As an advocate of the 'support your local football team' idea, I was both thrilled and delighted to note that Fernando's home town, that place starting with Scun and ending with thorpe which continues to make the forum filter a bit jittery, is on the other side of England to Liverpool. Not just a prat, then, but a glory-chasing prat at that. My favourite kind.

It's bad enough being the kind of cretin who'd willingly change his name to that of a Spanish footballer, but lacking the good sense to let the transfer window pass first is the mark of a truly special brand of f*ckwit. If this was the third annual North Lincolnshire Crashing Bell-End exhibition he'd win Best In Show.

Pulling for Charlie Davies this week. On trial with DC United for a potential loan. If DC decides he's not still health enough at this point, would be a major setback for him.

What a great game between Bayern Munich and FC Cologne going on. I highly recommend watching the replay on ESPN3 if you have a chance.

I was absolutely livid at the Toon when they went down 4-0 to the Gunners in the first half. The way the boys battled back in the second to make it a 4-4 draw was nothing short of incredible. One of the greatest comebacks in EPL history to be for sure, if not the greatest. Unreal stuff!

Indeed - absolutely amazing. What a goal by Tiote and also glad he got it because he's been one of the best EPL newcomers this season IMO. Great comeback but Arsenal really sh!t the bed - disappointed because they're the only ones challenging United right now.

Is there anyway to catch this game. Ahem even torrent wise. I missed most of the games this morning because apparently I only show up to watch boring matches.

I watched City manhandle West Brom this morning. The match was pretty much decided in the 1st half as City sat back soaking up whatever little pressure Brom had on them, although J. Hart did have a couple of brilliant saves for MC. They haven't lost a game yet when Tevez scores.

Someone on Twitter astutely pointed out that the game may have been more entertaining if Chelsea had given Torres a run out. :)

The other comment that amused me was that Chelsea's strikers cost 80 million and Liverpool couldn't be bothered to play with any strikers at all.

Wow, I get sent to Los Angeles on business and don't even realize that Wednesday sacked their manager. Anyone have an opinion of Megson? I know he managed Bolton for a bit.

He left Bolton in a similar manner to the way Roy Hodgson just left Liverpool.

Argentina beats Portugal in the last minute of the game via penalty kick converted by L. Messi 2-1. It was a chilly night in Switzerland in which Portugal had chances to score early in the 1st and 2nd half of the match. Almeida and Meireles were creating headaches to the Argentinian defense. But once Di Maria and Messi took charge of the midfield, the match started to tilt towards the Albiceleste.

It's too bad that Bento decided to bench Ronaldo in the second half as fans wanted to see more of him vs Messi, but it was a friendly and once Pastore came in, Cambiasso found his rhythm and Argentina started creating more chances.

Arrogant, thoroughly dislikeable hoofball merchant with a knack for ending up the least popular man in whichever city he's managing in. Having said that, there's no reason why a manager whose primary tactic involves smacking a long ball and seeing what happens shouldn't do very well in the lower leagues.
