Terry, Vader and I just played an OTP game as the Steelers against the Raven in a driving snow storm and lost 17-10. Probably the most fun i have had with madden this year.

This mode would be a blast 3 on 3.

Didn't think OTP in Madden would be that great but that was quite fun.

Yeah, I was shocked. It's funny relying on other guys to make plays, or being the obvious goat when you get overaggressive and give up a huge 50 yard bomb

We have to do that again. Changing up roles would be fun, too. But that was hilarious last night. HUGE fun.

The real reason Madden sales are down (even if they aren't, of course)?

I want to give OTP a try. Sounds like it's pretty fun.

I would like to as well. Maybe we can get a 3-on-3 game this weekend?

Agreed. It's like a totally different game. Impossible to have 2 other teammates & not work together.

Shouldn't GT be here posting sales data? He assured us he would.

http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/70741 ... gn=TheFeed

The title according to GT:

Video Game Sales Down 10% in August: Madden to Blame

Seriously, not only did Madden take the top two spots, but NCAA 11 for the 360 came in #9. I think EA football is in okay shape.

But they can take a minus one from me. I traded in Madden on NHL 11. NCAA was a keeper, though.

After the flurry of patches, I may pick Madden up agains later in the year, if I get a serious itch for the NFL. But NHL 11 may keep that from happening.

Why stir this up all over again? Makes no sense, after it had finally calmed down. Instigating won't help.

As for me, I'm still not sold on the game offline against the AI. But Online Team Play has significantly renewed my interest in the game.

Downloaded the latest patch and rosters - one thing they did fix, running game. But running is too easy now, but hey, I'll take it, because before I couldn't hardly run the ball with any consistency.

Another cool thing is the MADDEN MOMENTS LIVE. Its sort of like the 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP game where once the Real life game ended, EA would upload the game moments to replay in the videogame. Same thing here. After this week's opener, they will download game moments from week 1 so we can replay.

They already have 5 games out there from last year Superbowl/NFC Champ game and a couple of other games. They all say purchased so I hope you don't have to buy these extra Moments from EA.

I started a US game sales thread for that reason but GT already said he's coming back in this thread undeterred to post new Madden sales numbers for next month.

It appears that Madden moments will not be free at least from what I picked up. The 5 free Madden moments were from last year. I'm assuming that it will cost via Madden coins to buy more Madden moments for the first week of the new season. But we shall see once EA posts them on their server.

I am not sure that you can make a direct correlation between the flat line in NFL season ticket sales and Madden sales. Let's face it, the economy stinks, most of us have had no or little raises the last few years and the price of gas is up at least a buck a gallon from the good old days. As long as EA doesn't start charging seat license fees to reserve my copy of Madden, it is not a big deal. And if I lose my job and have to hock my 360 - again, no big deal.

Personally, I have held on to Madden because it has been a good enough off-line game to stay in the rotation. NCAA is a better game this year, but Madden is the only NFL game in town and the patches have helped.

Ok, seriously WTF happened!!

A week ago I was playing good games with the patch and roster update, defense was playing better and everything was fine. I was not around the end of last week but I downloaded the Opening day rosters yesterday and started my franchise. Maybe it was a fluke but the defense totally went away again.

First everyone was faster, I don't know why but the game moves faster as a whole. Defenders went back to not guarding receivers, the running game because incredibly easy..I'm talking huge holes. Det vs CHI combined for 512 yards on the ground with 12 Min / 25 sec run off. Worst of all the accuracy of the QB's seemed to return to super standards.

Jay Cutler finished the game 26-27, 6 TD and 378 yards. This is mainly because not one receiver was covered every and I had all day to throw.

Like a dumb ass I over wrote the previous roster update that seemed to correct all these problems.

Unreal, I hope the next patch makes this game playable.

I haven't noticed that. Last night Lions vs. Packers. I was the Lions. Stafford for me goes 9 for 21 1 td 0 int's. Rodgers goes 18-35 202 yards 2 td 1 int.

Although, now that I think about it, I am using the last pre-season roster for this franchise, not the opening day rosters.

That's what I mean that roster file seemed like a gift, everything played beautiful. I can't believe I was stupid enough to over write it.

You should download the opening day rosters and try and game and see if I am just high or if there is something noticeable.

I restarted my online franchise with the new rosters on Sunday night playing 15 minute quarters on All Pro with 25 second clock runoff and everything seemed to work out good for me but it was only one game. Matt Ryan started off hot but ended up 15 of 28 for 150 yards. Anyhow here are the team stats from that game:

Hmm.

Maybe my roster was not loaded and it was using the default. I thought the game loaded the last roster file on load.

I don't know. . .my Online Franchise game last night was a track meet:

Lions 52 Bears 45

Cutler had 517 yards passing and 4TD with 10 minute quarters, 15 second runoff. I was trying to slow play it but when you have open receivers running freely down the field. . .

Had a chance to tie it at 52 but was stopped at the one yard line in the final seconds. . .

This game (without sliders) is a joke. . .it's just so discouraging because last year was so much fun. . .

The other problem that I noticed was some major lag at times. . .hopefully that was a one-time thing.

Pretty easy to see why no franchise mode improvements were made this year. Wonder if Josh Looman and company have already started cooking up ways to add paid-DLC components to the "new and improved" franchise mode they plan to unleash on the faithful next year:

"The first set of Madden Moments Live are now out on the 360 and PS3. There are four that come from week one, with the Lions-Bears, Packers-Eagles, and Cardinals-Rams as ones that stood out for this treatment. The NFL Kickoff game with the Vikings-Saints is the fourth which didn’t really seem to warrant one outside of it being a compelling NFC Championship rematch.

Madden Moments Live can be purchased on an individual basis (2000 coins/67 cents), as a full weekly set (5000 coins/$1.67), or as full season pass for all that will be released this year (60000 coins/$20)."

http://www.pastapadre.com/2010/09/15/ma ... -available

"Hey everybody -

I'm Josh Looman, the lead designer of Ultimate Team, back with the Ultimate Team additions blog going into the 2nd week of the NFL season.

... [MUT nonsense] ...

Well, that's all for the Madden Ultimate Team updates this week. As I mentioned last week, we'll release a new blog each week detailing the new players or collections released in the game. We'll also continue to support the game for the rest of the season, so stay tuned for news about improvements down the road."
