It feels like a chest match out there after two periods. You can tell that coach Hitch is trying to get the Backes-Steen line to match up with the hot Joe Pavelski line. B. Elliot sees to be much busier than M. Jones who should have stopped that knuckler. L Couture needs to get going.

Burns and Pietrangelo are such studs for their teams, and they are probably just going to be fit into the 5th and 6th spot for team Canada this coming Fall for the World Cup.

It's going to be a tough, heavy series. My God, how nice is it that the Blues seem to be the heavier, tougher team this time. It was a rough 2nd period, but that was a failure to set up in the offensive zone. Defensively, they held the Sharks at bay pretty well for how much time they were in the Blues zone.

Great game. I knew this would be tough.

The Bolts have been smelling blood for the last 5 minutes of the game. The triplets are so quick, so dangerous. Pens better wake up soon and not let this one get away.

I thought they were rather flat in game 1 and were fortunate to win where rookie M. Jones left a softy in. But boy did he ever come back strong tonight. I've been saying it, these Sharks DO bite.

We did have two posts.. but Jones was good. Although we didn't have many chances. Somebody needs to cover that lumberjack Burns.. you can't just let him sit alone on the wing.

Quit dressing Ott, you need a big hitter like Reaves against San Jose. I'd like to see Bortuzzo as well, Edmunson is over is head at this point in his career.

Honestly, I was just hoping the Blues could steal a game at home, which they did. They own SJ in th Shark Tank, where home is not that sweet.

But yeah, I think some lineup changes are in order.

To be fair both teams' home record are so so. And at this point, I don't think it really matters for these two teams. Careful what you ask for Mizz for the boys you mentioned to replace S. Ott. Yes, he was undisciplined but so was T. Brouwer. If you overcommit against this Sharks team, you're going to get burn with their man advantage. After all, SJ has the best PP among the remaining four teams and you know that B. Burns is a beast out there.

M. Jones was focused tonight. Blues need to execute better with their PP chances.

Our PP was horrid, but so was most of the game effort.

Ott just adds nothing at all, he's slow, undisciplined and honestly anyone.. even Jaskin or Paajarvi would be better than Ott. You have to hit SJ, I'm not saying cheap shots, but actual hitting.

Steal one at home? We have been outplayed in BOTH games so far. SJ is great at home, too.

San Jose was 18-20-3 at home this season. The Blues beat them in San Jose easier this year, and generally play well out there. The Blues are 7-1-1 in San Jose over the last 5 seasons, including 2 playoff wins.

Now, I'm mostly being facetious. It's not good to lose at home. But I'm also optimistic going forward.

Also, Blues were outplayed in the second period of the first game, but looked good and outplayed San Jose in the first and third periods. In the third, San Jose had 4 shots in the first 17 minutes of a game they were down. And they were a fraction of second away from a 2-1 lead in the 1st period, when a goal was waved off after a challenge because Tarasenko was offsides.

There was nothing good about last night's game. I can say the same about a coupe off the games against both Dallas and Chicago. If nothing, the blues have shown they can regroup and play better.

I expect a lineup change or two and I know we have shown to play well on the road. I still think it goes 7 games, but I really don't like they way we have played in these first two games.

Jumping on the bandwagon eh? If they get the puck deep and play their North-South game with speed, they can beat the Bolts in this series. But we've seen how resilient TPA has been so far.

Thanks for the vote of confidence for the Bolts... Somehow they have to reduce that shot differential, they're spending too much time on the wrong end... Gotta win Friday and make it a 3 game series... Getting Stamkos back would be a boost, but probably not enough the way they played Games 2 & 3.

Not kidding there , they spent the whole 2nd period in the Lightning zone. You would have thought they were on a 20 minute power play. :?

Coach Hitch juggled his lines to no avail. Blues just showed up for the first ten minutes of the game and were just watching the Thornton line be dominant. Another solid performance from my boy M. Jones who's been focused since the softy left in from Lehtera. Blues need to recoup, this could easily have been a 0-3 deficit.

This series isn't even competitive at this point. The Sharks are neutralizing everything the Blues are trying to do. Hats off to San Jose who clearly looks like the better team.

Whew Lightning, made it harder than they needed it to be at the end, but great turnaround...
