Better frame rates, better physics, much denser city (people, plants, trees, cars)...it's just much more immersive. I'm finally caught up to where I was previously, so now I can finally start seeing some new stuff.
Agree. It looks amazing for everything that's on screen at one time.

My 12 year old watched me play for about 20 minutes, and I thought to my "what kind of father am I?" This is definitely not a game for his age, even though a friend of mine allows his 12 year old to play it, and I've heard other kids his age playing this. Thus, every time I'm done play, I eject the disk, put it back in the case, and hide it away.

Great game and one that'll probably take me months to complete as I only play 45 minutes here and there.

Same as me...I get about an hour to an hour and a half tops...so it will definitely take me a while to finish it.

You'd be stunned at what 12 year olds hear and see at school. I've gone through all ends of the spectrum, from trying to shield them to educate them.

There's no right answer, each parent makes their own decisions. I can say that I tried my damndest with my eldest daughter to prevent her from seeing stuff like that. I can't control what they see at school, and I couldn't control what she did when she was at her mom's house. She was still pregnant by 17.

I will try to stop going off on a tangent here, but I will say hardly "what kind of father am I?", and more along the lines of trying to control the understanding of the information flow once they start to get into teen years (or close to it). Explaining things (not everything obviously) in ways that they can understand. That's the groove I ended up settling into by the time my 3rd and 4th kids were old enough to comprehend sex and violence.

Different set of kids, probably a different set of answers. Life sucks

Yeah the online heists are going to be fun. Made it to the Paleto Score heist in story mode last night and robbing the bank and then the huge battle with the police and military outside and then through the chicken factory was one of my favorite single player game experiences ever, mega fun!

SLACKER!

Grand Theft Auto Online players hoping to celebrate the holidays in Los Santos can download the "Festive Surprise" update to add snowball fights, Christmas sweaters and more, Rockstar Games announced today.

A new homing missile launcher and proximity mines are available permanently, as are new vehicles Hot Rod Christmas Ratloader, Slam Van, and the Massacro and Jester sports cars. Players can now own a third garage to stash their cars, and weapons can be found at in-game store Ammu-Nation.

'tis true, but I have a good excuse. I was setting up my new 75" Samsung TV, which took some time to calibrate and whatnot. :)

I'll be back with you stooges soon.

Cheapest achievement ever was getting credited with playing GTA in first person for 15 hours when I started the game up tonight after shutting it down last night and the console went into the instant on powered off with me in first person in the car, haven't even put 15 minutes into first person view. :)

Going to pick this up at Fry's tonight for $40 but undecided on which system to get it for.

I may go w/ PS4 since I can play thru headphones so my kids don't hear. Or thinking about XBO since I have friends w/ the game and can try online with them.

Other than that, the game is pretty much the same on both systems right?

Yeah, pretty much the same. Do your PS headphones work with the XB1? If they do that makes the decision easy.

no i need to buy that adapter then. any major advantages on XBO? Like driving wise, can you race? I like the XBO controller if there is racing involved.

There's a lot of driving in GTA single player and all sorts of races in GTA online.

Graphics are quite a bit better on the ps4 (especially the density of vegitiation). But if you like the controller better...why not get it for that system? Seems like a silly decision to fret over.

True. One more question - can XBO deliver game audio thru the chat headset that came in the box? I can't seem to find an option to do that.

Yes. However if you want to use your own headset you need to buy the headset adapter.
