Congrats Teal! I've been thinking about going, but the only tickets in my price range are upper deck distant (far far far away from the action), and I don't know if I want to drive 13 hours for that. Tough call.

Enjoy it - just don't rub it in too much.

Trust me...it doesn't happen to me very often...in fact, maybe never, apart from this time. And don't worry, I don't rub in. That's all I plan to say about it on this end anyway...I'll give details and pics (hopefully) when I get back...

You're a better man than I - I think I'd be sorely tempted to gloat.

I hope it lives up to the hype. I was a kid the last time I remember being as excited about a College Hoops game as I am for Georgetown v. OSU. Probably that 85 Final Four of Georgetown/'Nova/Memphis St/St. John's.

Enjoy it for all it is worth.

Georgetown is a sentimental favorite, of course. But hell, who knows? This is a great foursome to get to watch...

I'm going too!!! Maybe we can meet up Teal? We can discuss the upcoming election :D I got tix to both days for a pretty good price. Thing is, I wont know exactly where the seats are until Sat AM. Somone I know won tix thru that Pontiac contest and he has no interest in the game.
They could be upper deckers or they could be pretty good seats? I was willing to gamble since the price was fair. I would think since it's a contest, the seats couldn't be horrible. That would be a little insulting. They are selling the entire upper deck of the GA Dome, which is a scary thought. Anyway, I am also going to watch the FL practice on Fri afternoon. Go Gators!!!!!! It should be a great Finals. I am hoping for a FL vs GTown Finals. Will be looking for Patrick Ewing. He is one of my heros. You know he'll be there rooting on his boy.

Anyone else going except me and Teal?

I was thinking, maybe next year, the Final Four weekend in Atlanta
would be a great place to do "DSP Meetup". Atlanta is somehwat centrally located and the Final Four is a great event that most of us
are interested in and if you are not, there is plenty to do in the city
to keep you accupied for a day or two. Tickets are easy to get for the
Finals if you hang out Sat night after the games, cause there are two losing team's fans' looking to sell their FINALS tix...there is also the ESPN Sportszone bar that has a HUGE screen to watch the game on, if you dont get in.

Just something to think about......we have a whole year to plan it.
I really think a group meeting would be a great thing, if enough folks
can make it.

As Scooby Doo would say, "huh?" Jack, the Final Four is in a different city every year. 2008 will be in San Antonio. But check it out, if you apply soon you won't have to pay big money to a ticket agent:

Go Gators!!!!

Went to the games last night. Thought Ohio State looked pretty good beating GTown. The FL - UCLA game was kind of a snoozer. UCLA never really challenged FLA and FLA looked like they were toying with them.
They weren't in the same class and I dont know if any team is in the same category as FL right now. They have 5,6 guys who can all score and if anyone is off the other guys step up. Richard got 15 off the bench last night and Brewer stpped up with 19 when Horford and Noah were cold.
They are a well oiled machine that plays as a team better than anyone.
I really cant see Ohio State beating them at this point.

I think UCLA had about 6 points out of their "half-court offense." I use the quotes because that clusterfrack should not be confused with the real thing. Tough to win when you can only score in transition and from the line.

My goodness, what planet is Noah on? Seriously, outside of Florida, how can anyone root for this team?

What exactly did he say that was so terrible? Noah plays with such enthusiasm and passion for the game, I cant help but root for him.
He is someone everyone wants on their team and hates to play against.
Ohio State's coach said he would love to have him on his team. He is the only one on FL that stays after practices and signs autographs and talks
to the kids. I really think he is misunderstood by most.

I've got OSU beating FU in my bracket but if Oden gets in foul trouble early (like Afflalo on sat) this game is going to be close close close... I really hope that Oden comes alive in this game and scalps Noah and that annoying a$$ funky boy hairdo he rocks.

All else being equal, I'd root against Florida just because of those ridiculous and hideous red/orange saxes in the band :)

There should be an NCAA rule forbidding future NBA Lottery picks from asking to have themselves removed from the game for being winded 3 minutes in.

Congrats to the Gators. NC in both football and basketball is very impressive.

With that, three of the most boring games in recent Final Four history that I can remember.

What an impressive win. FL had to battle the refs and Ohio State. Those "phantom" off the ball fouls were driving me crazy! The weird thing was they were letting the big guys bang away, but they call this ticky tac crap on the rest of the players. Probably the worst officiating I can remember in a Final.

Oden is a monster. FL had no answer for him. I was surprised Ohio St didn't just go to that well until it was dry. They tried to hit the 3's and the outside shots and they clealy were cold from outside. Take away 7 or so of those 3 attempts and give the ball to Oden instead and it's a new ballgame. But FL is so strong, they can beat you in so many different ways. The bench did a great job with most of the starters in foul trouble.
Great coaching move by Donovan having Horford running the high screens and picks and handling the ball up high. Oden wouldn't come out to defend.

So happy for the "Boys From Florida". Those 3 juniors came back and got the 2nd championship that they set out to get. They really represent all that is great about college basketball. The teamwork....the comradery...the enthusiasm.....you gotta love it.

FLA GATORS - 2005, 2006 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!
ORANGE- BLUE-ORANGE- BLUE-ORANGE- BLUE-ORANGE- BLUE!!!!

P.S. I saw Teal on security detail on the floor. He had a great view of the game, but I think he had to keep his back to the court most of the time.
We never had a chance to meet though, cause he was busy "working".

I don't know what or who specifically you guys are talking about, but who cares? If you can't breathe, you can't breathe. Pretty unselfish to come out when you know you can't help the team at that moment. Selfish players stay in when they are tired and to "volunteer" to come out for a bit shows class IMO. But again.....why is this a big deal?

You don't see it as odd that one of the top players in the nation is winded 3 minutes into the biggest game of his current season, if not his career to date?

yes asking to come out was the right move for the team, and is what he should have done... but being winded that quickly, so bad that you have to come out? Seems odd.

Congrats to the Gators and their fans. I'm hoping Donovan will stick around.

As for Ohio State, Oden was unreal. I don't see him staying in school...time to go now.
