Hee, hee. Schneids is much more compact in his movements, more economical if you will, while Louie tends to flop more under pressure. Coach V did say that he was going with the guy that would give his team a better chance to win and at his time is #35. Momentum is everything in the playoffs and it looks like Canucks are making the Kings think more now. Big 3rd period for VAN. Do or die baby.Jimmydeicide wrote:Agreed it was just for a change in momentum wasnt it? Put Luongo back in please im much more confident Kings will score when hes in net, not with Schneider now i know how you feel with the way Quick is playing.10spro wrote:Yeah, and not that Luongo was to blame for the first two games of the series. But win or lose, GM M. Gillis will have an interesting summer ahead as to what to do with a Bobby Lou if he's not to be the 'Nucks #1 stopper.Jimmydeicide wrote:Best Kings period of the series by far . That means nothing in this series. How can there even be a question is the right goalie in for Canucks Schneider has been unbelievable in both games so far.

Team USA will have no worries in the goaltending department for years to come. Both Quick and Schneider are outstanding. Big stop by Schneids against Brown.
And what a difference Daniel is to VAN. The Twins are playing their cycling game again, they look more confident for sure.

Huge win in LA to extend the series. My only gripe is that game 5 is not until Sunday. Go Canucks go. Schneider all the way!

Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
The officiating in last night's Flyers game was pretty ridiculous and killed the game in the second period, but that's what happens when the Flyers get casual on D and the Penguins control their emotions and play focused hockey.
Game 5 will dictate whether this game was a meaningless blip on the radar, or a real turning point.
Also, I have gotten myself all worked up about Malkin headshotting Grossmann, which amazingly did not get called in a game in which it was 2 minutes for breathing heavily at an opponent. I yelled at my TV when it happened, and immediately rewinded to watch again. I can't believe even the Flyers homer announcers didn't take note. Textbook rule 48.1, and completely gratuitous shoulder lunge targeting the head.
Grossmann may be out with a concussion now, but that may be due to another high check he absorbed from Kennedy, which was high and reckless but not as gratuitous and obviously illegal.

A friend of mine tried to say Lundqvist was screened on that shot. Bullsh*t: That was a centimeter-perfect wrister by Turris that Lundqvist saw the whole way.Lancer wrote:Wow great win by the Sens. Exciting!

There was definitely no screen. That shot was a beauty and perfect, as you say. For a shot like that to beat Lundqvist this year it has to be perfect, and it was. There's no shame in losing like that when a guy can make a shot that perfect.pk500 wrote:A friend of mine tried to say Lundqvist was screened on that shot. In todays news, sports biggest cowardly f***, gary bettman takes a stand. Is it to stop the head shots? NO... Player safety? NO ...Is it the disgraceful play in the playoffs? HELL NO! ... Its to defend gary's kids disgraceful performance.
As Raffi Torres prepares for a disciplinary hearing that will determine his playoff availability, Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville was fined $10,000 for criticizing the officials who missed Torres' hit.

Saw an interview with Hank after the game, and he made no mention of being screened. He just said the shot got there before he thought it would, so he was a bit behind.
I'm probably a bit biased because of living in Ottawa, but I think this series has been the best one of the first round.......

Caps-Bruins series is right up there too as Washington just evened even it up. All four games decided by one goal.
That has to be the worst home clock operator in the world as he waited a good 3-4 seconds to start the clock on the last draw of the game.
Meanwhile the Hawks are bleeding without Hossa as they are down 2-1 in the 3rd and about to join their buddies the Red Wings in the down 3 games to 1 position.

Caps are living on the edge and relying a ton on Holtby, but dude is cool as hell between the pipes and just doesn't give up rebounds. It doesn't hurt them either that the Bruins first two lines have been non-existent. Credit to Washington though, they have the Bruins talking to themselves and head to game 4 with a definite mental edge.XXXIV wrote:Caps-Bruins series is right up there too as Washington just evened even it up. Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Hawks tie it on a Frolik rebound goal with a bit over a minute to play. Now looks like a fourth straight OT game.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Im sure they are frustrated as hell but I would take a 45-21 shot advantage every time. Caps got to get better on both ends to win this.RallyMonkey wrote:Caps are living on the edge and relying a ton on Holtby, but dude is cool as hell between the pipes and just doesn't give up rebounds. Crawford another Soft Goal
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Not a great goal but it was a partial break due to Leddy's over play. Bad all the way around. 3-1 going back to Phoenix doesnt look good at all.Lancer wrote:Crawford another Soft Goal
I have seen it quite a few times now and I still cant figure how it got under him.
Also cant give all the blame for the terrible play on that to Leddy, O'Donnel with a failed pinch started it off.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
F'n Marleau ..... Roenick is still right.

A leader like Marleau should take a long look at the mirror. A 3-1 lead reflects well the advantage for your Blues. Elliot is making everyone forget Halak.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
5.3 seconds were added! I was praying the Bruins wouldn't score, simply because I did not want to have the controversy.XXXIV wrote:Caps-Bruins series is right up there too as Washington just evened even it up. All four games decided by one goal.

Actually just reading the explanation now makes me feel a little better;
"With 9.5 seconds remaining in the third period, there was a stoppage and resulting face-off in the Washington zone. During the stoppage, the game clock operator and Series Manager determined that 0.9 seconds should have been added to the time remaining in the third period and attempted to contact the on-ice officials to delay the puck drop to accommodate making the necessary clock adjustment to 10.4 seconds remaining.
"The off-ice officials were not able to attract the attention of the referees or linesmen despite sounding the horn, which was not audible due to crowd noise, and the puck was dropped.
"The NHL Situation Room in Toronto immediately was aware that the clock had not started for 5.3 seconds after the face-off and, therefore, would have disallowed a goal scored with 5.3 seconds or less showing on the clock."

Glad I am not the only guy that thinks Shanny has fumbled the ball a few times:
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/h ... le2408302/
And even though he does the right thing in the Torres suspension, the fact that he just fined Weber and gave only a day vacation to J. Neal will be his post mortem after the playoffs. And we still have another month and a half to go and perhaps more controversies on the way.

Although I have stated that any of the top 8 teams in the West were capable of winning the conference, it is kind of shocking that by Monday the only teams standing are NAS, PHO, Blues and LA.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Crawford is getting kicked around a lot. It was a soft goal, but I think some of the critics are overlooking bigger problems with the Hawks as a whole. Taking the easy way out.
