I have to tip my hat to the Mavs, a team I'm not really that fond of. They won the type of series I never thought they would be capable of with their style of play. One where they had to get physical and gut it out. By comparison they made the normally efficent Spurs look a little old and slow and knocked off the defending champs in the process.

I would love to see a Pistons Mavs final. Basically top offense taking on top defense and see who comes out on top.

I think the style of play that you're thinking of has been toned way down by the new Mavs. Those are Nellie's Mavs. The Johnson Mavs work the clock a bit more and chose their spots when it comes to pushing the ball. The style you're thinking of now belongs to Phoenix and I hate it.

Is that because they beat the Mavs last year playing that style? Don't worry...the Suns probably can't beat the Mavs in a 7 gamer this year. Next year, you might have a dog fight assuming Amare and Kurt come back healthy.

No because watching the Suns this year, it just appears that Nash is doing what he did here. He pushes the ball up the floor and his teammates all run to the 3 point line. That's how Nellie's Mavs were. The Mavs had no big men to speak up so he really had no choice. Without Amare and Thomas, the Suns are they same team the Mavs used to be. I'm glad we don't have to deal with Amare this year. No one runs that pick and roll better than he and Nash.

We did it... we stopped them. I thought they were done when Gi-nose-bili hit that three... but the Mavs just kept on coming. Towards the end of the game, I didn't even care if we won or lost anymore... I just knew that after this game win, or lose, I wouldn't have to watch Duncan's bullshit parade to the free throw line anymore... actually winning the game was icing on the cake! I'm still in a numb, state of shock...

I read that Kurt may be back if they win this game 7 for the next series.

I like all the teams in the west, dallas, and the winner of either phx or lac. It's nice to see some fresh teams in the finals for once.

Ya Duncan looked like a old man in OT. He was out of gas.

He left it all out there, that's for sure. Him and Ginobili turned into Reggie Millers out there on the line as well. Spurs didn't get enough consistency from anyone outside their big three in this series. It truly did look like the Mavs just had a better team... certainly a better roster.

41 Points. 15 Rebounds. 6 Assists. 1 Steal. 3 Blocks will do that to you.

If ever a player deserved to be out of gas, it was Duncan after that game.

Maybe so but I think that wasn't the core problem. The Mavs ultimately were just too quick for them. They had to play a small line-up that wasn't as strong defensively as past years for the Spurs to match up with the Mavs. They weren't able to use that second shot blocker twin tower they always seem to have every year, nearly as effectively as in the past to shut down the middle.
I still think this series is one of those where if you played it 10 times, it could easily split down the middle 5 to 5. But I don't want to take credit away from the Mavs who I always viewed as soft and timid. They hit all the big shots when it counted. And Dirk finally stood up as the franchise player he needs to be (with a little help from the refs  )

The Clips look like they have tightened up here in the 2nd half...and the Suns are just RAINING threes. Man that rest did wonders for the legs of the Suns. Just hope the Suns don't blow another huge 4th quarter lead to the Clips.

The Clips need Jack Bauer at this point.

I don't think the suns have a snowball's chance against the Mavs but then who thought they would get this far without Amare. Somewhere in Georgia, Joe Johnson better be enjoying that extra dough he got in the off-season because he may never get a whiff of a finals as long as he is in Atlanta.

The Mavs are a better matchup than the Spurs would have been...at least in the past it has been. The Suns seem to be in Dirk's head...he always ends up whining like a little b*tch. That said, the Mavs have the firepower and defensive scheme that will probably take down the Suns without Amare. Obviously I hope I'm completely wrong. If they shoot like they did tonight, it's gonna be a difficult matchup for the Mavs as well.

BTW...why do all LA teams suck in Game 7's this year? That is flat out embarassing for both of them.

Or look at it this way. S. Nash is unbeaten in game 7's.

Bruce Bowen plays like a little b*tch. Couldn't stand watching that guy play D on Dirk. And the Spurs seemed to ratchet up the whining as the series went on. Glad to see them get knocked out. Should be a fun series in the West. The East series doesn't really interest me.

Yeah, the Spurs really were b*tching and whining constantly. It was very annoying to watch and a big reason why my rooting interest for Dallas increased substantially as the series progressed. The Spurs did seem really classy though after the game and from the post-game quotes I've read.

The crowd in San Antonio seemed incredibly loud in the second half. That would have been a great game to see in person.

I think Detroit/Miami will be OK, but the Western Conference Finals should be fantastic. I hope it goes 7 games.

It is gonna be virtually impossible for the Suns to beat the Mavs if they keep trying to go over or under screens and allowing whichever Mavs guard has the ball, to go uncontested right to the rack. The only time you can do that is if you've got some shot blockers...Phoenix doesn't. They just don't have the manpower to hang with the Mavs I don't think. The depth of the Mavs is showing right now...could be a quick series if the Suns don't adjust somehow. I still haven't figured out why the Suns haven't tried to use a zone defense...especially against a team like the Mavs without a legit big man.

But then again, now that Raja is probably done for the series...it really could be a short series. It also doesn't help that Marion reinjured the ankle as well.

Wow...Boris Diaw...stud.

3 min. left i would have said no way they come back. But they did, proving again that Nash is the man.

What a clucth play by Diaw.

Gotta give props to Thomas who made a very difficult out of bounds entry pass to Diaw on that play.

Speaking of clutch... how about Steve Nash?

The 3 pointers were obviously clutch but that circus shot against Nowitzki under the basket - I'll never forget that shot as long as I live. I still dont know how he made it.

Yeah, I'd like to see that shot again. I only saw it once live.

These playoffs have been amazing. If you can't enjoy these games then either you don't like basketball or you have some underlying bias that will never allow you to like the NBA. I think this is a great "Final 4"!

If the Suns finally get Kurt Thomas back and Raja Bell is OK then maybe they can win this series. Go Suns.

the same can be said for the Mavs. They have to quit switching on every pick and roll. Good win for the Suns.

After the game Charles Barkley had this to say, "I've only said this one other time - and that was about Larry Bird. Steve Nash, that's one bad white dude."

Kurt Thomas isn't going to be a factor in this series anyway...they don't need his inside presence against Dallas as they don't really have any inside guys that will do much damage like the Clippers did. The Suns would rather just run Dampier and Diop out of the game, like last night...

Next round, assuming they make it that far, hell yes they'll need him against Shaq or Detroit because they both have post up guys.

Raja on the other hand...I don't know if the Suns can advance without him. It will be way too difficult...but certainly possible I suppose. I have come to the conclusion that you can never count the Suns or the "one bad white dude" out.
