Shouldn't have to suffer too much longer, papers over here are indicating that the search has commenced for Roy of the Not Very Good Rovers successor.

Best wishes,

Doug

Very un-Hodgson performance by Liverpool today with passing from the back rather than hoofing it up the field. We also seemed to have a midfield which is nice for a change.

Helped that Bolton could only field 4 of 7 subs and didn't have Stuart Holden (who's been one of their best players). Still good win but changes little in my eyes, will be reminded of this if/when United stuff us next weekend.

Go away Roy, please.

Sheffield Wednesday still hasn't played since December 18. We are going to be fresh bitches as we climb the ladder.

Last 10 minutes of Chelsea vs. Villa today were amazing.

I stepped away for about 20 minutes in the second half and when I came back I realized I missed a deluge of goals. Tremendous match.

Leighton Baines turned down a move to Bayern Munich. I can understand - if he left he would have been playing for one of the biggest teams in Europe, playing in the Champions League and by playing in a different country it could have made him a better, more well rounded and experienced player....

What an idiot.

Can't blame him. Eventually Moyes is going to drop the One Ring, and when he does Bainesy will be right there to pounce on it. Filthy hobbitses! :)

Luis Gustavo was just signed to play left back. Isn't that what Baines is? Of course Gustavo is Brazilian, so he could probably play defensive midfielder in addition.

I doubt we'll see Hodgson Saturday for the Merseyside Derby. Even if he makes it to Saturday, he would have to win. A loss there would certainly spell the end. But it's not all his fault, you can just tell Liverpool doesn't have the players.

Tottenham has zero consistency. Zero.

And how long before Ancelotti gets the axe. Losing 1-nil can't make the Russian happy.

Chelsea, Liverpool lose. City and Arsenal draw.

It's a good day.

EDIT:

Question of the day; which Premier League team had the most players at the World Cup in South Africa? A clue - it's not Blackburn.

You can't deny it. But that facts raises some very interesting questions about why they suck.

What on Earth would prompt Keegan, Barnes et al. to throw their support to Hodgson? Is it just the fear of another big, bad foreign coach?

I'm stumped.

Blatter says Qatar World Cup likely in January, though I'm sure it has absolutely nothing to do with Qatar in June being inappropriate for the World Cup.

He also threw in that FIFA is more transparent than the IOC, who spends "money like a housewife."

Oooo-kay Sepp.

I've read that the money Qatar will save on the AC stadiums could be enough to please the Euro leagues as compensation

I'm so disappointed by that. Keegan I can get because he's crazy but Barnes....man, that guy's my f***in hero.

Anyway, a thought to ponder this Sunday when United are beating us senseless - except for Hyypia, Riera and Mascherano, Woy could put out the exact same team that beat United 4-1 - and that was a United team with Ronaldo and Tevez.

Michael Owen is gonna score the game winner. :)

Indeed, to say nothing of John's unbroken record of success as a manager at the highest level and his transformation of Tranmere from relegation candidates to play-off contenders.

Actually, let me check my notes on that one and come back to you.

Hodgson out replaced by dalglish - not sure that's much of an upgrade...

Best wishes,

Doug

LFC' supporters will welcome this change albeit a cosmetic one. We'll see how long this honeymoon period will last and more importantly will he be able to stop the exit of some players at the end of the season?

Some fans thought that Roy's tactics were ancient history yet Dalglish hasn't managed for a decade.
