Both them and Watford are going to go for real big boot, high tempo thugball, which unfortunately can work in the short term.

Called 'pigs' because they play in red and white striped shirts, which thus resemble streaky bacon.

Or, when the replica shirt is stretched over the beergut of a typical product of the People's Republic of South Yorkshire, when the wearer actually looks like a pig.

That was a horsesh*t call...what are you watching 10s. Soccer is f*cking stupid. First, it wasn't a penalty...second, why the hell doesn't the guy who gets fouled take the kick. That is ridiculous.

I know it's not hockey...I just think the fouled player SHOULD be the one who's shooting. At least let the guy who got away with a ridiculous flop, shoot the shot. It is stupid that you just go ahead and let your best player take the shot.

Push?....DIVE!!!! all the way...

Italy scores though...so at least cheating and bad reffing wont decide it...for now anyway.

henry dives again...edit...now Zidane...Ribery...Zidane again...wow...they learned from Portugal....enough already...

Well, the PK may be stupid because of a questionable call (I like to see the replay again) but until Fifa makes some changes, the best player in the team usually is the assigned player to take the PK's and we are not talking about just scoring here but winning a WC. But that is one change I would apply to the game.

I was f***in irate after that bullshit penalty that was awarded but Italy tied it and looked like the better team in the first half. If Bartez continues to stay on the line for corners Italy better start drawing as many as possible because they'll score another that way. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gilardino come in the game at around the 60th minute and Totti will start getting more involved when he does. It looks like the gameplan is for Toni to cover Totti's space like they're saving Totti for the latter stages of the match.

The Italians are dominating the midfield.

Unless France gets more space Italu should score 1 or 2 in the 2nd half.

As for the penalty....good call....clumsy and late challenge by...who was it?

Damn I though this game was on at 12:50 EST...I barely made the Italian goal.

Even if the Italians win, we can all be thankful that we won't have to hear Dave O'Brien.

I would pay money to listen to the BBC commentary over O'Brien. I like John Harkes over Balboa but Balboa is decent.

Italy was the better team, in the 1st half. Eventually M. Lippi will have to say to his team we are doing just fine, we need just better luck and finish. And if he does bring in the 2nd half people like Del Piero & Gilardino, they could finish the French team (who incidentally looks tired to me) like they did to the Germans with some lethal strikes.

I would pay close attention to Henry though.

And upon seeing the replay, I still stand with my call: It was a penalty. The French forward got clipped albeit slightly, but there was contact. Now sure he did make it look worse than what it was.

Disagree 100%!!!...dive...terrrible call...should have been a yellow or red for diving.

At least the ref is consistent...he sux...he just missed a penalty on Italy evening it out...

OT....France stronger team over last 25 minutes...Should be fun...

Waiting to see replay of Italy's offside goal...was the guy who scored offside or the guy on near end?..or both?....Looked like a goal real time.

Great 2nd half by the french. Italians look tired but they seem to be better on the counters and off set plays.

wow..France turned it around in the 2nd half and dominated the midfield and the run of play.

Should have been another penalty also.

If Maloula would have cut inside the defender on Henry's great run they probaly would have scored on his low cross.

Italy is dangerous on the set pieces...they have put 1 in...had 1 cleared near the line, hit the post...and had a goal disallowed for offsides...all on corners and set pieces.

Could be the difference.

De Rossi has been almost invisible excpet for that crap call on a foul by Diarra.

Looked like the ref evened it up - France should have had a penalty in the second half. I couldn't tell on the replay whether the Italian clipped the French player on the 1st penalty.

Good game, lots of flow to it. France definitely stronger in the second half after Italy caused them problems in the 1st half.

Best wishes,

Doug

I think it'll go to PK's. What a tragedy that would be.
