I agree with this, as I hit my stroke limit by putting around the hole multiple times.

The CAG is just so laughably bad at the start. I thought it had been improved the last couple years, but this feels like a return to the bad "barely hit it 200 yards" days.

Ive improved...maybe.....plus a hole in one!!!

+38 in the daily the other night.

2nd full round tonight at Valhalla is +19 including an ACE on the 3rd hole!!!! 2 birdies, 2 pars, 1 ace and a whole lot of bad holes.

Is there no way to view my scorecard on the daily? So wanted to see that 1 next to all of the 7s I had on the front nine.

Played another 18 holes or so after the daily...I can get fast tempo on drives pretty consistently. Don't understand pitching and chipping distances and can't putt at all.

The green grid will be on going forward. I made this weekly on day 1 and there was no way to edit it. I haven't made another one yet without the green grid.

Thank you Danimal for keeping the green grid ON! :!:

Without the grid on it is complete guess work to determine the break and about 80% of the time I guess wrong.

I have to say right form the jump I was able to his 230+ with my CAG at around 35 power. I have him up to 51 now and hit it 270+ on good swings.

My advice is to go play some offline and use the XP pin, then when it is empty use a refill pin on it. You get a lot more xp and can move the CAG up quicker.

I just birdied the 18th on the 1st round of Pebble to finish at -1 with my CAG and I Tiger fist-pumped like I won the Masters.

Did it with a fairly weak dude, too. (50/41/35/35/40/42)

As has been previously stated, getting the power up for drives is the key. Oddly, the lack of green grid didn't bother me much here, but I know I have three tougher rounds to go!!

Having a blast with this this year.

Yep, I agree. I was NOT looking forward to the CAG grind at all this year, but I equipped the XP pin and it really helps with the ascent out of suckitude.

Yep- I tripled the first hole and couldn't ever recover. Those were easy pins? Seemed like every hole was on the side of some hill. Finished +2

I did Valhalla this morning and didn't do half bad, I think +10 that put me in 5th. Not too bad considering some of my other rounds.

And I can't agree more about that XP pin. I slap it on before doing rounds in my golfers career and it really helps get the stats moving along. Power is really the one you need to concentrate on first, as I just couldn't reach some of the fairways. Once I was comfortable with that, I put points in putting and accuracy. So far it seems to be moving along at a much nicer clip than TW11, which was the last one I owned.

Royal County Down is my favorite course in TW 13 so far. A fantastic mix of a European-style links course and an American layout, without the barren, moonscape feel of some of the Scottish courses.

I hope we can play a daily or weekly there sometime. Think you cats will really dig it.

Would still love to use the Kinect, but it just gets too damn frustrating. Much like my real golf game!
I feel your pain. About 3 days ago I ditched playing with Kinect and picked up the controller because I am tired of Kinect taking shots for me when I don't swing and not taking shots when I swing. I have informed EA of these issues along with Tournament/Expert swing being virtually unplayable. I hope this gets patched.

Playing with the controller is so challenging and to PK and others who have asked how to hit a Perfect tempo shot in Tournament/Expert, you got me. I can't physically do it. However, I can see how the swing speed forward can impart tempo that can dramatically alter your shot distances and results. It is amazing what they have done with the swing mechanic this year as they have introduced so much more gameplay and challenge to the game. Still doing alot of practicing and swing tuning, but I like the challenge so far.

Decided to go ahead and play Valhalla on the dailies last night. I parred 1,5 and 9...everything else was bogey or much worse. Wasn't doing too awful, compared to my earlier attempts, though, until I hit the par 3 with the island hole. Dropped the @#$%$#@ ball in the water twice, and the rest of the round was fubar. Shot a 98, which, to be fair, would be a proud moment in real life for me, breaking 100.

I'm going to miss the daily on Valhalla, which is a very cool course IMO, but plugging along on the weekly. +5, +4, +2. I'm actually hitting the ball pretty well, but choke on at least 2 birdie putts per round, and have on other calamity (6 putted 13 from 15 feet, etc...).

Regarding the putting green, it does help to have the grid or caddie on. Putting is so hard it's not going to make the game too easy. Btw, on the weekly, the caddie is on, so you can compare your read with caddie's recommendation (which is not always completely reliable).

I really wish you could see other players' scores in Daily and Weekly Tourney's in real time instead of having to wait until they've posted an 18 hole round before their score is added to the scoreboard. EA really missed the boat with this because just seeing other player's scores updating between holes can add a lot to the realism and tension of playing around while seeing others doing well in real time. All about the scoreboard chasing. :)

Any chance that when creating the OCC daily's that the prize money is disbursed a little less evenly? There doesn't seem to be much difference in prize money between the winner and 5th place.

And for the record I don't intend on winning any of these so I'm, in theory, boning myself here. I just noticed that I finished 5th or so and received almost the same amount of prize money as the winner.

I've been banging that gong since Live Tournaments were first introduced in Tiger 10. I finally got a response to my campaign this year from Mike DeVault in the official forum, for both hole by hole scoring updates in Live Tournaments and the ability to play Live tournament rounds in multiplayer groups. It was like it finally sunk in what I was describing and he thought 'yeah, that would be cool... we'll look at adding this functionality in the future'.

Both of these elements seem like they'd be givens during the design phase!? I guess one argument against the hole by hole scoring update would be in cases where you have multiple tries, and the scores you're seeing get wiped by the player who aborts and uses another try or submission. They could put a "p" for pending, in parentheses after the score to differentiate though.

The Live tournaments would be so much better if the game gave the player more information about what others were doing while playing. In Tiger 10 and 11, they would give reports of who scored birdies or eagles on the hole you were playing, for example. Heck, they could have had reports in Tiger 13 like what happened to me today in The DSP daily at Valhalla... "J Cauthen just 5-putted the first hole for a triple bogey!" (from 22 feet, no less  ) , now that would give some local spice to the game 8)

Tim, we were at 25 as of Friday, and I think all of those have been confirmed at this point. Danimal would have a better handle on that though. I'm working 72 hours a week presently, and I don't know my way around the menus and management nearly as well as I should.
