s***! You beat me to it! Was just about to post that.

35 million is madness! So what if he was good in Falcon Crest, apart from from straight to video movies he's done f*** all since the 80s.

I hope Fernando knows that if he goes to Chelsea, John Terry is going to try to bang his wife and Frank Lampard will likely eat his children. At least at Liverpool he knows as long as he lets Gerrard play Phil Collins in the dressing room no one gets hurt.

To be fair, Lampard will only eat the kids if Torres is negligent enough to let them get baked into pies...or slow down long enough for Lampard's butler to properly season them. :)

Internet is positively insane with rumors about an LFC sweep for Adam and Ashely Young in addition to Suarez and Carroll. I'd have to admit that would be a good day's business, but it seems a bit unlikely within such a narrow time frame.

Edit: The Falcon Crest line was top notch. LOL

Indeed!

I just can't believe it. After years under H&G of Rafa getting second choice players(e.g. wanted Simao, can't afford him, get Pennant instead) and budget options (Kyriagkos, Ngog, etc) it's doing my head in to think Liverpool are going to spend THIRTY FIVE MILLION POUNDS on Carroll. As Rob said, Villa cost less, Dzeko cost less (and he shits on Carroll IMO), s*** couldn't they get Kun for that money? Forlan? Bueller?

Rob,
Glad you got the Falcon Crest reference. :) Bringing in Adam and Young as well would be good business but I agree with you - I don't think there's enough time and I also don't think Villa want to sell Young.

I'm excited about Suarez - provided he doesn't bite anyone....

Soccernet has it that Newcastle has rejected the 35M bid, 40M bid is supposedly on the table now.(Though that might have been rejected as well, not sure)

FORTY MILLION!?!?!

I think I liked it better when we had no money.

Anyway, my favourite transfer rumour of the day;

Manchester United deny that Howard Webb is for sale. Word is he's going to resign a new 5 year deal with them.

I'm surprised Sky didn't say he was in a helicopter - tends to be their favourite rumour.

Anyway, LFC offical site says Newcastle have accepted Liverpool's bid.

Suarez and Carroll eh?

14 for Adams, around 40 for Carroll. Around 50 for Torres.

Not to be outdone, Spurs bid £30 million for Guiseppe Rossi.

It's a dream sequence, mate. Some kind of mind control exercise - that's the only explanation for us all being here and all seeing the same nonsense. We'll come round soon enough.

I think, though I'm not promising, that I'd prefer that to what's actually unfolding before my eyes.

To sum up where we are so far, there are four big deals on the cards
today, Fernando Torres' move from Liverpool to Chelsea for a fee of
around £50 million is imminent. Andy Carroll is going from Newcastle to Liverpool
for £35 million - he has just arrived at their training ground. We understand Charlie Adam is heading for Liverpool to
chat about a £10 million move, and David Luiz is heading for Chelsea for £21 million.

with Redkanpp and City yet to leave the starting blocks.

Scouser's reaction is the same as always: "Look boys, fresh hubcaps!!"

As for Suarez's predilections, I suggested a Guardian headline on Twitter yesterday:

Suarez completes first training session.
Says Gerrard an inspirational skipper...tastes like chicken.

That would be apart from Eden Dzeko of course, who differs from Carroll in that he is actually a quality player, and not a classless pisshead carthorse who's true value is about £5m. Charlie Adam, £10m ??

I'd be pissing meself if Donkey and Bitey signed for the thieves, and then Torres failed to agree terms with the Russian moneylaunderer.

Andy Carroll...the Kevin Davies de nos jours.

Oh, and whither Fergie's £100m warchest ?

Apparently Liverpool have put in a bid for Micah Richards. Do they think they have another week left before deadline?

At least they are aware that they need improvement in the back as well.

I feel much better today about the 24 million Villa paid for Bent. If they'd waited till deadline the asking price would have been 45.

Wow ive missed a lot today eh.
35 for Carroll is unbelievable but the reference to Davis Dave seriously? I have actually seen Carroll score a goaL.
Ashley Young?? who was the last defender he beat, Paul Konchesky?

I like Suarez and ill take Carroll but not for that much Adam ill have the rest can rot on the teams they are already on.

Lucas doesnt seem so bad after all. Oh and did i tell Meireles is now my favorite player.

Robbie Fowler must have a spare property in Liverpool with a bit of 12-year-old blow stashed in the closet. :)

Fat Mike made out like a bandit. Here's how I rank the deal in order of who made out the best.

#1 Mike Ashley.
#2 Liverpool
#3 Newcastle
#4 Chelsea

I don't think Torres can stay healthy long enough to be valuable to Chelsea. All the transfers this winter where emergency deals with overpriced players moving. 35m for Carroll that's batshit crazy.
