The split keyboard will take some getting used to as I find it a bit small for my fingers.

The update is worth it alone for new enhanced Safari.
I don't mean to sound like a dummy, but what is "checkerboard"?

When you scroll quickly through webpages, it takes a while to refresh and you see the grey and white checkerboard pattern while the browser refreshes.

Yeah...keep getting some error about how it can't connect to do Apples servers after it downloaded the update and tries to install it. The biggest pain is that every time I try again I have to wait like 20 minutes for it to do the 'backup' which is SUPER SLOW. Not getting any error # like others are though...

Mine finally worked after a good three hours. Pain in the ass really.

My iPad downloaded the update, did it's thing. Forced me to do a restore and now my iTune is sitting and saying restoring iPad apps and has been like that for 2 f***in HOURS. Only like 4 apps made it back to my iPad and none of my music.

There is no synching screen on my iPad, just this wonderful churning alert box in iTunes.

If this eventually works I don't know if I want to even attempt my iPhone.

I got everything up and running and i am really liking it :)

Quick dumb question about iCloud. Do I access my music via MUSIC>MORE>Shared? Is that how iCloud works? Also, how does the ITunes WiFi Sync work? It says your device will automatically sync via WiFi when it is plugged in. Mine is plugged in and it isn't syncing. There is even a Sync Now button in the settings and it's not active. Anyone?

No problems here with the update. It surely beats having a product from RIM today.

Never mind...I figured it out. There is an option, within iTunes when you are hooked up via the cord, to turn it on. Just check the box. iTunes also has to be running on your Mac or PC. Seems odd that you have to leave iTunes constantly running...or am I missing something?

I was planning to buy more storage but when one compares one plan to the other strictly by how much it costs per GB, Google and Amazon offer better deals.

I'll wait.

For storage ya. But then again for simplicity I really didn't think it would be integrated all that well. MobileMe was hit and miss. I put an article to "read later" on my mac. And with in a few seconds it was on my phone.

Moving seamless between devices works really well.

Ditto. iPad 2 went quick on the first try. iPhone 4 OTOH is taking FOREVER to backup.

Just caught a great tip. They said to speed up the update, move (or delete) all your camera roll stuff (photos & videos). It sped things up for me significantly!

So let me get this straight...if you delete everything off of your device, it'll back it up quicker? Ya don't say.

Customized ringtones not working with the new update. Anyone have a clue how to get them back on the phone...or has it been nixed by iOS5?

Not sure what you mean nixed. You can have separate ringtones and text tones for any contact. You change them from the address book just like you are editing the address or phone number.

You can also create your own vibration "ring". This is done under settings >> sounds.

Got it fixed. Just had to uncheck and then check the ringtones in iTunes and re sync.

So due to an error I have both a 32 GB and 64 GB that I can use for my account.

With the 8 MP camera and 1080i video, I'm unsure how much space I will use. I do use a few apps but I don't have all 10 home screen loaded with apps. As for music, I mostly use spottily now and I only load a small percentage of my song library.

Not sure if I should stick with the 32 GB and feel the squeeze later on or just use the 64 GB.

Then should I just return the other one or sell the other phone. Does anyone have any experience selling iPhones. Or are they tied to an account etc. I knew a few people that bought a few 4 gen, unlocked them, and sold to them to essentially make back their cost. Unsure how to even go about doing that.

If you have no idea what goes into selling phones, then you're better off just returning the one you don't want. It's kind of a hassel if you've never activated it on your account. Sometimes, especially with iPhones, the carriers tie them to your account so you have to activate it first. This prevents people from buying 5 and selling the extras as "brand new" phones.

I've jailbroken the iPhone before, I just choose not to.

What goes into selling phones. You sell the phone. I assumed they tied them to the account and you have to unlock them. I just didn't know for sure. Because there are a lot of people on eBay selling their phones and not all of them are unlocked.
