Ovechkin maybe? You have a limited imagination.

And I wonder what all the people singing his praises now would have said about his greatness? That's right -- nothing.fletcher21 wrote:I wonder what you would have said if the Pens got drilled 6-1. My guess is nothing. .toonarmy wrote: Some of you are so wishy-washy it's not even funny. Malkin goes from a good scorer to the most complete player in the NHL in the span of a couple months. Wow!
Still waiting on the supposed videos of your racing career that you promised would make me apologize to you for calling you out as being FOS. You're real good at riding on the backs of others and talking all sorts of crap about yourself, yet you never seem to be able to produce the goods. Come on, Fletcher, make me apologize for calling you out like you promised. (just busting you're chops btw, all in good fun -- I'd still like to see you're racing career highlights thoughfletcher21 wrote:Fatality! I hate Malkin, and said so in this very thread 2 months ago.XXXIV wrote:I read this board. When someone here discusses people hating I naturally assume it refers to people on this board not some board Ive never heard of.
I just cant imgaine a player that is harder to dislike than Malkin.
I see no reason to change anything I said then in light of the rest of the playoffs since.Malkin is a beast. Everyone know hows skilled he is, but I never appreciated how big and strong he is until watching him in person.
Unlike most Flyers fans, I don't bear much hatred for Crosby. He's a cryer but he works hard and keeps those legs churning more than any player in the league. While Crosby takes all the attention, Malkin is the real enemy; a hugely talented and physically large player, he has grossly outperformed Crosby in these playoffs, and he's always been a weasel responding to physical play with cheap shots and slashes.
It's been a running joke with me and my friends since last season how Malkin is my mortal enemy because the guy drives me nuts.
Personally, I don't dislike Geno one bit, he's a great skillful player, soft hands and when he wants to show his potential he's among the best. Malkin was pretty much invisible during the series with Philly, had lapses against WAS and we all know how he did during last year' finals. Don't know what it's with him but it seems that he can only elevate his game when he's feeling the pressure and the odds are against him and his team. A wake up call if you will. A professional like him should be constantly motivated and show up on a regular basis.toonarmy wrote:Surely Malkin's performance will put to rest all the haters who seem to think Ovechkin is so superior. Let's see: regular season points leader, playoff points leader, Conn Smythe, Stanley Cup. Even when Malkin was not scoring in the payoffs he was playing hard, good defense and was drawing attention to open up other guys on offense. It's scary to think what kind of points he would have put up if his line wasn't crap for a good part of the regular season and the Pens did not have a moron coach for most of the season.
The story as far as I know was that Sid and some other Pens were celebrating, and Detroit lined up to shake hands, Lidstrom first. Apparently Wings waited, and waited, and then started shaking hands.... so that when Crosby finally came over, there was only a few Wings left.10spro wrote:
Maybe Sid the Kid got himself wrapped up all in the moment, but did he not shake N. Lidstrom hands intentionally?
I am not sure how much you watched the Pens this year, but MT's lines and coaching decisions were baffling at best. The players absolutely hated the guy, not only for his style but also on a personal level. The team put up with it last year and did their best under the circumstances, but this year they had enough of his foolishness and it showed on the ice. The Pens looked like they were not even going to make the playoffs, then MT was fired. It's quite telling that a guy from the AHL with no NHL head coaching experience came in and the team became incredibly hot and secured a much higher seed than even their fans expected. Then, as the playoffs progressed and Bylsma got more comfortable with things, the team really came together and the rest is history. I am a HOF Boards junkie and followed the Pens board somewhat during the season, as well as watched a bunch of their games. I am not alone in thinking MT is a certified moron. He showed time and time again with his decisions and ability to get a pretty nice bunch of players to hate him that he is not very good head coaching material. We shall see if he does in the anything in the future.10spro wrote: I assume that you're calling M. Therrien a moron. Why is that? Didn't he just carry this team to the finals last year? Can he possibly forget how to coach all of the sudden or was it more his style of play (defense first) that eventually the star players tuned out? That doesn't make him a moron, the team was struggling, new blood was needed to save the season. Plain and simple.
Look at all the coaching changes the NHL has gone thru this year and when I look at the new bench bosses, almost 60% of the teams have gone through a coaching change already. That's amazing. The only moron that I can think of is G. Bettman and I guess those feelings are shared wherever his goes.
Don't think Kobe or Sid have admitted they've used performance-enhancing drugs, either.Feanor wrote:I don't think Arod belongs in a group with Crosby and Kobe who both won their first championships when they were 21 years old.
