OK now i'm looking for a good quality headphone for my J3 and C2. I've gotten tired of the earbuds, they either get loose or fallout. Is there a noise cancelling headphones that cancel out all outside sound?
Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
DB I just found and ordered an iAudio10 (white) from these guys. I also ordered a C2 Clear Gel case last week.

Galaxy Players launch this week...hmmm...probably won't get one, but they look damn interesting. I simply must have physical buttons to control my music since I use it at the gym in my pocket. It's a MUST. That said, I'll probably have one soon.

I'm dying to find out if you like the SQ.

Don't get your hopes up. I'm perfectly happy with my J3 and I don't want to go DOWN in functionality as far as using it at the gym goes.
Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
I just received my iAudio 10 and this is my favorite Cowon by far. I like certain features of the C2 that aren't in the J3 and vice versa. The i10's UI is awesome actually the most intuitive. The screen is quite large, the color therapy allows for nice menu color customizations. The directional touchpad lights up when on, nice touch. It's also very responsive.
I like the scroll menu so it's not like your lost, you have a real good idea whats behind door #1. My biggest beef with the J3, especially the C2 was with the UI i.e. where are you and how you got there. The i10 takes that all away.
As for the way it feels it has a nice balance to it. The plastic back doesn't make it feel cheap and actually feels a tad heavier than the J3.

That's because you never went as far as to install new UI Skins from the iAudiophile.net forums like I recommended. My UI is perfect on my J3...no complaints at all.Rodster wrote:I like the scroll menu so it's not like your lost, you have a real good idea whats behind door #1. I'm fine with the J3 as I know my way around the device now. What i'm talking about is the UI package both hardware and software. The i10's UI is complimented with the touchpad. It's like the iPod classic scroll wheel.
What I would like is to be able to change the background color of the C2 from white to something else.

DB have you had a chance to try out the new Samsung Galaxy Players? The Amazon reviews say the sound is really exceptional.
Also what are your thoughts about the Dr. Dre Beats audio in the new HTC Phones. The commercial I saw said that they have studio sound.

No...don't need a galaxy player, so not gonna get one. Plenty happy with my J3...does everything I need.Rodster wrote:DB have you had a chance to try out the new Samsung Galaxy Players? The Amazon reviews say the sound is really exceptional.

As for Beats audio...garbage in general. Headphones are crap, processing chip is crap in their HP laptops and from everything I've read, the HTC Rezound w/ Beats is the same over processed, bass featured crap that the entire Beats line is based on. No thanks.

I got the VSonic R06 headset today and I don't like them when I compare them to my NuForce NE-700X. They sound tinny with little to no bass. Even if I crank the bass way up there's too much highs and very little lows.
With the NuForce's I have everything pretty much sounds spot on, solid lows, nice mids and good highs.

Wow really? I found them very similar to the 700xs. I wonder if you got a good seal (bad seal = no bass)...I mean there are like 5000 different tips included.Rodster wrote:I got the VSonic R06 headset today and I don't like them when I compare them to my NuForce NE-700X. Sh*t when I say NO I mean almost no base. I did replace the tips before I tried them so maybe that's the reason. I'll check on that later, thanks for the suggestion.

So you good now?
Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
Yeah they sound great, thanks !
I didn't realize the sound can change drastically if the ear-tip is doesn't have a good seal.

LOL...why do you think they include so many? Everyone's ears are different and a good fit changes the sound dramatically...obviously.Rodster wrote:Yeah they sound great, thanks !

Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
I don't think it was the ear tip I used because when you mentioned make sure there's a good seal on the tip of the headset, I checked and they really weren't all that snug and almost fell off the headset. I had to push in and rotate them until they were pushed all the way back of the headphone.
After I did that, that's when I heard the bass.

Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
Crap I forgot to mention, these really do sound nice, like you said a little cleaner but I do notice they sound a little louder which is always good.

Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
So you are wearing them in the correct orientation right? The cables should go up and over your ears...they are designed to go that way, not the normal wires hanging down way.
Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
I'm wearing them like this.

Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
Okay...with the ear guides and up over the ears. That's right. I've known many people that try to wear over the ear headphones as normal headphones and not only do they look ridiculous, but obviously the sound will suffer.
Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
Honestly they sound the same with or without the ear guides. The only benefit to me is they don't fall out as easily if the cord gets snagged.
Re: OT: Finally...A Worthwhile MP3 Player (really long)
DB any really nice sounding over the ear headphones you'd recommend for the Cowon J3?

Like, full sized headphones? If yes, you need to give me a price point. For under 100...go Brainwavz HM3Rodster wrote:DB any really nice sounding over the ear headphones you'd recommend for the Cowon J3?

For a really nice pair, under 200ish...wait for the V-Moda M-100s that should be out in Jan. or Feb. this year. They are the more balanced version of the V-Moda LP2s that I absolutely love (and I do all my gaming and music listening to at home, but they are slightly bass heavy). I can't wait till the M-100s come out...that's my next electronic purchase without a doubt.
