2008 NFL Season

Well, AFC East isn't necessarily the best division in the league.
Has any team thrown big money at Cowher yet?
Everyone seemed to expect that he would only be out of football 1 year when he left Pittsburgh.
Has he been turning down money? Or maybe Tomlin's immediate success with the Steelers dulled Cowher's resume a bit.

From top to bottom, I'd say it is. Hell, there is an 11 win team that is NOT going to the playoffs and a 9-7 team and a 7-9 team. I'll take that division over any other one. The NFC south is in the discussion though.wco81 wrote:Well, AFC East isn't necessarily the best division in the league.

It's in the top three in terms of competitiveness. The NFC East is the king, but the NFC South isn't too shabby, either. The AFC East is right there with the NFC South.wco81 wrote:Well, AFC East isn't necessarily the best division in the league.
There are no easy divisional games in the AFC East.
I think we can all agree the biggest joke in the NFL is the NFC West.
Take care,
PK

The NFC East was great for 8 weeks. Went into the sh*tter in the past 8 though. They are out. NFC South is the only one in the discussion.pk500 wrote:It's in the top three in terms of competitiveness. Not quite sure what the point of this statement is. We're talking about the merits of a division from top to bottom, not how far the one team (based on the sh*tty WC system, should have two teams) goes.wco81 wrote:For all those wins, only one team is going to the playoffs and probably isn't going to advance very far.

If a team wins 12 games and loses in it's first playoff game, that is not a successful year. I think that's what wco meant by that. All the regular season wins don't mean s*** in the playoffsdbdynsty25 wrote:Not quite sure what the point of this statement is. It's horrible man. This is the Twins dugout.fletcher21 wrote:JD, I'm surprised Metrodome security wasn't there to put a stop to your little fun picture lol.. Looks like you had that dump to yourselves! Is there a worse professional stadium you've ever been in? I've never been in a worse Pro stadium than the Dome. That place has the atmosphere of a senior citizen center or a library lol

GM's office was nice.

Nice lock huh?

This isn't a newsflash but the roof sucks ass for baseball!!

Coolest coach at the camp. Brian Raabe.

Back on topic. Things that made me smile today.
Pats didn't make the playoffs.
Cowboys didn't make the playoffs.
Favre didn't make the playoffs.
Bears didn't make the playoffs.(Sorry Todd,Rob and any other fans that I like in this forum.)
Packers completed the Lions 0-16 season.
Dolphins made the Playoffs with a rookie head coach and Chad Pennington.
Falcons made the playoffs with a rookie QB and coach.
Ravens **Read line above**.
And last but not least. The Cowboys didn't make the playoffs!!

And like all things that roll, they eventually come to a halt. Great season for the Dolphins but I see a repeat of earlier this year. Baltimore's defense is a pretty scary sight and I just do not see the Dolphins being able to put up enough points.dbdynsty25 wrote:The Dolphins position in the AFC East:

Gonna see a lot of images similar to this

Unfortunately I agree. I HATE the matchup with the Ravens. I'd have much rather seen the Chargers/Broncos or maybe even the Colts. The Ravens matchup very well with Miami and it scares me. But you still won't see many images like that. The Dolphins don't give up many sacks or turnovers (yes, they set the record this year for the least given up in a 16 game season).
I also dread a Ravens matchup as they beat up the Phins this season. All the media here in Miami was interested with was Cam Cameron and trying to get him to admit he was a loser. He handled the jokers in Miami with class by saying he didn't get the job done and it was all on him. Then he had his offense beat our defense.
And still the Miami beat writers won't let it go.

I thought I read that Mike Shannahan might be on the hot seat if he didn't get to the playoffs this year. There's now talk of Chucky getting the axe in Tampa even though he got an extension. It looks like another round of coaches getting fired after the instant success of this years Dolphins, Falcons, Ravens and Panthers.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Everyone's talking about the Cowboys mess, but the Broncos just finished one hell of collapse of their own.
And this is coming from a Mets fan.
The Jets collapse was pretty good too. Though probably the most predictable.Rodster wrote:I thought I read that Mike Shannahan might be on the hot seat if he didn't get to the playoffs this year. Edit:Dont want to forget the Bucs. This was a good year for collapses.

All of the Belichick disciple coaches sure are looking great right now, eh?
Mangini -- probably gone. Crennel -- all but gone. Charlie Weis -- what a joke.
Take care,
