this year: Oregon vs. Auburn.

Of course, I'm not going to argue with you, PK...

But I was watching the Boise State game last night, and fell asleep, only to be awakened by "and we're going to overtime!" 8O Last I knew, it was 24-14. Gutsy performance by the Wolfpack...and I feel for the kicker. wow.

Rumors because they are made up. Come on...lets get real. If Gruden gets back into coaching, it's gonna be in the NFL. A lot more money to be had.

Let's all guess at the opening line for the Fiesta Bowl between Oklahoma and Connecticut. I'm thinking Oklahoma -21, and I'd still take the Sooners.

I'm a Big East guy to the core, but it's a cruel joke that the BCS rewards a team that lost to Michigan, Temple, Rutgers and Louisville with a major bowl berth.

Simple question: If Florida went 11-1 or 10-2 this season, would Urban Meyer have retired?

I don't think so, either.

The latest rumor going around is that Florida is trying to sign Bob Stoops although he's denying they are even close to a deal. http://jacksonville.com/opinion/blog/40 ... g-contract
