Since I dont have it , I hope they stop wasting any time they "may" be putting into this turd and put those efforts into releasing an actual game next year.
You don't have to use the new tuners if you are playing solo games. Well, I do think you have to if you are playing HUT, and they are required for online play.
But EA has always reacted to the squeakiest wheels on any given day. Plenty of folks thought what we considered great gameplay as terrible. It's been this way for years. One group complains about it being to easy to dangle and score. When they fix that, another group complains that the poke check and goalies are overpowered. It goes on and on because there is no actual middle ground.
No one ever wants to adapt their play to how the game plays. They want EA to "fix" the game to adapt to themselves.
As the NHL season kicks off, I'm still going to enjoy playing this game for what it is. The truth is, there is nothing sim about what anyone wants out of this game. What they want is their play style to be rewarded.

The problem is.. the tuner actually has some decent stuff in it.. so it's an ALL or NOTHING decision.
The patches have to be loaded though.. and I wish they would just enhance the hardcore mode and keep it "hardcore".
There is some kind of catch up in this years game and it's cheap. I actually saw a goal where the puck was going wide of the net and mysteriously made a 90 angle and went into the goal. I wish I would have recorded that.

There is definitely catch up in the game which drives me crazy. However, the overall game play, specifically how the players and puck react in the game are night and day different than what was in NHL14.
Does anyone know if the player and puck physics that are in the next gen console versions also in the Xbox 360 version of NHL15?
If so, I would be willing to purchase NHL15 for Xbox 360 if enough of the Ice Dragons do likewise so we can play some EASHL again.

Dont want that be yet another excuse for failure.
Agreed, they better be working their asses off to make next years game a full featured game.

I only played that one night of early release on the 360 and could tell it played better than 14 did. The 360 version has a different collision system than what was in 14, it's definitely better, the puck physics from next gen are not in the 360 version although the basketball bounce on dump-ins is gone. From what I read on the EA forums the game gets mostly a positive feedback unlike the next gen versions. If I get a hockey game this year it will be the 360 version over the Xbone but I won't give the EA scum more than 30 or 40 bucks for it, 20 bucks max for the next gen version. Miss playing EASHL and our Dragon nights.

I said it once I'll say it again. EA *needed*... absolutely *had to* do a cross-buy for this.
Next-gen is a bare-bones turd with *potential* by many accounts. Last gen is a glorified roster update, with extremely modest improvements (at least they made it slightly better and not terribly worse).
Make a cross-buy for both at 60 bucks and I think most would live with it. Want your modes in a transition year? Play the marginally better 360 version. Want to play your offline season with high-end gfx and the like, play the next gen version.
Instead, we've got two products that feel overpriced and I've little desire to buy either based upon what I'm hearing.
I agree with you 7. Remember when Sony was packaging the Show for the PS and Vita together? Get the half assed effort current gen and the last one for a manageable deal. Miss the Dragons nights as well and can't wait to be on the ice bitching with all of you.
Now, I have been playing nothing but online HUT games, there just seem to be more friction in the gameplay department while the servers were on/ off the whole weekend. That's why they were offering happy hour coins. At times I just couldn't buy a player or sell anything.
Well all the little annoying stuff in NHL 14 (like the basket ball bouncing puck) has been fixed in NHL 15 last gen. In fact, it plays a much better game all around than its next gen counterpart, imo.
Plus BeaGm is feature rich and of course you have all the other modes. Going to play vs with the next gen version and BeaGM and EASHL with last gen.
Last time I played NHL, I don't recall the passing and check buttons being set to the shoulder buttons.
Only tried a couple of games (probably going to trade in for BB $40 credit) but definitely harder to control the players than I remember. They seem to stall a lot and then when you win possession, you don't have the forwards rushing up towards the opponent's goal like it used to. I do see you can change the strategy but didn't notice a big difference when I put the offense to the most aggressive setting.

That is weird. At least for the XB1, the default has passing linked tone RT, while the LT is used to focus in conjunction to using the LS to hit, which is what it was for the 360. I don't think there are custom layouts, but on the 360, there were options. I have not looked to see if that is one more thing left out of the next gen version.

The default passing has been linked to the shoulder buttons R2/RT for awhile. The checking is done usually by moving your RS wheel. But there should be an option to customize your controls, there should be even the classic 94 controls available if you don't care about the newer schemes.
It's soooo early in the season but you can tell that some teams have given up already or at least shown that they have no interest whatsoever other than getting Connor McDavid at the end of the season. Hello BUF, CAR, EDM. Pretty sure E. Staal will be moved this year.
Call me a sucker but I guess I'm going to pull the trigger on a digital download. Need a hockey game.....I hope I can at least get a decent game with sliders.

I no longer have my 360 so PS4 version is my only option.
