No doubt the challenge goes way up with the Y zoom turned off. I'm still on the fence. If you are going to kill us like that, then maybe not

I would like to try at least 1 or 2 more like that and see what the consensus is.

Joz, don't base any expectations on what today's round showed. As I told Dan in my reply to him, it was an aberration due to my sick putting that round. I also know that course well enough now from playing it over the years to know where to aim, without a lot of help.JOZ wrote:Well John, that may be the most impressive round we've had. Excellent job.

True but you also in real life can't take a targeting marker and put it exactly where you want it. You're picking a spot in the distance to hit to, the aiming marker is the big culprit in the unrealistically low scores IMO because there is no guess work. Remove that, leave the scout cam and I think we maybe get more believable scores. Of course John shot a -10 with no aids at all yesterday so who knows.dbdynsty25 wrote:Yeah not being able to scout the hole doesn't work for me...went through a hole and quit. Just not fun when you can't even do something you'd be able to do in real life...
Good Lord, I had no idea that was considered a cheat, but I get it. I am shooting +30 for rounds even when using the "Y", so I can't imagine what I would shoot without it.dbdynsty25 wrote:Yeah not being able to scout the hole doesn't work for me...went through a hole and quit. I don't need the little circle, I just need to be able to see the hole without just seeing the overhead view. I want the little zoom camera that moves up the fairway. Then I can aim accordingly.Danimal wrote:True but you also in real life can't take a targeting marker and put it exactly where you want it. Yep... that's what I use Dan. Thanks for posting the video.Danimal wrote:Here is a video of what I am describing.

It's not considered a cheat, but some find it to be more information than they'd like to have at their disposal. Most use it and it's not frowned upon by most. Those who are opposed to it have no-aids Societies they can join that take all shot making and aiming assistance off the plate. I played in one, but I finally admitted I'm too lazy and too impatient to go to the trouble necessary to get a good green read without grids, and quit.DChaps wrote:Good Lord, I had no idea that was considered a cheat, but I get it. Since I am never competing, don't base anything on my comments.
I'm not a huge fan of it, but I can tolerate it. I don't think it would be a popular option here in the long run.dbdynsty25 wrote:Yeah not being able to scout the hole doesn't work for me...went through a hole and quit. Is it possible to set up an event in this manner? Or is the only option to turn it all off like Mondays event?J_Cauthen wrote: Yep... that's what I use Dan. Thanks for posting the video.
I'll check it out and get back to you.Danimal wrote:Is it possible to set up an event in this manner? Or is the only option to turn it all off like Mondays event?J_Cauthen wrote: Yep... that's what I use Dan. Thanks for posting the video.
Nope, can't be done, unfortunately. Just tried and the options aren't there.Danimal wrote:Is it possible to set up an event in this manner? Or is the only option to turn it all off like Mondays event?
