I've noticed that dynasty mode seems much more difficult than 'play now' mode, but I haven't noticed any change in dynasty mode itself since the update.

EA should just steal the CPU offensive AI from the PSP version for next year's 360 version...it's that good IMO.

Can someone give me answer for this? How and when are exp points used? This is my first time playing a dynasty and I'm on the 360. Thanks in advance.

Well over this last week I finished my second season as the number 1 seed in the Eastern conference and in my first playoff game against the Islanders in the first period Crosby gets hit and is out with a broken foot and doesn't come back until game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals but I was able to take care of the Islanders in 5 games. Beat Boston in 7 games in the next round and Buffalo in 7 in the Conference Finals, both of these series were tough especially Buffalo, I had a 2-1 lead with less than a minute to go in game 4 and I could have gone up 3 games to 1 with a victory but the Sabres scored 2 quick goals to even the series out at that point. I ended up playing Phoenix in the finals and that series was even after 4 games before I won game 5 and then game 6 in overtime to win the cup.

I played every game during the season with 5 minute periods on All Star level. Only thing i ended screwing up was after scoring the overtime goal in game 6 of the finals I got too excited and ended up hitting the pause button on the controller and then there was no option to resume the play after that point and I didn't get to see the Stanley Cup presentation or any celebration at all. :(

I'm at the all star break, 2 points out of the 8th playoff spot and Tkachuk is serving a 3 game suspension for slashing on of the Devils players a few games ago. :)

I can't believe I still love this game - I've been busy with work, but finally had some time yesterday to burn 4 games in a row.

Congrats on winning the CUP!!!

I rented NHL 2k7 this week and I really missed having the right thumbstick controls for shooting; the whole shooting mechanic felt really sluggish and definitely not as fun as in NHL 07. But the gameplay/animations were incredibly smooth compared to EA's offering.

Next year should be interesting.

NHL 07 360.

This game is awesome. ea deserves praise for the immersion factor.

I won the conference finals and during the trophy ceremony Naslund went out and they showed him refusing to touch the trophy. pretty cool.

the game is great though...the 08 version will be even better.

I agree i am still having fun with this one, i have been tweaking some here and there to try and perfect my game. I wish it had a few more sliders like 2k7 but EA has always lacked in the dept.

just wondering if anyone would be interested in starting up an NHL 2K7 league thru DSP. It appears like a lot of people are playing NHL07 instead but I just picked up NHL 2K7 and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I'm not a huge hockey fan or anything but I enjoy playing the games and trying to figure out what this sport is all about. Has anyone had any experience with NHL 2K7 and league play? Is is fun? Is it worth it?

Thanks.

I still prefer 2K7 over EA although a lot of DSP'ers took sides with NHL 07 this year, due to the RS innovation, in fact there was an early tourney. Don't know if there are enough guys here who still own 2K7 to start anything, but in terms of realism and simulation nothing beats 2K7 IMO.

I've only messed around with the shot stick in the NHL07 demo and it was a lot of fun (I probably played that demo 1 millions times) but I ended up getting NHL 2K7 because it felt a little more "realistic" to me although I know very little about the sport. I gotta run right now but I'm looking to put something together with 2K7 and we'll see how many people want to sign up.

Well ive gotten into Hockey again thanks to playoff fever and have been tinkeringwith NHL07. Downloaded the latest rosters which many believe (me included )that attributes have been messed with by EA resulting in even better play .

Im having a blast with this game it truley is a gem, any hockey fan who hasnt checked this out yet realy should.

The game is never repetetive, goals are always different like winning eleven and great fun , scoring in this game is without doubt the most rewarding experience this year in any game for me.

Yes it has AI quirks but hey hows this for a scenario:-

It was late in the 3rd period and the wild started running up the score on my Kings 3 quick goals to make it 6-2 and i was mad so went to the y button looking for a scrap and i ended up slashing Demitra and injuring him i felt realy bad and thoght to my self as i watched the cut scene of Demitra being helped to the first aid room "o oh i wonder if im gonna have to pay for that" If it was real there surely would be retribution next shift.

The puck drops and boom Kostopolous and Koivu go at it absolutely first class gaming experience .

Now Demitra is out for quite a while i feel realy bad lol.
Cant wait for the next game against the Wild see if any thing is in it how cool would that be if the bad blood carried over.

Ok my latest take on a realy great game lots of room for improvement but is still a joy to play.
Cant wait to see what they do for it next season.

Anyone who has shelved this game already break it out get the latest roster and have fun you will love it again.

Ill even take you on on live for real accurate shot totals , pull your finger out 2k you stale piece of shite.

OH!!! edit , i forgot to mention 360 version.

I have gotten the hockey bug again too.

Problem is with both games, they average 40-60 shots per game. In terms of realism that bugs me. I have tweaked both games but none seem to get that part of the game right.

Dont forget EA counts all shots taken by cpu even if its not a shot on goal, i find if you want a better idea go to the stats and goalie saves and its pretty much dead on maybe on the higher side but by know means unrealistic.

is it you? are you a chucker?

i find the shot totals high if i just walk over the blue line and look to take a blast...hand onto the puck...work out of the corners...

I started a season a few weeks ago with the updated Pens rosters and I'm loving it. I think I'm like 10-6-2 and enjoyed every minute. The goal variety is amazing. Plus, each game is different. I had a string of games where I was really holding down the opposition and then I lost a game to Ottawa 9-8 in a shootout!

Yep awsome goal variety, game variety.
I started off like 6 and 1 and am now 7-6-2 getting pummeled and a winless Dallas just got their first win against me .
I wish i hadnt taken such a long break from hockey now but when your kid plays and all the time that takes it just wore thin . Now its baseball season im back but its gonna be over all too quick now.

I didn't know this. I average lower than normal shots on goal.

One other thing does anyone find it too easy in NHL 07 (EA) that it's too easy to skate to the crease and the defenders lay back too often. I play on all-pro.

One other question...how do you win face-offs?

I was talking AI specifically.

Probly JRod that is one of the weaknesses with the d control and ai but some say the newer rosters make the d hold the position better and certainly on superstar and shot blocking on max i dont find it easy i can barely get a shot off with out the d getting a piece of it.

I play on All-Pro too. My biggest issues on offense are that it's too easy to get into the zone without a dump-in and that there are too many tricklers. The right stick controls make up for it though and make offense a joy. On defense, the control is kind of loose and the impatience of the CPU AI gets on my nerves, but I love having *fear* of a CPU attack again in a hockey game.

My biggest fear is that EA will f*ck up this series. Give me better AI, more camera options, a better framerate, and right stick *defense* and I'll be happy. I'm really afraid that they will add some dumb-ass overdone momentum feature to ruin the huge strides they took this year.

I am still switching around both games and although EA's product ultimately ends up being more on the fun side, I find the framerate ruining the game for me overall. Go back to 2K and the goals are not the same variety as EA's but it gives me more of a sim feeling. Still the CPU's SOG is atrocious.

I just cant play 2k single player anymore the the AI trying to set up the 1 timer constantly just killed it for me yeh they cycle more but its aimless cycle for the sake of it , no purpose and it ends with a 1 timer it just feels empty. And its just a drab game (yawn)
I want 2k to bounce back but i feel with Kush at the helm there is no chance.
