Yeah, we're having the same problem. We have to try three or four times to connect with the browser or anything else that connects to the internet. I'm hoping it's just a temporary glitch because of all the new systems going online today.

I had trouble this morning but everything seems fine now. I think you're probably right - a Christmas system crush.

This is a crap shoot but has anyone heard any rumblings about when the next Wii shipments are to be expected? Are they getting any units out before the end of the year?

I didn't see any 360's in my area until January 1st of this year so I would expect to see Wii's on the shelves possibly this weekend if not then definitely within the next couple of weeks.

Nintendo did an excellent job of getting them on shelves at the last minute, at least in our area.

Today was my first day back to work since the Blizzard hit (+ Christmas Holiday). 3 people that I knew were looking for them came up to me and let me know they "lucked out" on the the Friday or Saturday prior to Christmas.

Seems like that while they're still not readily available they are becoming easier to get around here.

That's some encouraging news. I stopped by Best Buy and Toys r us on the way home form work today. Best Buy had some nunchucks and classic controllers so they must have gotten a shipment in today. I sales person looked the wii up and said they ahve 27 on order but he was doubtful that they would get them in before years end. I wouldn't be suprised if they show up saturday or sunday. A guy at toys are us said they got 10 in this morning and promptly sold out. At least it's good to know that the shipments are still coming and there is no lull right after xmas.

I finally got one today at Target! I used that itrackr website and it wasn't exactly accurate but it led me on my way. I had them tracking the Target 5 minutes from my work and I got an e-mail saying they had them in stock. I rushed over there to find out they didn't but another location about 10 minutes away did. They called over for me and they still had 7 left so I raced over there and actually got one.

That's great. I wish someone would have the component cables in stock. I gave up and ordered them from Nintendo.com today along with some other accessories. There is NOTHING for the Wii in this area except for remote skins, memory cards, and Wii points.

Congrats Scoop. Let us know if you think it was worth the wait and frustration. Seriously. Not that you were super stressed over it but I know you getting there.

What games did you get?

Lucked in boxing day with $24.99 component cables (madcatz ones). Best buy and futureshop have tons of those $50 ASID component cables but that was too expensive.

Got lucky at Walmart yesterday too. Got a wiimote and classic controller.

I actually found another remote at Best Buy tonight. It felt like I won the lottery...LOL. My Nintendo.com order is ready for shipping so I shouldn't have to wait too long for the cables and shipping is only $5.

Just an FYI to all Wii owners and expected Wii owners (and my apologies if you all knew this). I just saw on the EB web site that WiiPlay, which is another WiiSports type of game but with Ping Pong, Laser Hockey, Pool, and 6 other games, will be released in Feb. WITH a Wii Remote included for 49.99.

Being that i am looking for a couple more, i was psyched to see that i could grab a 4th AND a game i was going to pick up anyway for $50.

Thanks Spooky. I rarely think anything is worth the wait and frustration but I did have a lot of fun with my Wii last night and I even checked out my new system too. Thank you, I'm here all week.

I picked up Zelda (on sale at Target for $39 for those who are interested) and downloaded Super Mario Brothers and Ice Hockey. I didn't get a chance to play much Zelda but I did check out Wii Sports and it was good fun. My daughter loved bowling and just seeing how much fun she was having told me I made a good choice with getting a Wii. The system is very sleek and fits nicely into my entertainment center.

Zelda seemed like it was going to be great and of the Wii Sports titles I'd have to say that bowling and golf were my favorites. I created a Mii of everyone in my family and then added Walter Payton. :D Making Mii's seems like it can get seriously addictive. I'm definitely going to make tons of celebrities and family members. My daughter wants to make her cousin Austin already.

After one night I'd definitely say the Wii60 is a perfect combination and the two systems compliment each other quite nicely. If the Wii was the only thing I was gaming on I don't think I'd be satisfied but as a compliment it's fun as hell.

I said the same thing Scoop, and while i still agree alone it wouldn't last as the ONLY machince, i have to say, at this point (a month or so into ownership) when i have time to game and i stare down the two systems, at this point the damn Wii is winning out. I don't even remember the last time i turned on my 360. I know this will pass (then again maybe not), but with the kids, wife, grandparents and friends around, the Wii is healthy crack for the whole family!

The Wii takes the thing NHL07 did for me, put the F-U-N back in gaming, to it's highest level. Well worth my $250 for sure.

I spent a couple hours playing Zelda last night and a few things immediately stood out -

1) I suck at adventure games

2) The graphics are much better than I expected. Art style and direction are going to be much more important on the Wii vs. the other two machines

3) The game does a great job of immersing you in Hyrule and conveying a sense of importance to the quest

For some reason, there haven't been many games that have gripped me and given me that "I've been playing this for two hours already?" feeling like Zelda did last night. Whether or not I can get past the frustrations that can come with slogging through adventure games is still to be seen, but the first impressions are great.

The pacing in Zelda is spot-on. They change things up (new tasks, new form of Link, new ability) at what seems to me exactly the right time. It keeps getting better and these little changes to the gameplay are made right when you're getting a slight bit tired of the current mode... and then suddenly you'll want to continue. It's very polished too.

I play with my son Liam. I man the nunchuk and he mans the wiimote. In tougher areas he hands me the wiimote but we're having tons of fun with it. He loves tennis in Wii Sports too.

I can't wait for my component cables to arrive because I am very disappointed in the graphics. Everything is real fuzzy on my TV.

I haven't played GoW yet, so remember that the graphical bar isn't quite as high for me :)

James, it is interesting that you mention game pace--that seems to be a consistent strength of Nintendo games, at least in my limited exposure.

Playing the original Super Mario Bros. a couple nights ago made me realize how well paced it is. Compared to Bonk's adventure, which feels like you're plodding along, Mario seems to move at just the right speed whether you're walking or running. And it is nice to finally play Super Mario on the big screen since my parents never let me do that as a kid!

Woo hoo! I got one.

Amazon had a 4 hr window today during which they said they'd be selling a limited # of Wii's.

My wife I did some refreshing on and off for the first hour and a half, and she lucked into getting the '1-click' button activated and nabbed one. One refresh later and they were all gone -- I had her send me a screen grab of the order confirmation just to prove that she pulled it off. Yup! Be looking forward to that on the 2nd of January. Free amazon prime shipping on it too. Suh-weet :)

Wow, I feel like I won the lottery!
