Warioware was a big hit in my household last night. I think it is going to be very popular with the "non-gamer" crowd. My wife is in that category and loves it as much or more than Wii bowling so far. I can't wait to see my mom or in-laws give it a try. It should be a hoot.
I've never played a Warioware game before so it's fresh to me. It's just another example of Nintendo providing me and my family with a gaming experience we've never had before.
A barrage of minigames. Most last as little as 5 seconds and will task you with doing something quickly. You're supposed to figure out what needs to be done and figure it out quick. I've heard that the Wii version slows down a little by putting instructions on the screen for the Wiimote though. It's not the type of game you can play for long sessions, it's meant for shorter bursts of play.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.
It plays into the whole 'just using the controller is fun' thing the Wii has going for it. I think that Leebo is right, that non-gamers will get a kick out of it:
I'm leaning towards getting it myself, though I'm not sure when I'll pull the trigger. The original WarioWare for GBA is one of my favorite games of all time, though the DS sequel was only okay.
I was extremely skeptical. In fact, I have owned both a GBA and a DS without ever purchasing a Warioware title. However, it is strangely addictive trying to beat your high score and figure out how to play the microgames. The presentation is so different and artistic in its own unique way. It's hard to explain but it is just fun to watch the game and even more fun to watch someone else play.

Yeah, wario ware games do have a nice old-school arcade/high score feel to them. If you just played through the levels once and quit you're missing out on 80% of the fun imo.
Just a heads up, Walmarts are starting to get shipments of Wii's. However in the email we got this morning, we were told that we could not sell them until Jan 28th for some unknown reason.

Haven't played mine in a while either. Just the occasional Super Mario Bros or Sonic on the virtual console. I knew going in that it wasn't going to put in a whole lot of playing time, but I also know I'm not going to invest a lot of money in to it either. That doesn't mean I'm unhappy with my purchase. It's the perfect family console that the 360 is not. I'm not afraid of letting my son mess around on the system as I am with the 360. Plus, if I ever get off my duff and rent some Game Cube games, he might get more fun out of it.
Plus, we have to give the Wii some time and let the developers wrap their brains around it. Just my feeling, but it seems they're more excited developing for the Wii than they are for the 360 and the PS3. I think there's a lot too look forward to.
Supposedly Best Buy stores are going to have a minimum of 20 per store on Sunday morning, if I don't get one tomorrow then f*** it I give until spring.

Yeah, and the Target and Circuit City ads also have Wii. Circuit City's states vouchers will be handed out one hour prior to opening.
Finally got one at Best Buy, arrived an hour and a half before they opened and sat in my truck for a half hour before a line started forming at the door and found out they had been handing out tickets all morning so I ended up getting #15 out of 30 at my store.
That's great, Vader. What games did you get? I know there aren't a ton of good games out yet, but I think I'm set for awhile. I really like Zelda, Wii Sports, and Madden. I'm not as fond of Trauma Center as some, but it a good change of pace. My wife and I really enjoy Wario and when we get bored with that will probably try Mario Party. All those games and SSX and Tiger Woods should get us through to the fall.
FINAL-WII!!! I was about #25 in line (with 30 Wiis) at BB this morning. Only had to stand out in the snow for about 15 minutes too. I can't believe there are still 25+ people wating in line at multiple stores (Target had them too) 3 weeks after Christmas for these.

Congrat Matt!

I didn't pick any games up today, I was just so excited to be able to finally get a system with Wii Sports but will probably end up picking up Madden soon and definitely am interested in Tiger Woods and SSX Blur. Bowling is really fun, it was the first game I played and my best score in five trys was a 167. Now I just have to set up my wireless router to get the internet channels working. Definitely going to have a lot of fun with this system.
Finally landed one myself. Having trouble getting wireless to work. Anyone have trouble getting it connected to their wireless network? I've made sure the WEP password is correct and it's on auto IP and DNS but no go.
