This game is pure fun. I've only put in a good 40 minutes but it definitely ranks as one of the best Wii titles to date.
Very immersive gameplay - there's just so much to find and do while racing that I don't think boredom is an option. I love the drifting, quirky weapons and sense of speed (perfectly balanced in my opinion).
I also love the wheel - it feels very responsive and just adds to the whole experience.
Look forward to some online battles with you guys.

Boredom would be impossible with this game as races are both won and lost in so many ways especially online.fanatic wrote:This game is pure fun. I've only put in a good 40 minutes but it definitely ranks as one of the best Wii titles to date.

I finally got my hands on a rental copy of this game, and my son and I both really enjoy it. Even 1p is better than I expected. (Though I'm nowhere near the top tier yet)
I'm assuming there is also a 'skill' element to the online matchmaking, in addition to geography? You'd think so, but so far I've been put in rooms where I've been doing really well against the competition on only my first few times out.
And BTM, yes, it seems like staying on Automatic is the way to go. It seems like you have to be pretty darn good at Manual to even equal the performance you get with Automatic, let alone exceed it.
Thanks to everyone that posted impressions. There was enough good said about the title here to keep it on my radar, and I'm glad it was there.

Online is the best!!! I played offline for a while, but once I unlocked the ability to race with my Mii I haven't touched it. I'm not sure how they coded this one but I've never seen a hint of funny business with regards to lag, no matter how geographically disparate the field is. Love the pre-race roll call as well.
I think i have to get one of these now. I just was at the store, and what do I see, HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2 AND 3 for Wii!!! I loved this game back 10 years ago in the arcades and the Dreamcast. Reviews are terrible, but the player reviews say it's just as fun. And can't beat the $14.99 price tag for the Wii Gun.
Now just to find one.
