You forgot to highlight the best game on the list.
Oops... I recalled someone mentioning a playable demo of the game online and took this to mean it was PC available. A brief check of the publisher's forums seems to imply that a PC version is likely to come, but you are right it is not out yet. I'll edit my earlier post.
Catan rocks in pretty much any format, and the XBL version is very well done indeed. You can play solo against adjustable AI opponents or online. Only thing it (sadly) doesn't do is hotseat, which is disappointing for a board game.
It's cliched, but it is one of those things that only takes a few minutes to learn but a lifetime to master. It's well worth the effort, as there is no shortage of opponents - one of the most popular board games ever with a very loyal cult following. Check out the Catan page at boardgamegeeks.com for a ton of info.
I agree, it's very easy to learn, just run through the tutorial once and you'll get it.
But winning it is a totally different story. There are various ways to get the needed vistory points and trying to balance them all can be tricky. The AI is actually pretty good too.
Catan is officially the greatest thing since sliced bread! I never played it before yesterday, and I am absolutely hooked on it now. It blends luck and strategy and bargaining so beautifully. Brilliant game.

Anyone has an extra 1600 pts card laying around? I will paypal you $20 for it and you can PM me the code. Every store is sold out here in Manhattan, WTF?!

You can buy additional points straight from the console with the same credit card you used to sign up for Live.

I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

I didn't put in CC info for the sub (bought a card for it) so I am really hoping I don't have to buy the points that way. Thanks for the heads up tho.

Agreed 100%...I tried the demo, Proceeded to get the full game then spent 2-3 hours playing...
I would purchase Catan but Pinball FX is taking all my time.

Is anyone going to challenge Slumberland on the pinball records? The only table I dislike is the second one. It just seems rather bland, and seems difficult to rack up points. I just wish there were a few more tables.
Is slumberland the king here? Damn, I don't have him on my friendslist for soem reason. I'll be sure to send out the invite to see how i stand up to him.
I've been playing P-FX nonstop. Getting much more value out of this game than 80 percent of the full price games I purchase.
Yeah, I purchased P-FX too. Very fun but I suck! Never have been very good at pinball games but I really enjoy them. It will take me a while to figure out what I am supposed to do when on these tables.
Pinball is fun online as well. Especially if everyone has the Live Vision camera. You haven't lived until you've been treated to Zep's and Teal's ugly mugs during a round of pinball.
I am also enjoying Catan very much. There's a demo version? When I checked on Wednesday or Thursday I only saw the full version. I thought that was odd at the time but I guess the demo version didn't show up right away. I'd love to get a game in online with some DSPers.

There was apparently a bug in the demo of Catan so they took it down for a couple of days, or something. If we can get some DSP games going in that, I will be tempted to get the full game, but the lack of camera support is a reall downer. Lame. A game like that could really benefit from it, no matter how much of a negative Nelly RobV. happens to be about the issue!

Cameras trap and steal one's soul. They're evil, I say!
The only game that I really feel that a camera is nearly essential for is Poker, and even that's a stretch. I'm sure it's cool and all, and I really do mean to pick one up, but for a board game like this I think it would just be a nice added feature. Hardly essential.
How long does a 3 or four player all-human game take? I've only tackled the AI so far, as I had to learn the game from scratch.

I'm looking to scratch up a game of Catan against humans. I haven't had any luck with randoms yet and the ranked apparently doesn't have enough people in it, or just doesn't work.
Should somebody, Zeppo, start a new thread???
I'm guessing a human game might take an hour? Maybe longer since most of us are fresh to the game and how much dealing goes on.

As much as I hate to say this, my mug looks an awful lot like YOUR mug, so...
And I just didn't understand Catan. It bored me. What is it that is supposed to be so great about it?
Isn't this great...we all spent over $400 on the 360 and the most played games are pinball and a boardgame.
