Anybody playing this online with some impressions to share?

I'm feeling the itch and watching some youtube vids and reviews, and it seems like it really is stripped down, feet on the ground, basic gun-on-gun gameplay with 3-lane map design, which is the COD I loved. I haven't played a COD in a few years though, and I'm torn about dipping my toes back in.

The mad dash of yesteryears is definitely watered down. I haven’t noticed a particular weapon overpowering others but I am only around level 12. Playing Airborne is cool, with soooo many good games out there I try to get a round or two every day as I am enjoying the game very much.

Campaign mode has been quite enjoyable as well.

Finished campaign mode. Very well done, had memories of Medal of Honor in the early days with the PS2 when the franchise was just taking off. I was touched with the ending, maybe because it was Remembrance Day weekend, but I enjoyed the story very much.

Bought this one on sale for 34.99. Just barely digging into it, but I like the feel. Not as hyperactive as many previous versions. Still prefer battlefield, but this will be fun, and I always like the SP in the COD series.

Proof that I'm weak... Lol. But I like the story quite well thus far, so...

Campaign is very well done boys albeit a tad short for my taste. Reminded me a lot of the Medal of Honor days. Of course, the main beef is on the MP side here with a buffet of options. My favorites being War, Domination and Kill confirm.

I'm digging hardcore MP. Necessarily slows down the pace.

Domination is a faster paced battlefield on a much smaller scale.

Okay, War might be my new favorite MP mode. Objective based, attack and defend style gameplay. I like it.

EDIT: Okay yeah, I love this mode. Just rode in on a boat to the beach, had to rush the beach, take out the pillboxes, move inland... Holy crap. How cool.

Dude, I can't say enough about "operation Neptune" (the Omaha beach landing). Both sides, that is some of the most fun MP I've ever played.

Definitely a cool map. I had some nice kills (even for me) on that baby :D

Of all the MP modes, I have yet to play War. Sounds like its time!

Played War last night with Teal.

Yep, the maps are too small, with pre-determined paths that funnel you to carnage. Yep, the action is too frantic. But holy f*ck -- what fun.

This is the first COD I have enjoyed playing since COD 4, the original Modern Warfare, about 10 years ago. Ballistics feel great. The maps have enough nooks and crannies to keep it fun while creating mass carnage. The setting is fantastic. Teal is right: Playing the Omaha Beach map (Operation Neptune) is a hell of a rush.

I squealed and shouted like a pig on acid last night when people mowed me down. So much fun.

COD: WWII is a return to form for this franchise. Excellent. I didn't plan on playing it much after Santa brought it to our 12-year-old son. That plan has changed!

Absolutely awesome display with Teal and PK on COD War mode this evening. Pure entertainment. Charles Bronson and El Debarge would be proud of us.

Best COD since COD 4 (first Modern Warfare game), hands down.

Biggest surprise of the year for me in gaming. Would have never thought I'd have this much fun. I just bought it for the campaign, but War is flat out cool.

Bit of a frustrating night, both with COD and PUBG. PUBG was just overcrowded (probably because Major Nelson was on), and we only connected once. COD? Just a reminder that I'm not a spring chicken any more, and there are some really good players that can humiliate you. After Paul and Bill left, I played Operation Neptune (Omaha beach) again, and did pretty well. Didn't win either time, but was competitive, and that's all I ever ask for. Hoping for more War maps that don't include escorting a tank. I don't mind those, other than doing them too much. Neptune is the only map that doesn't require the escort. You just attack and defend land. Need a couple more maps like that. Carentan would be a good one. Pacific theater would be great. Mount Suribachi would be awesome.
