No. Based on the footage back in January I think I stated clearly that I wasn’t going to get the game. I am not sure even about WT Tour coming up in a couple of weeks. They must have had a patch in between to fix some issues because it’s definitely playable and a challenging one at that.

There’s a bit of a learning curve, you gotta balance well when to hit the type of shot that you want, and based on the angle that you are and if you keep hitting the aggressive shot, your stamina drains a bit.

I don’t read much from IGN and I wonder if they reviewed the game back in January when it was originally released. It’s not a bare bones tennis game, but it’s not Topspin 4 either.

The meat of the game seems to be in your career, just creating your character is a lot of fun and if you can watch some of the videos that I posted, gameplay is quite realistic.

AgaIn, I am not sure if it’s been added to the Xbox Pass. I am a Tennis nut so I went for it for $50 here north of the border. It’s probably a bit cheaper where you guys are but I would definitely give it a shot if your kids like the sport.

If you’re just a casual fan, I would wait for the game to come down to about $30 bucks, but it’s been too long for me without a tennis game.

I am enjoying it and once you got the learning curve, you will enjoy it much more. I found it on the Xbox store and AO stands for Australian Open.

Yeah, it's still 50 bucks here. With world tour around the corner, we'll wait. Honestly, I'd rather have an arcade tennis game. I like the real thing, but am just in "more fun, less learning curve" mode now.

To be quite honest Teal, AO wasn’t in my radar at all based on what I saw in early January. Then I watched a few YouTube videos on the game this week and I realized that the gameplay was not as bad as I thought it was then. Watched a few others playing, and along with my hunger for the sport, I took a chance. Mind you, WT tennis gameplay from what I watched didn’t impress me much either.

There are flaws for sure here, if I wanted to be more technical, I want to see more of a follow through on both forehand and backhand shots, drop shots work but they don’t have that element of surprise, want to see more power on the serves, etc.

But again, the game is challenging enough and I am having fun recreating some players that are not in the game. Career mode is deep and while the visuals are not necessarily top notch, I am quite content with my purchase.

Again, I am a tennis nut sooo...

I interpreted that memo from Best Buy as the company not accepting new members but grandfathering benefits for existing members.

Follow-up: It appears benefits only will be grandfathered through the term of your existing membership. No renewals or new purchases are being sold. Oh, well, goodbye, Best Buy once my GCU expires. Hello, Amazon Prime.

According to some CAG members, it appears that Amazon was matching BB's discount for new games. Some are speculating Amazon will drop their discounts on new games as well. If you already have Amazon Prime there's nothing to lose, if you're not a Prime member I would wait to see what Amazon does.

Amazon is a very fast follower. They already went from a straight match of GCU to 20% off preorders, I would be shocked if that lasts much longer now that Best Buy decided to bury GCU.

Hell of a run for gamers, the financials for the program were insane once the fee dropped to $30. Moving forward I’ll probably buy more digital games and take fewer chances on borderline titles.

At this point, it makes more sense to wait for GwG, PS+, or EA Access for borderline games.

H1Z1 Battle Royale is on PS4. Its a more arcady version of PUBG. Its nothing revolutionary but somewhat fun...and free.

I like the battle royale games, but they need to have their own flair. I really love the tactical style of PUBG, but their is no progression or tracking system, so it gets a little stale. Hopefully that gets reworked. Fortnite is awesome with all the updates and enhancements keeping the game fresh, but I don't care for the gameplay and building mechanics in that game. I'm definitely intrigued by the Blackout mode in the upcoming Black Ops 4 game.

Every games doesn't need a Battle Royale mode. It needs to naturally fit developers need to think it through before releasing one.

Here's another chance to get in on a PSN 20% off code. Watch the "Quest" trailer for Detroit Become Human and claim your prize. Btw this is the first time i've seen this game and it looks totally badass. I'll be buying it.

I saw an impression from a journalist a few days ago that was kind of letdown. I would wait for reviews.

Took the plunge on Xbox Game Pass for $1 during the special this month.

Two games so far have surprised me so far with their fun factor:

1. Casey Powell Lacrosse 16. I live in Central New York, the cradle of lacrosse. The sport is BIG up here. And this game does a very good job of delivering a realistic lax game, even without any licensed college or pro teams.

2. theHunter: Call of the Wild. I'll admit it: I've never fired a firearm in my life other than a BB gun, but I've always had a soft spot for hunting games. Played Deer Hunter 2005 for hours upon hours on my laptop. And theHunter: Call of the Wild might be the best hunting game I've played. This is a sim, fellas. It's not Cabela's Deer Hunting in the arcade. You can play this game for an hour and track one deer and maybe kill it. The animals will be spooked easily. You need to judge the wind, use calls and other lures and be stealthy while tracking animals. And if your shot isn't accurate, you may spend a long time following the blood trail before you find the downed animal. No doubt this game is an acquired taste, but if you hunt or like realistic, unforgiving games, this is your hunting game. Plus the graphics are GORGEOUS, even on an OG Xbox One. The game is enhanced for the XB1X, so it must be breathtaking on that machine.

Yeah, I did the dollar pass too, and redownloaded Sea of Thieves. Not sure what they've done to it, but it feels more engaging. Had a blast with a random crew the other night, and we stormed a fort full of those damned skeletons, with a boss pirate skeleton that was damned tough to kill. But there was a ton of loot in their crypt.

Also dl'ed Halo Wars 2. Haven't played it yet. Will look into that hunting game.

Yep. Not paying $50 for it, though. Shocked? :)

I'm not sure how much fun this game would be for those who don't know lax, though. I know the sport, so I just jumped right in. But I'm not sure if there's much of a tutorial. Still, you probably could figure out the rules through trial and error, much like I did with the EA Rugby games last decade.

Funny, I know I'm one of the few here who knew who Casey Powell was before the game was released. He was a high school lax legend at Carthage High, about an hour north of Syracuse, and he was a golden god during his college career at Syracuse. :)

Think you'll dig it. Anyone who plays it and expects Duck Hunt or even one of the Cabela's games will be disappointed. But if you're in the mood to hunt realistically, be patient and see gorgeous scenery, this game hits the bull's eye.

Holy s***, how did I not know about this game?! That is freaking beautiful! No music, no filler, just nature and the hunt. You're right, you have to be very careful to watch the wind, watch where you're stepping, or you'll never see the animal. Just hear her trotting away. That's okay, because I can spend hours just walking through the incredible environments, hear the rain begin to fall, see everything get a wet sheen to it, hear the distant call of a buck and the answer of a doe... It's cathartic as anything I've ever played. I'm completely enraptured. I downed the first one I came across cleanly, but managed a flesh wound on the second, and simply couldn't find it after that. This one will likely be purchased apart from the pass over the month is gone, unless the wheels really fall off. WAY better than the best offering from Cabela's.
