Jays win home opener. Full house, more than 50.000 fans to watch the new team and an improved Skydome. As usual the doctor looked awesome (R. Halladay) and B.J Ryan did his closing job. I haven't seen this enthusiasm for a Toronto baseball team since the early 90's.

Dodger fans...man, I'm disappointed.

A whole 35,000 paid for the last two games. Even though the weather was sh*tty, you'd at least think they'd be excited about a new season. Guess they just expect the usual crappy team on the field.

A lot of stud pitchers got touched up in their first outings (Smoltz, Pettitte, Zito, Santana, Garcia, Zambrano). I know my fantasy team suffered because of it.

Phillies offense looks great on paper, but our pitching has a lot of question marks. Hopefully, we can start the season off on a good note against the reigning NL Cy Young winner.
Two in a row to start the year for the Cards. Pujols wtih three dingers in two games. Great start by the reigning MVP.

I recall MLB implementing a rule a few years ago that there only be a certain amount of time taken between pitches. Why is that I then see batters stepping out of the box, pitchers walking off the mound, etc.? Is this rule being ignored by the umpires?

Also, it's ridiculous how long it takes when there is a runner on base and the pitcher takes forever to deliver a pitch. Something really needs to be done.

Just venting. I always feel like baseball is moving incredibly slow after watching the NCAA tournament for the last few weeks. It takes me a month to readjust.

I think if you press 'x' you can skip through that stuff... :P

I think they could still do more, but the games have been moving along better the past few years. I remember thinking in the late 90's and early 2000's that they really had to get around to doing something, which I feel they did.

If you watch old video of games from the 70's and even the '80s, the game moved along a little better. I'd like to see it get to that point again.

And with that, Rollins streak is over. Cards sweep the lowly Phillies.

Good ol' Gagne...likely out for the year with another surgery on his elbow. This time to remove a nerve. Guess they weren't so stupid to trade for Baez in the offseason.

I was stupid to believe the news coming out of the fishwraps about his recovery. What a waste of a top draft choice. On the real I wish the guy the best with the rest of his life. His baseball career sounds kaput.

It was a scene in the bleechers I tell ya. Nice to see Toronto fans heckling the opposition for a change!

Great optimisim surrounding the team for sure. If some of the young guys like Rios and Adams really step it up, we're in for a fun season.

Mon dieu, the Twins have a pathetic offense. I'm not sure I've ever detested a member of the team as much as Tony Batista.

You Braves fans may want to check on Chipper Jones after buckling his knee and ankle sliding on the infield during the Giants game today.

He sort of walked on it on his way off, but man, you should have heard the TBS guys having a heart attack!

I'm more worried about their starting pitching. They have ALL gotten rocked. The only reason they are 2-4 is because they are hitting a ton. They should be 0-6.

Mets 4-1, should be 5-0 if Wagner doesn't blow a save.

I'm happy with what I'm seeing.

A lot of aces have been roughed up in their first start or two.

The Twins pitching's stunk, too. Santana was solid today but couldn't make it through the 6th inning. The Indians flat-out wear down pitchers, fouling off tough pitches and displaying a ton of patience.

Of course, the offense hasn't put up more than 3 runs in 4 of 6 games so far, so even a team ERA of 4 wouldn't be getting it done much better.

And Tony Batista's range consists of how far he can fall to his right or left.

Keep in mind a Braves starter hasn't gone past the 6th till today...and none of them have given up less than 4 runs (most have given up 5). Not good.

Yeah, they lead in HR's too. Fun team to watch.

Those pesky Rays always foil the Blue Jays. A win against none other than R. Halladay.

Cubbies sweep the Cards! Held them to just 7 runs in the 3-game set. Nice start for the Cubbies. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Big win for the Sox today as well. They've had a shaky start but they should turn it around soon.

The amazing thing I heard during the game is that Pujols has only been hitless during two three-game series during his entire career. That's amazing.

Man, what a GREAT weekend... talk about baseball overload... took Friday off to go to the Tribe's home opener... also went on Saturday... Tribe swept the Twins... watched alot of the free preview of MLB Extra Innings... played LOTS of MLB06 The Show... and then that grand slam by the Cubs last night was the perfect way to end to an awesome weekend... I LOVE this time of year!!! :)

Some of these hot starters are coming back down to earth. Looks like the Tigers are about to get swept.

And speaking of sweeps, in typical Cubs fashion, it looks like the Reds will take the series after an emotional sweep of the Cards at home.

So much for monentum.

Mets about to sweep the Nationals since the're up 13-3 in the 8th.

Beltran, Delgado and Wright go deep again.

Mets are playing great baseball, but it's early and they've played 2 teams that aren't that good(Nationals and Marlins).

Still, they are taking advantage of the soft opening schedule and that's what good teams do.
