Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
Why isn't all of this talk in the appropriate Apple products thread instead of the Game/App thread?
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

I really liked the iPhoto demo.ScoopBrady wrote:Why isn't all of this talk in the appropriate Apple products thread instead of the Game/App thread?
The Epic game looked good too, especially at the end where it goes from almost a top-down view to a zoomed in view to show how big the boss is compared to the guy you're controlling. Maybe this Dungeons game will be a full game instead of mostly a tech demo, as Infinity Blade was accused of being.
I could see them sell it for cheap but have a bunch of DLC like weapons upgrades and additional levels for in-app. purchase.

Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nations is one of those games that I waited forever for a sale as my buddy told me that the MP mode on this game was like crack for a game on a tablet. I bought it for $6.99 around New Years and is well worth it. With the release of the new iPad, this game is supposed to look amazing with the newer resolution and the best part is that gameloft is selling it now for .99 cents to celebrate the release of the 3rd generation iPad. If You like shooters, this is a steal.

If you guys aren't using Flipboard on your iPads right now you are missing out...especially on the new retina display. By far the best and prettiest news aggregator out there. Free too!
Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
I just started using this app last week, and now it's probably my most used app. I love flipping through the news of my favorite news sites, my google reader feeds, even a little twitter and facebook postings.dbdynsty25 wrote:If you guys aren't using Flipboard on your iPads right now you are missing out...especially on the new retina display. Great on the iPhone. Some people like Zite more because it tries to predict the kind of stories you like.

Zite is better for discovering "news".wco81 wrote:Great on the iPhone. Some people like Zite more because it tries to predict the kind of stories you like.
Flipboard is better for reading your own feeds or for finding a feed.
I never really liked Flipboard mostly because in some stories you still have to go to the website to read the article. Now this isn't Flipboard's fault. When I used it their in-app browser sucked. So it was a 3 click process to read it on safari's reader.
To be honest, they are two different apps with different takes on news. I have both but use Zite more.

Having a blast with the new space Angry birds.
Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
Anybody get into Draw Something? It's the new iOS game phenom, something like 30 million DLs in a short time.
Guess it's something like a multiplayer Pictionary. Apparently the developers were clearing $250k a day but they just sold to Zynga for $200 million.

Draw Something is cool...tho it's getting old after playing it for a weekend with the wife. I mean there is only so much you can do since you're not actually competing with anything.
Just a way for you interact w/ your wife without actually talking to each other I guess.

Draw something was fun, but now every Facebook friend that also plays it has me being overwhelmed. Now I'm just ignoring all the requests.

EA's Burnout Crash is now on the App store for $5. Will consider buying it once they have it on sale.
Re: IPhone/ITouch/IPad Game App Thread
Put that on my appshopper list waiting for a sale. The only question is will I buy the initial ~$3 sale, for wait for the inevitable $1 sale later.10spro wrote:EA's Burnout Crash is now on the App store for $5. Will consider buying it once they have it on sale.
One game a I recently bought was Final Freeway 2R for $1. Nice little Outrun homage.

I've been trying to get good at Ascension, 'cause I like it, but don't have much experience with card-type games. Hit me up on gamecenter (Slumberland there too) if you want to rumble.
Also picked up Spelltower. I LOVE that.
Trying to learn Ticket to Ride and Caracassone too. I wish there was a Small World with online play.

I only played the actual board game once, but I play a lot of Ticket to Ride on iPad. Pretty easy to learn, and on the iPad you can bang out a game vs CPU opposition in ~10 minutes while watching TV or something.Slumberland wrote:I've been trying to get good at Ascension, 'cause I like it, but don't have much experience with card-type games. Smash Cops is free today if anyone is interested, it's gotten good reviews. I'll try it out later.
