I got my third elite controller on sunday. The right bumper became dislodged on the first two. I know Im a bit rough on em but this has not happened with the regular controller which I use much more often.

Props the Jimmy for the advice on the extended warranty. Best Buy replaces no questions asked.

I have two elite controllers. One of them has a "drift" on the right stick. I do t know if it's fixable but it's annoying for a $150 controller.

I also had the rubber material bubble and warp off of the controller. Seemed to be common from what I saw online, but I Frankensteined a fix by stealing the side pods from a standard controller and grinding down the slots to fit properly into it.

Of course, I did that AFTER I bought a new Elite, so that way I have a backup or one to let a friend use when necessary. But that warping rubber grip stuff is also pretty crappy to have on an expensive peripheral.

The new Xbox update has a few solid features. Custom profile pics. Also, families with multiple users can now attach a profile to specific controllers. You guys with kids on XBL should like that one.

I know this is old news but I just got done watching the Spiderman gameplay trailer in 4K HDR and it was absolutely stunning. This HDR stuff is absolutely mind blowing to watch in action. It truly is more noticeable than 4K resolution. The Xbox One X and some games on the PS4 Pro are going to be simply stunning. As an old-school gamer it's truly amazing to see how far games have come since when I started playing when I was a kid. The guys over 40 know what I'm talking about. As you were.

I got it a week ago, check your setting to see if an update is available or auto update has somehow gotten turned off.

I learned fairly late yesterday afternoon that Diabo III had been free for this past weekend. I was still able to play a couple hours last night and what a game! I've never played a Diablo game before and despite my inexperience, I really enjoyed myself. I can't wait to delve in to this game more.

Never playing a Diablo game is almost criminal

It's still the best co-op game ever created, for my money. It seems so simple, and yet the further you go, the deeper it gets--you end up changing your entire play style just to use a shiny new Legendary that grants specific buffs to certain powers.

Most of it has been overhauled since launch, because at launch it was fun, but not like it is now. The loot is better, the effects of loot is A LOT better, and adventure mode once you finish the story is a perfect end-game activity. Once you get 3 or 4 people in a single session and there are several dozen monsters on screen at once, everybody launching explosions and whatnot, it's absolute chaotic bliss.

I know the Elite controller was announced at E3 but I just saw this video about it. It was new to me. Lots of info.

Looks cool but 1) Its expensive and 2) you wont be able to whip it against the wall without smashing the wall.

Not sure how many people here ended up grabbing an Elite Controller along the way. I got one when they first came out and it ended up getting some series drift with the right analog stick. I tried selling it with the issue, but really didn't get any takers except for a few that offered up a few pennies for the thing. I had shelved it thinking I'd come back to it one day and try to fix it myself, but never really did. The point of all this is to say that I read online that MS extended the warranty of the Elite Controllers and were doing a 1 time replacement for broken controllers. Sure enough I contacted the online support, chatted for a few minutes with a rep, sent mine in stripped down of all the parts, and much to my surprise received a brand new sealed in box Elite controller. So, if anyone has a busted Elite controller and not sure what to do with it there you go.
