I just wish the rest of the game was a satisfying as 2K7, because it's not.
I'm not going to go down this road again but i disagree 1000% with that statement. This game is MORE satisfying overall than 2K7 for all the reasons posted in the last 23 pages.

Now, what you prefer to play and in your mind which one plays a better game of hockey for you, sure, i can at least accept that. But to say 2K7 is "more satisfying", not for me.

Ain't it great that we can all have our own opinion?

I put my copy of NHL 07 up on Ebay this past week. I think the breaking point for me was seeing 5 goals scored by the opposition in which the puck bounced up off of the goalie's shoulder, and rolled down his back into the net...in my last two online games.

Since most of my gaming is done online in league play, NHL 2K7 was an easy choice for me. I've even found a set of HOF sliders that are making the game enjoyable offline. Sure, there's more one-timers than I'd like to see, but I can deal with that over the glaring AI positioning issues in NHL 07.

EA's game is close, and this year's offering was a huge step in the right direction. Tighten up the AI, and next year's game could be special.

Well i 100,000,000% know that i 've seen less flip-flopping from a fish out of water than i have with you on these two games. At least you were 100,000,000% right about the Q.

And absolutely boom, it's great that we all have our own opinion.

What sliders are you trying Sully? And how are the SOG count?

I'm using the sliders from my online league. They play well. Our league plays 10 minute periods, but I reduced it to 8 mins for offline play. I'll grab them and post them in a bit.

I'm loving 2k7. Just feels right, great camera, awesome frame rate, smooth online, etc... It's actually the first sports game in years where I'm playing more than 1 season.

Roberto Luongo (sp?) just shut me out - wow was he good tonight.

I do wish you could call up and switch players from the minors and the NHL and have the CPU AI adjust the empty slots instead of it calling up players on its own. I like doing my own lines, but sometimes the chemistry just isn't right and it takes a bit to figure out which lines are best chemistry wise.

I am the king of the goalie back bounce goals online ;) I STILL have yet to score a non-slop goal with 07 online. That, the awful frame rate online and off and the lack of little touches like alternate unis has brought me back to NHL 2k7, and I'm really surprised how much I am liking it.

2k online is just sweet - not so much as a hiccup and the default camera is great. Just finished a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the qualifying for the Dodge tournament where I was down 2-0 in the second period only to come back and win 4-3. It's been a very tough choice, which is great, but I'll be happy with this for the rest of the season.

Anyone who still has 2k7 interested in a quick tournament for the Dodge qualifying?

I'm definitely up for some 2k online action...I haven't played it in weeks, but after picking up and not really getting into NHL 07, I'm ready to get back into 2k. The camera angle and the 60 fps smoothness are going to make it my hockey game of choice this year.

Yeah, 2K7 is my game for Hockey. I still play EA's 07 but I keep going back to the classic control feature because I just can't get used to passing with the RT button. Having said that, you still can shoot with the skill stick as well as X or B while faceoffs are still only to be won/lose with the skill button. When you play vs the CPU it's almost impossible to win a faceoff.

The framerate in 2K7 just rocks.

Yeah, the only problem I forgot earlier is that I still LOVE the PSP version of NHL 07, and as the controls are opposite those of NHL 2k switching back and forth is a real pain.

I'm still having a lot of fun with NHL 07. I've got about a month left of games in my first season and have battled my way to a 5th place spot in the eastern conference. Got back into the playoff hunt with a 7 game winning streak that was finally snapped by Tampa Bay, my previous best was a couple of 4 game winning streaks.

Well i finished up my first season as the second seed in the eastern conference with the Pens and was up 2 games to none against New Jersey in the first round of the playoffs and ended up losing the next 4 games.

Worst part was that the only trade I made during the season was Mark Recchi for Jamie Langenbrunner and Recchi ends up scoring goals in games 5 and 6 to help put me away.

Have you tried NHL07 on the PS2? It also has the skill stick, but it is a much better experience. The right stick is used for passing only, and the right trigger buttons are for shooting and the left trigger is for turbo. I know, I know, it has turbo but it plays a damn fine game of Hockey. I've spent some time with this offering and really like this skill stick setup and wish I could map this button configuration on the 360.

Perhaps for you, but for me using the R-stick for stick handling and shooting is as fresh and new and fun an experience as I've had with a sports game in a long, long time. I don't have a Wii yet, though, so that my trump it, but shooting and deking is so damn fun in this game, I have a smile on my face on many occasions, and more importantly, I feel fully in control of the shooting. Where it goes, how much zip is on it and so on is all up to me, not to mention the fakes. This new control element combined with the absence of a turbo is enough by far for me to overlook the many boogers this game has, but of course I don't play v. CPU too much. I did really like using the R-stick for passing back with Rivals (not to mention multi-Xbox multiplayer. . . . ), but shooting in this game and deking gives me as much a feeling of control over those elements as I have in WE, which is to say more than anything else by a long shot.

EDIT: Wow, I can't read, huh? Somehow I thought trane was talking about 2K. . . ugh. Sorry trane!

Bumping this so F308 and others can try to seek out some good slider info etc. Good luck!

I've gotten into using the 'action' camera as of late... it makes it a little harder to play defense, but the ability to see further down the ice has helped with my passing and for some reason it's a LOT easier for me to see where the goalie's exposed with this view. Looks good, too.

It's weird to be playing a hockey game this far into the season. With NHL and NCAA football games, I generally give them a couple weeks then go back to the sports I actually follow in real life. This year, those are the two games I've played the most of.

yes exactly, i am also getting into the action cam, i never tired it before because i thought it would make things even closer zoomed in. It helps with the pass view a lot i think.

"Seventeen seconds after Ovechkin's goal, Brashear made it 4-0. The former Flyer controlled the puck off a faceoff deep in the Philadelphia zone and fired on net. It hit Esche's blocker glove, bounced up in the air, landed on the goalie's back and somehow crossed the goal line."

So it does happen in real life!

Just not as often. . . . :(

NHL 07, not only does the game rock, but I picked it up also for the PSP. It also has the same soundtrack, and it freakin' rox. I'm more of a hip-hop guy but I can't get enough of the songs, especially Bring it on home and Montreals callin'. :D

I started a new dynasty with the official roster update from October, and suddenly the game's twice as hard. Has anyone else had this experience?
