Just got back from Watkins Glen last night, so hopefully I'll be able to download the game and hop on with all of you guys soon. I'll have to check and see if I can buy the game today while at work, so I have the unlock code when I download the full thing tonight.

By the way, Watkins Glen was a blast, what an old school feel that place has. We went to dinner one night in town at a place with old F1 pictures (signed of course) covering the walls. Lots of racing folk showed up to eat, and while I didn't recognize anyone, one older British man looked very familiar to me for some reason.

Anyway, I hope to be online soon!

I think that works for me. I'm rescheduling some things around my (real-life) hockey right now and Tuesday is not booked.

Can we start off with Advanced trainers to get everyone (including me) trained up?

Tuesdays works for me too. I will drive anything, I don't care. I like the F3's the most but I don't really care what type of car is under my a$$ once the green flag drops.

Very fun day at a great track, indeed.

Just an FYI... If you are willing to pay using a Credit Card, there is no waiting for codes involved, you will be immediately ready to go online and play.

Don, by the way...I saw the DSP servers yesterday and tried to join the F3 one, but it kept taking me to the Advanced Trainer car selection screen. Not sure if there's something set incorrectly or what, but I couldn't join the F3 server in an F3 vehicle.

Yes, we got to the Glen Friday night. A friend of mine at work has a brother who used to be on Danica Patricks crew, but left about a month ago to go back to Michael Shank Racing in the Rolex series, so I really wanted to see them race. As it turns out, his car finished 3rd!

Too bad I didn't get to meet you, but it looks like we may head back to Indy next year. I got a letter in the mail from IMS, and I can still get my seats in stand H, plus Michelin may throw in a couple extra tickets; so all I'm waiting for is a confirmation from a few buddies and if they're all for it then I'll send for the tickets. If we do head out I'll let you know, it would be cool to meet you after posting back and forth all this time.

Oh, and the British gentleman sitting next to us at dinner looked like Sir Stirling Moss. I know, I know, what are the chances. I can't find any info on the web as to whether he was around at the time, so who knows. But it sure looked like him (now that I've found a few recent pictures of Sir Stirling on the web). Makes a nice story anyway! The name of the restaurant was The Montage.

Yea, I saw the new servers too! There is a new racecast update FYI.

On another note, I haven't been around much b/c I am a new daddy again :) My daughter was born Sunday morning @ 0222. Mom and baby are both doing well, and this birth went a lot smoother than that of my sons. He is also a very haooy little bug. He really wanted a brother, but he has come around to having a lil sis and being her big brother.

I am playing tonight as I am home alone, and Tues sounds AWESOME for me! I may not make it right at 9:30 but I will be close.

On the subject of a league, I have already joined one (crossfiremotorsports.net) but I am willing to run another if you do it Don.

Congratulations! My wife is pregnant with our second, due in May. The big thing now is trying to convince our daughter to go along with the whole baby idea. I don't know if she's ready for the competition yet.

I did get rFactor last night, and tried it a bit offline. The full game feels better than the demo, I'm not quite sure why. Anyway, what mods should I download to race with you guys?

Thanks and goodluck with the 1st child. Mine is now acting like a baby and wanting to be held like she is ( he is 4).

Anyhow, defiantely pick up the tracks Birmingham and Lime Rock. ALso pick up the F3 v1.1 These are by far my favorites!!! go to http://racecast.rfactor.net/ and get the latest racecast update. Then when you load the game next time, go to the mulitplayer tab then to setting. put in your email and pass and register for racecast. You then can go to the link above and log in there. You can see every server, search players see lap times and all kinds of cool stuff!

I hope a few of us get on tonight! Should be a good time. Also what about chatting with headsets? Terry mentioned using Live but not sure how that would work with more then 2 of us. I can see about using the Ventrilo that my league uses. I am sure we can do that if you guys are up for that?

The F3 v1.1 is a must. The tracks are also helpful.

I'd pick through this very thread and click the links that Don so graciously provided us. He makes it pretty easy to get all the racing sim stuff that you want in a single thread (and thereby maintains db's sanity as well) :D

Props to Don 8)

Could someone check out the servers before 9:30 tonight. I tested them all this morning internally. Connecting to each one from a different PC and making sure the correct series, tracks, and settings came up, but I need some outside testing to make sure all the port forwarding, etc. is correct. Worst case scenario I will go back to manually starting the dedicated server as we know that has worked for a few of you already.

Hope to see you all tonight at 9:30pm. Start off with advanced Trainers? 10 lappers? Any track preferences (I think I have them all in a loop right now).

Trainers are fine, 10 lappers are great.

Anything with pavement and corners is fine with me.

Sounds good to me, 10 lappers will work, that way we can play more then just 1 race and if you crash out, there is always next race!

Sounds good, I'll try to have everything updated and ready to roll by 930.

Oh, and here is a link to a picture of the car my friends brother works on:

Nice racing tonight guys. Here are a few shots of the finish between Seminole and Terry at the first race at Mills Park. Cory(Seminole) is the one without the front wing.

That was a sweet-a$$ race. I forgot to set my fuel tank back to race distance, so I had to make a pit stop to fuel up. Seminole lost his wing after a couple of excursions off-track, so I was able to close up to his bumper entering the final corner, pull even...and just ran out of real estate.

Nice pics Don!

The fact that rFactor saves online replays is awesome! Now I can relive my last place finishes over and over again! :D

After logging off with you guys, I ended up with enough points to upgrade my trainer, so I'm good to go there finally. Also, on the last race we had, I had some crazy lag/frame rate problems. Did anyone else? I wasn't sure if it was connection or graphics problems, so before I exited the game I lowered some graphics a bit. I had hopped into another race before I saw you guys on (the servers didn't show up in my list at first) and didn't have that problem.

Oh well, it was fun either way. rFactor is certainly worth the price of admission.

I've had an occasional period where it stutters and skips frames for a bit, but then clears up. It might happen once every 8 races or so. I haven't had it lately, though.

As for the server not showing up, make sure you hit refresh a few times. I just barely found that out...not all the servers show every time so just keep refreshing if you know the server is there until you see it.

Glad to have you runnin' with us :)
