Pigpen, if you want to watch movies as well I would go with the 16 GB, depends also how much music you got in your library, 32GB is nice but you're also in another price category.
Lots of fun free games, the cool thing is that if you don't like it you can erase them from your itouch. I am currently away from town and I am using the WI-FI from the hotel, if you want the basics checking emails etc, the itouch will do.
Just make sure you get a screen protector primarily and a case as well. A cool gadget to say the least.

I finally got around to downloading the new MLB app yesterday...what a great app at an absolutely awesome price. It was so nice being at the office yesterday and being able to listen to the Cards game using either set of announcers (though I'll always choose to listen to Mike Shannon's call of the game). For $10, this really is a no brainer for baseball fans.greggsand wrote:The inclusion of Game Day Audio is a slam dunk. Although, once the Slingbox app is out, the SB App + Extra Innings Package at the house will probably take over. But what's $10, 2 hands of blackjack?Diablo25 wrote:MLB At Bat 09 App is out. It is $9.99 this year. A bit steep price wise but game day audio from either the home or away team is streamed this year...very cool. When this is considered I think $9.99 is a pretty value.

Again, if u have an iPod jack in your car (or FM transmitter I suppose), you can have your choice of baseball games in your car for $10. Beats a $16+ per month subscription for XM... love it.

Agree 100%. Also, love it in the car when driving around. Who needs the baseball package on XM?GTHobbes wrote:I finally got around to downloading the new MLB app yesterday...what a great app at an absolutely awesome price. Well there are rumors that Dell was coming out with a smart phone but the carriers rejected it so they may sell it unlocked directly to consumers.
Then the rumors over the weekend of a Zune HD, which may be a prelude to a phone from MS with Zune features.

Then the rumors over the weekend of a Zune HD, which may be a prelude to a phone from MS with Zune features.
Lot of rumors in the last couple of weeks.
Rumors of a iPhone lite and tablet device for Verizon.
Rumors of a "Pink" phone from Microsoft on Verizon.
Rumors of Sony pushing out a new PSP with no UMD to prevent the iPhone from getting a foothold.
I don't know, most of the games on the iPhone appear to be casual games, with graphics really not threatening PSP games at least.
Tiger Woods just came out and it looks rough very close up.
But I've downloaded a bunch of free games and many of them aren't even 3D.
Nintendo, they have all the first-party titles which are mega-blockbusters, although the DSi can be seen as an attempt to provide non-gaming features in the way the iPhone offers gaming in addition to the non-gaming features.
Swiss-knife approach means individual features are not as good as dedicated devices, except the iPod part of the iPhone is better than the regular iPods (Classic and Nano) for visual media.

On a slightly related subject, are you happy with the quality of the ear buds or are there better ones out there?MUTTS wrote:With the MLB app and slacker radio, my time on the tractor mowing three acres is very enjoyable. Excellent sound quality. In years past I would listen to real radio while mowing and the reception sucked.
Very nice!

There are plenty of earphones that destroy the sh*t that apple packs in with their phones. These are the ones I prefer if you need to have a mic as well:Murph wrote:On a slightly related subject, are you happy with the quality of the ear buds or are there better ones out there?MUTTS wrote:With the MLB app and slacker radio, my time on the tractor mowing three acres is very enjoyable. Makes sense considering Blackberry is still considered the "businessman's phone" when it comes to corporate accounts.Murph wrote:Report: BlackBerry Curve overtakes iPhone as most popular smartphone

I think Blackberry's international plans are for email which goes through their servers but not for web browsing or any other kind of data for which the new smartphones are offering all kinds of apps.
I'd be surprised if Blackberrys are able to roam for minimal cost overseas while other brands have to pay through the nose.
There was a story last week about a guy who went down to Mexico and then downloaded Wall-E, about a gigabyte file, for his grandson.
His phone company billed him $68,000.
When there was the outcry, the phone company said they could cut the bill to $17,000 because that was what the Mexican phone company, whose network he roamed on, charged the US phone company.

Crack App of the day:
Touch Ski 3D
$.99
My best on the ski jump is 440 feet. Darn thing couldn't upload to the public server though.
The slalom is good fun as well.
WOOHOO...Number 3 in the world with a 466.53 jump.
New update tonight that adds mega content including the "V" for distance in ski jumping.
