Being a Sharks' fan, I know what Vancouver fans are feeling. The Kings are not even close to as dominant as the series score indicates. Quick is basically stealing the series in conjunction with some good D and great coaching. Having Sedin out surely helps as well. Even with the way LA is playing I would much rather see them play SJ rather than Vancouver. I'm not sure if SJ will even get past the Blues, but if they do I will be jubilant.

As for the Pens/Flyers game, I felt like I had entered the Twilight Zone. I can appreciate that Crosby was trying to get in the heads of the Flyers and pump up his teammates, but I agree with those who say he needed to be the steady, mature one out there and help get his team focused on hockey and not gamesmanship. A little agitating and chirping is nothing new for Sidney, but coming off a major head injury I was utterly shocked at his behavior. He doesn't need to be giving a hated rival even more reason to destroy him in a fight or a check. I thought this series would be a long one, but I don't think Pit will get beyond 5 games. Phi would have to have a pretty epic meltdown to lose this series. Their special teams look incredible.

That Flyers Pens game has been on the NHL Network this afternoon.

Yowza! was correct.

Not sure what to expect in tonights Blues/Sharks tilt. One thing i'm sick of and it goes both ways here are the blatant cheap shots. Granted San Jose started it with a couple of dirty hits by Galiardi and Burns, both should have been subject to suspension but Shanny for whatever reason failed again at his job. Blues were incensed about the McDonald hit and McDonald fired back with a cheapshot of his own on Couture. As much as I love Vladi Sobotka, his sucker punch on Dominic Moore was disgusting. I don't know what's going to happen to Sobotka the rest of the series but, whatever the Sharks do to him, he definitely deserves it, I just hope it's Sobotka that pays the price for it and not another Blues player.
Not sure either team wants to lose control and possibly blow the series in game 3 tonight. Something tells me it will be more business tonight than brawl and I'm ok with that. Take names and numbers and settle it in game 6 or game 7 when the time is right. With all that said....

The sad thing about the first week of the playoffs is that thuggery has been the common thread through nearly all of the series. We're not talking about great goals, passes, saves and clean hits. We're talking about the same sh*t that has plagued this league like a crotch rash over the last two or three years -- cheap shots, head shots and inconsistent discipline from the NHL.

It's pretty obvious that, after a promising start in his new job, Shanny has become a puppet or toothless. He set the tone for these playoffs by failing to suspend Weber for his hit on Hank Zetterberg, and the rest of the playoffs have spiraled down the same dark hole.

Don't mistake this sh*t for the intensity of playoff hockey, boys. This is a joke. A return to the Dark Ages of the early 1970s.

I can only hope there's a course correction -- either from Shanny or the players -- in the next three rounds. But I'm not holding my breath.

I agree . We have had what I hope is only a temporary return to the early /mid 70's.

Betman is winning. Hockey is losing.

In fairness there have been oubursts of this s*** before. There were the Habs-Nordiques of the 80s. So again, hopefully its not a trend toward the milbury filth of the world but just a blip on the radar.

C'mon, it's really not as bad as you make it sound, it is the hockey playoffs. Both teams are taking shots at one another and nothing has really been anywhere close to some of the hits from the other series going on around the league.

I'm excited for tonight, go Blues!

Gotta say I agree with this. I don't love Crosby but I'm not a hater like a lot of people. I had no problem at all with the glove thing with Voracek. If Max Talbot would have done that to Malkin I would have gotten a chuckle out of it. I think he was just looking for a spark. I'm not saying I agree with everything he did but I wasn't overly upset with him. Asham and Neal were just gutless with their actions.

It sure as hell is that bad...Did you see the Sobotka cheap shot? because it was not shown on TV. All you saw during the game was Sobotka taking Moore to the ice and then a punch when he was down...that was not the sucker punch. After I saw it, The Sharks have every reason to be angry. That sucker punch by Sobotka against Dominic Moore who's not a brawler was as bad as I've ever seen and I've been a hockey fan since I was 5 years old.

There are rumors that Daniel Sedin is on the way to California for a team skate and practice tomorrow. If so, I surely hope that it was his decision and not management's. The odds of coming back from a 0-3 deficit are tough and only 3 teams have done it. Having said that, if he's ready that would be a huge boost for the offense. I don't think the team has played poorly to be on the brink, a bounce here and there and the game could have easily gone the other way yesterday. Whatever decision Daniel makes, I hope that he makes the right one, one game is not worth a career when it comes to head injuries.

I wouldn't play him even if he says he's ready. Too much risk. I don't care if Vancouver is a big rival of the Sharks, I hate it when players get head injuries, and do not want to see anyone have their health and career ruined. If he does come back hopefully he keeps his head up.

Rangers just went up, but I don't see why they're the #1 seed yet. They're ok, maybe just the Sens are a good matchup for them.

Sharks have a good shot vs STL. I'm only saying that based on the Sharks playoff experience vs STL and the Sharks play well at home.

The Sharks top two lines need to really come up big. The Blues top lines have been outplaying them so far. If the Thornton and Couture lines can score some goals I like the chances of the Sharks.

They are standing in between the circles watching the scrum in the corner and Sobotka just clocks him and breaks his nose. There was no reason for that. It's Dominic Moore. Fights are fine, I don't have a problem with that but sucker punching and cheap shots need to go and I''ve seen plenty of hockey since 1971...I've lived and died with the Blues since I was 5.

Again, it's playoff hockey, maybe he said, hey Sobotka, I f***ed your sister last night, she gives good head. Did you see the elbow one of the Sharks threw during the game?

Watch the Flyers - Penguins series if you want to see what cheap shots are all about.

Forget what I said about Playoff experience. This is an ass kicking and it's still in the 2nd period. Sharks are playing passive style/ regular season mode while STL knows it's the playoffs.

Well , on the bright side of things, at least I can switch to watching Hotel Impossible during the 3rd period.

It went from easy to sweating it out, though.

I do feel much better moving forward now. I don't thin SJ wins another game in the series.

And the PP did it for them. Perhaps, the 'Nucks should take a page out of Hitchcock's book who are yet to score with the extra man. They were a lot of non calls in this game, a chirpy affair that should go the distance.

The Caps-Bruins series is closer than what I thought. Another OT to decide the winner and N. Backstrom will certainly be suspended for taking a crosscheck similar to the one A.Asham took on Schenn.

And D. Sedin is confirmed to take full practice with the team tomorrow, he's been skating on his own and will be game day decision.

It actually didn't go to OT, but it was certainly close. The Caps deserve a ton of credit. They've implemented a great strategy in this series and Holtby has been terrific. But you can tell they are giving 110% effort and can still barely stay with the B's and I think this loss was a backbreaker. It's still early in the series, but you could see them deflate when Chara scored what turned out to be the game winner.

As far as Backstrom, pure stupidity. If I'm Dale Hunter I'm all over his a** after the game. And it wasn't just the crosscheck, he had two other just plain dumb penalties. And the last essentially cost them the game as they had a man advantage when he took it. Dumb.
