I took offense to your line about being politically correct. I came across to me as you accusing me of having "token gays" I called friends just to appear a certain way. It didn't help that I was already fired up about the topic. Sorry if I read it wrong, but that's how it appeared to me.

Ideally, I wish they would eliminate "marriage" from government altogether and just make laws for people living together. In reality, there is no way that the majority wants marriage messed with. My solution would be to keep the amendment, but add in something that would cover all other kinds of "unions". I don't even care if they are exactly the same in everything but what they call them. Sadly, they don't ask for solutions, you only get to vote yes or no on what is proposed on the ballot.

I think I answered your questions about my religion in the above post.

Now that I've slept on it, I'm much calmer today. I can see others views a little differently, and hopefully there will be a solution soon that everyone can be happy with.
