I'm in the same boat, Dan...and I couldn't care less about pro basketball. My hat's off to 2k for making an absolutely fantastic game.sportdan30 wrote:I simply can't get my 2K10 disc out of my PS3! No, it's not stuck. I can't stop playing this game. I tell myself I'm going to play Fifa or Fight Night, and I end up playing a couple games of 2K10. I continuously keeping starting my season over as I just can't pick that favorite team to play with. I think I have finally decided to run with the Suns as I love the up tempo game.

Tried them Jack, but believe it or not, I had a heck of time finding enough scoring. The only negative about the Suns is that they don't seem to have a true big man to stop the real good teams that focus in that area. But, I love playing with Nash. He creates so many scoring opportunities for not only himself but his other teammates.JackB1 wrote:Don't run with the Sun! I wish you guys would make up your minds. Back in October when I was trying to decide which NBA game to get, it seemed like Live was the consensus choice around here.
Oh well, no big deal, I'm still diggin' Live. Even though I'm not doing too well. I'm 17-34 with the Cavs (All-Star, default everything). I guess it means I'm not doing too well when they announce the All-Star team and LeBron doesn't make it.

That's because those of us who enjoy live are playing it, not trying to sell it to the public 2 months later.lexbur wrote:I wish you guys would make up your minds. Back in October when I was trying to decide which NBA game to get, it seemed like Live was the consensus choice around here.
Enjoy whichever game you got, there both good.

I don't remember Live being the "consensus", but they are both good games. They both do most things well and a few not so well. It all depends on how much those "few, not so well" things irk you in ea. game.lexbur wrote:I wish you guys would make up your minds. I played Live last year and really enjoyed it, but switched back to 2K this year and couldn't be happier. The commentary, presentation and sheer quality and depth to 2K makes it the clear winner this year IMO. But you can drive yourself crazy if you compare these 2 for too long
I was giving advice. Yes, I tried both side by side for a while, but once I finally decided, I stopped comparing them and just enjoyed my choice. Also, I got these games much later than most of the guys here, so it may have seemed like I was comparing for a long time, but it was really only about 2 weeks.matthewk wrote:Anyone else find this highly ironic?JackB1 wrote:But you can drive yourself crazy if you compare these 2 for too longJust pick one and don't look back!
Anybody else been following the story about the lead designer of Live, Mike Wang, going back to 2k, after only a year? It's hard to believe EA (or the game industry in general) wouldn't use non-competes to prevent this sort've thing from happening. And to not have a contract that would prevent the trash talk is even more surprising to me. Either way, doesn't sound good for Live.

I haven't followed it but I find what you said shocking, I've never worked for a company (aside from retail in high school) that hasn't had a non-compete. The game industry is really puzzling sometimes.

I'm late as hell to 2k10, but this game is incredible. Was really close to not purchasing this game, but I'm glad I did. Kind of tired of the current NBA, so I downloaded a set of classic rosters from 2kShare. The last time I was really interested in the NBA was during the Jordan Bulls era of the 90s, so I downloaded the 90-91 season rosters as that was the beginning of their championship seasons. There are some really creative folks over at OS that did these rosters. I can see playing this game for a long time.

The game is indeed awesome. It's the only game I've played consistently for the last few months. Hardly an NBA fan, I just find it to be so entertaining and fun. I'll have to check out those classic rosters as I unware anyone had put any together. Jordan must be a beast!TheGamer2 wrote:I'm late as hell to 2k10, but this game is incredible. I'd be down with a small league or tournament.
Dan, I have the 360 version, so I don't know if you could use these particular rosters for the PS3 version. I'm sure there are some available for PS3 though. A lot of the star players from the era are rated 99, and I'm averaging about 35+ for Jordan on 12 minute quarters. But he probably averaged 30 during that time. What I really like is how the crowd at the United Center starts getting louder everytime he gets the ball. The atmosphere at the stadiums is great. Very easy to get into the games win or lose.
