The technical term for those people is "idiots."
The game is linear, and it is very story-heavy, but it is intense and very engrossing. I can understand if some people don't think it's the best, but I don't get how someone who is a gamer would not enjoy it on some level. It's neck-and-neck with Resident Evil 4 as my favorite game of all time.

I have $28 in BB credit and have been going back and forth about which game to purchase. This seems like a no brainer.
You will love it. I've never played a game where I felt so involved. The characters are so deep and believable. It was like playing thru and being a part of a great movie.

Well they actually work for 2 gaming companies but told me it wasn't really the cut scenes, but more of the stealthy-ness in the game that bored them. I actually like stealth so I may enjoy it more then them. I think it's at 30 bucks but I've seen it around 20 most of the times. I know it's like 55 gigs. But maybe will try it out after i'm done with GTA V.
Are you guys buying games for last gen still? I feel sort of guilty if I do it. My kids want that new Ultra Street Fighter game that came out last summer for 360. I'm like just wait for the PS4 version. But then again, I don't know if the DS4 can take a fighting game with kids using it. Just feel like going backwards here.
I was at Walmart this afternoon and saw NBA 2K15 for 29.99 sale. It's not online though, but looks only in store.
I have it on PS4, but for those of you who tried both, any gameplay difference in the XBO version?
I am seriously thinking now of going console monogamous. When I turned on the 360 for the first time in months I really appreciated the whole XB interface for both consoles. I was never a Sony guy, and I guess I don't mind taking a hit on some of the smoothness EA games have this year. But not sure what'll happen next year with EA, but the whole XB interface is so much more freindly and robust than PS4's.
Also my PS Plus 12 mo subscription ends today. I am not a fan of PS Plus. Paying $50 a year for this is a rip off. Unless they drastically improve, I'll just wait for a sale I guess.
For those of you who sold your ps4 for xbo, any regrets?

None here. Don't miss the PS4 at all for all the same reasons....

I still prefer the PS4 interface because I think it's closer to the 360's interface than the XBox One is. The XBO interface is fine, but I find it a bit more cluttered and less easy to navigate. The friends feed is awesome for the XBO, though.
I am glad I have both. I will probably lean XBO because more of my friends are on it, and it's better for multiplayer as well as shooters because of the controller. But I will play the hell out of The Show when it comes out (still the best sports game around). I will also probably play The Order, too, even though previews have been somewhat mixed.

This 100%. Everything is better about the PS4 EXCEPT for the huge friends list thing and no one else really having PS4s (except for three or four from here). If The Show wasn't around, I'd have no idea the PS4's graphics were so much better (especially the Golf Club)...and I wouldn't know what I was missing. Dammit Sony for having the one game I simply cannot live without.
Ya the show was good but it's still baseball meaning games take too long even w the speed up features. I prob won't get it this year. Last year it was fine bec not many other things to play for a first year console. Not sure I want to keep it just for the show.
Rodster wrote:I think both UI's suck but the PS4 is the better of the two.
I agree with this 95%. I just think the PS4 is the closer of the two from what we were used too, I don't think it is really better just less of a learning curve. I still can't figure s*** on on the XB1 and I've had it since launch.

Sounds like you are a casual baseball guy...and that is fine. If you love baseball The Show has no competition. If all developers were on par with this game we would all be happy gamers.

Yeah, I loathe attempts to speed up the game. I may not be a fan of the The Show, but it sure had nothing to do with how long it takes to play a game. But I worry that once EA, or whoever, decide to finally bring a proper baseball game to the Xbox, they will feel compelled to mess with it in ways that breaks the strategy of the game. It's why it boggles my mind that anyone would use quick counts in a sim, as though the process of working the count is a boring part of the game.
Well I did a 180 tonight, played like PS4 for 4 hours. NBA 2K15. It's like crack. The My Team mode is so addictive. Mainly because it's hard and challenging. I'll just keep both systems I guess. I'll probably end up buying ps4 down the road anyway if I sell it.
Only bad thing about this gen now is it's turned me into a couch potato. I think since this last holiday season, I've just spent too much time on the couch playing games. I had a good break from it like for 3-4 years last gen since I was very casual, but XBO and PS4 have really got me back into gaming full time. It can be a bad thing and I should try to cut down.
I'm enjoying both systems, but probably favor the PS4 ever so slightly.
Xbox One
+ Forza series - Forza Horizon 2 is my racing game of year
+ Controller is perfect for racers and FPS
+ The ESPN app has allowed me to catch a couple Jayhawk games I would have missed. (don't like watching on a computer)
+ Xbox Live, but I really haven't gamed online too much
+ EA Access - outstanding get for MS.
+ A decent variety of games I still wish to play (Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Halo MCC).
+ Decent voice controls, but I don't really use them.
+ The system is whisper quiet
+ Friends list set up nicely and feels like a community
- Games on the horizon don't interest me all that much
- Not a big fan of the UI. It's a little sluggish for my tastes
- The UI needs to cater more to the majority of gamers who solely use the controller to move around
- I just couldn't get into the voice controls for controlling the tv. Too hit or miss for me.
- Every so often, the system requires a hard reset.
PS4
+ Naughty Dog - The Last of Us is fantastic and has a great story so far. Looking forward to UC4
+ MLB The Show
+ UI - It's incredibly fast and seamless
+ Love the PS4 controller for sports games, and it's decent for shooters
+ The new themes give the UI some character and life
- The system can sound like it's really chugging when loading and installing games.
- Sony needs to implement folders so I don't have a row of 10 plus games to sort through
- Frequent maintenance and going offline is frustrating, but it rarely affects me
- This is petty, but don't like how easy/sensitive the PS button is on the controller. I've accidentally turned it on quite a few times.
