My team over at TPG.com played some online games last night and we had a ball. The "cheesers'" are gone and there are definitely more penalties...which is a good thing. I was very aware of anything I was doing. You cannot be overly aggressive or the arm goes up. I probably played my best three games in a long while last night. My teammates were shocked

I love the patch.

Post patch, this game has been like crack. Wow.. goal variety alone is worth the price...

This one game that calms me when I start thinking about MLB The Show and a new ps3.

Wow, I now suck after the patch!

First game in, beat Buffalo 3-1. I put my shot power at 3 for this game, to play with mostly defaults, and shots felt a bit sluggish.

Next game, bumped it back to 4, only to have 3! players hurt on ankle shots from slappers.

the last few I've put it back to 3 and some shots seem to have zip, but others seem slow.

Some games I struggle to score, others not so much, but I am definately struggling keeping the puck out. The AI def makes smarter plays, which is fun challenge. But my own AI teammates look horribly out of position sometimes, but maybe they are finally playing to their ratings.

I've seen some really nice plays, which is nice, and an intefernce penalty!

Guess I need to tweak how I play to get out of my 6 game losing streak.

Uhm, is anyone having troubles scoring after the last patch? I am.

The AI scores on nice wristers, and plays no problem, but most of my shots seem to get gobbled by the goalie, or hit him in the chest......

At first I didn't, but my last two games the CPU has shut me out!

for fun, i started a new dynasty, with more tweaks to the sliders then I had before, based on QBs set on OS. I lowered game speed one click from defualt, pass speed down to one I think, fatigue sliders adjusted, and a few others, and I've scored 3 goals in each game.

It seems if your player is set, the shot comes off a lot more powerful then if you're on the move, which is kinda realistic, but I think Ovie can still rip one tope shelf at full speed....

IN any event, I may wait for the deadline rosters to come out and start again, just for the heck of it.

I think I'm one of the very few who love the default speed. I'm not sure how all those guys play on a setting of 0.

Before the new patch came out I was using default speed. I just found witht eh AI's new "brain" i was getting smoked. I think i'm only one click down from default, which is not that bad.

I do agree, I wonder how some can play with a speed of zero and Acceleration at only 1 or 2!

It's funny, because on Pro I feel like I'm taking advantage of the CPU, but on AS, the CPU takes advantage of me!

I ran into that with 08. Even with FIFA for a while. It's like I'm half a difficulty level off the EA system.

I'm finding more and more that if I have my player standing still, I seem to be able to rip shots more accurately and with zip. I'm not sure if that's entirely realistic, but I guess this patch was leaned more heavily to OTP then offline.

OTP is great, long gone are the cheesers and it's much quicker to finish the games after the patch.

sigh, to restart my franchise, which is now 3 or 4 games into my "test", or play with a "quasi reality" knowing most deadline deals are temporary anyway........

Meh, quasi reality is a more fun. I'm a GQ man in quasi reality.

I always wonder though if they sneak in ratings adjustments across the board to make the game play better???

Maybe i'll start a "Test 2" franchise and see if there's any differnece.

Sorry, I mean Test 2 'chise..... (i see that on OS all the time and it annoys me for some reason! )

OTP has absolutely been addictive since the patch. Our squad from over at TPG.net has jumped into division 4 since the patch. We won two big games over division 1 squads the other night. Both games were tied and won in the last minute. Goal variety and no cheesers is a huge plus.

Hi Guys,

I'm curious if you guys have any tips on franchise settings. I know the sliders are a bit limited and appear to apply to both AI and User (Unless i'm mistaken)

I'm having trouble creating quality scoring chances and at times it appears as if my AI mates are very slow to join the attack.

Any tips on defense would be appreciated as well. I've tried the various strategies and have not noticed in much of a difference.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
