AC Milan 2 Stuttgart 0
Shots 24/9
SOT 9/1
Penalties 0/0
Free Kicks 9/9
Offside 1/0
yellow 1/0
red 0/0
Poss 51/49
Goals:
Gilardino 5' 65'
Yellow: Jankulouski - Milan
Gilardino opened the scoring before many in the San Siro had taken their seats. A run down the left side resulted in a very poor angle shot that beat the Stuttgart keeper. The next 35 minutes belonged to Stuttgart as some nifty passing and team speed took advantage of what appeared to be a vulnerable back line for AC Milan. Numerous quality scoring chances inside the area were spoiled by incredibly poor shooting. Cacau, Heldt and Tommasson all made a habit of missing the net wide or high.
The second half saw AC find their stride and took back control of the game. A Milan corner led to a nice one touch to Gilardino who doubled the home sides lead with a soft shot to the left edge of the net.
Stuttgart brought more men forward looking to trim the led but fatigue and a excellent defense by Milan kept the boys from germany scoreless on the season.

Great game Squid, I really enjoyed it. See you in a few weeks in Germany!

AC Milan beat Feynoored (sp?) 4-3 last night. I left the stats at home as I went to bed right after wards. AC Milan took the lead 3 times and Fey equalized each of those three times, but could not answer the 4th. AC's defense looked as suspect as ever against the through ball and were made to pay each of the three times.

One quick note:
The brief match reports, the ones with just the stats, are fine, but the names of the goal scorers need to be noted in those reports (preferably identified by team as well).
Also, I noticed in the one game Boro has played that they are credited with four goals, but only three goals show up in the player stats. Was one an own goal (we have a column for that with the half scores)?
Again, the most critical thing to keep track of is Ws and Ls, and then GF and GA. The player stats are just icing, but it would be nice to get them as correct as we can.
Thanks!
EDIT:
OK, so I fixed the Boro game. Looks like Macaroni wasn't added to the team yet. But thanks to piggie's match report here which listed the goal scorers, I was able to get everything in order.
Pigpen: it's easy to add players to your team; just click on the team name to go to the team page, and click on 'add player.' If you don't see an 'add player' link, you are either not signed in or something is weird with permissions and I'll have to get in touch with Jason.
Thanks!

Milan sneaks out of Manchester with a 2-0 victory. It was ugly, but Vieri was able to turn on his man and score the opener. The second goal came on a soft penalty that the young Gilardino slotted home.
