You started your franchise w/ default settings then...and haven't manually saved them "inside" of the franchise, if you know what I mean.
Basically, go into your franchise, start a game, edit your settings, finish the game, stay in the franchise screens and save your profile. If you don't start your franchise with the settings you want, you have to do the manual save one time. Get it?
And yes, it's ridiculous that they don't just save with the franchise if you make an adjustment. I think I explained it wrong in my previous post.
I figured it out. I had adjusted the Global settings and didn't realize that I also had to hit R1 to make changes to my Profile settings. I can see why they would allow two sets of settings but it's very non-intuitive the way they set it up.
I love how well this game plays out of the box. I've drawn at least two walks per game with default All-Star settings. I managed to draw five in a game last night, including three with Aramis Ramirez alone. The extra base hits are also much improved. In the same game, I went 5-for-6 with Derrek Lee, including three doubles.
The funny thing is, I used to play with guess pitch on, but since turning it off, I think I've become a better hitter. I found it had to resist swinging if I guessed correctly, even on pitches clearly out of the zone. Turning it off seems to have helped my patience at the plate.
