I'm 100% confident I've never finished a season in the first week of a Madden release. I'm 14 games in an in the process of number 15. I'm 7-7 and on the brink of playoff elimination and I've got the Pats/Jets to finished off the season. Gonna be tough to get in. All-Pro default is fantastic.

Re: Madden NFL 12
I'm confident weather is broken in franchise mode.
Second to last game of the year at Greenbay and it's 54 degrees and you could say ok that might happen. 2nd week of December at Denver 65 degrees. All my home games in Chicago in November and December have all been over 40 degrees, I play a late November game is 70+ degree weather.
I would say the chance of seeing any snow in a franchise game is zero.

AP default is excellent and each team you play feels different. Bradford is accurate, but I can't get any big passing plays, just short dinks here and there.dbdynsty25 wrote:I'm 100% confident I've never finished a season in the first week of a Madden release. Thinking about signing TO..

First console football game in many, many, years that a CPU team rushed for over 100 yards against me (this includes the excellent NCAA 11) and heck, they damn near broke 200.
Re: Madden NFL 12
I'm having a challenge w/ all pro default as well.
On other forums, there are people saying it's too easy and they can win w/ the worse teams, so maybe I'm just not that good at videogame football.
My Saints Franchise I am 5-0 but i've played cupcake teams except for the Packers so far. Each game has been close except for 2, bears and panthers. I do like using the Saints because they are good and a good team to learn the game with.
I may actually try 2nd year franchise this year instead of quitting and starting over w/ a new team.

Re: Madden NFL 12
Ok I have set up a 360 online franchise and I'm going to try out this League manager thing once it is fully launched. It has contracts, salary cap etc. I'll be honest I don't know how it all works and since it is not all launched yet I can't play with it.
I have the limit set at 16 players right now and I took the Panthers just for kicks. I have to send you a url if you want in and a password. You then need to go to it and make an account at the LM site. I have no idea how good LM is and again this will be an experiment for me. So if you're going to come in and play and start bitching about how it is set up and anything else don't bother.
The league is set to 10 minute games with run off to 15 seconds (subject to change). The level is All Pro, I can't make slider adjustments and I can't adjust the speed either so keep that in mind before asking to be in.
Teams are on a first come first server basis, meaning you ask here to be in the league I will PM you the link and password and then you sign in and take your team. Keep in mind we can;t start right away until LM gets all their modules online which should happen this week. There is also discussion boards tied to our specific league over there etc.
I'm not just going to post the url and password here because there are lurkers and they might jump into the league and I retain the right to refuse anyone. Sorry if that sounds like me being a dick but having run several of these leagues there are a few people who sign up and then never play their games and quit, you know who you are and sorry you can start your own franchise.
If by some chance we get more then 16 people interested then I will think about adding more spots. The last league at one point had 24 owners and it worked great for the first year until people started dropping. As far as how much we play? I'd like to do 2 games a week.

Re: Madden NFL 12
I can't say. LM hasn't rolled out all the features because they are waiting for servers to stabilize. They said this week, so at least a week possibly longer. You should sing up even if you'll be away you can drop and then come back etc. Up to you though.XXXIV wrote:Dan what day is the league kicking off?

Re: Madden NFL 12
The only thing I would like to see is the backups getting a little playing time. I wonder if I up the fatigue slider a tab, if that would do what I'm wanting it to?
Re: Madden NFL 12
Danimal, I'll throw my hat in the ring for the league. Are we limiting ourselves to one conference, or any other such thing to reduce the games against the CPU? How long do 10 minute games take head to head? I prefer accelerated clock set to 0:20, FWIW. Or maybe 0:18?
Also, thanks for the invite to the DSP community, but I'm surprised to see all the settings at default. It seems to me the whole point of communities to be able to play games online with adjusted settings and sliders and have it keeps records of those games. That and also as a sort of team-play club function.
So go ahead and put in your slider settings and all that. I prefer six minute games myself, but I haven't messed with any sliders and I'd be curious to see how yours would play head to head.
I need to try some team play ts time around. Even just playing v CPU in that mode sounds like a lot of fun. Heck if we could get six together sometime and go three on three, that should be a lot of fun.

Re: Madden NFL 12
I started a franchise last night and lost my first preseason game to the Redskins 26-22 with 12 minute quarters on all pro default, took about an hour to complete but I probably did watch a few too many replays. Had an error when a Redskin player got hurt and then it went into this loop of showing the field from multiple angles, the Redskins playclock ticked down to 1 second and stayed there and I ended up having to call a timeout to get back to the gameplay.
The depth for the backup kickers were weird as I had 2 kickers and 2 punters and after the first quarter until the end of the game my starting kicker was doing the punting, my starting punter was kicking the field goals and my backup kicker was doing the kickoffs and the backup punter didn't play.
I had to make 4 cuts after the game and I can see this is going to be hard as the preseason goes on as I want to keep everyone.

You have to up that (I have it at 65) and mess around with the sub in/out sliders. I haven't found a good set.MizzouRah wrote:The only thing I would like to see is the backups getting a little playing time. I wonder if I up the fatigue slider a tab, if that would do what I'm wanting it to?

I think i'll pickup Madden 12 when I get my Ebay bucks on 10-3. Does Ebay tie your Ebay bucks to the account cause I have another one that's getting bucks around the same time?Lancer wrote:Rod - so will you be keeping Madden or have you not tried it yet?

Re: Madden NFL 12
Wow...once you get to the offseason, the bidding process for free agents is a BLAST. However, the problem is that you run out of money QUICKLY, especially when you factor in the rookies you still have yet to draft and sign. I went 9-7 in my first Dolphins season and missed the playoffs, so I had some upgrades to make. I spent way too much on wide receivers (steve smith and santana moss) when I already had good ones, so I had to neglect the rest of my team. Gonna be rough this next season.
Re: Madden NFL 12
I have to admit I am intrigued by this. One of the things I like about NCAA is that acquiring players each season is a more interestng minigame, realistic or not. I have always hated how all games handle the NFL's free agent process. This seems like a cool workaround.dbdynsty25 wrote:Wow...once you get to the offseason, the bidding process for free agents is a BLAST. I never got to an off-season with the pre-release version. I should have simmed ut to one to check it out.

Re: Madden NFL 12
Damn double post!
Re: Madden NFL 12
I know Madden has problems... but it's damn fun.
It reminds me of MVP 05. It just returns to playing 'simple' football. Want to throw a hook route, you don't have to fight the AI to do it if you time it right. Want to dink a 3 yard pass, it's a high percentage play but not going to win you many games. Have a one on one with a DB, throw it up there and you may get it, the CPU may get it, or no one may get it.
Then there's the players, for the FIRST time ever, players actually matter. Just played Cincy v Broncos (started a new Franchise) and Palmer was out. Gradkowski was 7-9 for 53. Then I nailed him late in the 2nd to put him out of the game. Their 3rd QB went something like 9-21 for 100 yards, 2 INTs, 3 sacks etc.
Then there's flow of a game. I don't know if I'm making this up, but INTs, fumbles, sacks seem to change the chemistry of a game. At the right time you can change momentum in your favor. You can also lose it.
It makes every game different. (I think Madden needs a few tweaks that can be done with sliders.) But you can actually play football instead of worrying about the AI cheats in the game.

Re: Madden NFL 12
Zep sent you a PM. I didn't limit anyone on their choice of team, we can switch around I believe before we start with the LM stuff. Right now there is only 4 of us, I swore more people were interested I guess I was wrong. As for time it should take less then an hour to play a 10 minute game with run off at 15 or even 20.Zeppo wrote:Danimal, I'll throw my hat in the ring for the league. As for the community I didn't make it Badgun did you would have to talk to him. I saw only he and I had signed up so I sent some invites. Personally I would change them and I would want to do some team play. Guess we could always start are own community.

Yeah, I don't want to mess with much, but getting some carries and playing time from my backups would pretty much make this game perfect for me. I've found out that sometimes you start messing with things and things can get worse though and injuries are happening enough that I might just leave it alone.JRod wrote:You have to up that (I have it at 65) and mess around with the sub in/out sliders.
