Just talked to my buddy at Gamestop--definitely not selling XB1 or PS4 versions on Friday for that.

He said there are pretty much no Next Gen deals, because people buying sh*t now are the ones frothing at the mouth and would easily pay full price for it (like me).

Seems like more than enough to get some good XBone BF4 squad action in together from time to time. Now if we can only get another 56 or so more DSP guys, we can have a full private DSP room going,

Has anyone messed around in commander mode? I wonder, does it utilize smart glass at all? Seems like a no brainer, but that may have to wait for BF 5.

Commander mode is a definite change of pace and a lot of fun. From a map view of the battlefield you get to deploy UAV Scans, fire off UAV EMPs, send Evac Orders (so if there’s a tank or cruise missile inbound you can warn the ground troops to get the hell out of dodge), designate opposing players as High Value Targets and more. As you accumulate points you can then send in cruise missiles, spawn a gunship (if available), or send in a supply drop. Not only do you get XP when solders heed your commands, the soldiers on the ground also get bonuses in the form of perk progression – again, this ensures that it’s in everyone’s best interest to cooperate.

It's very cool - if your team has a good commander your chances of winning are much higher because of the UAV spotting and bonuses. Some of the PC BF guys are incredible, played a match few nights ago where the commander was not only spotting targets but talking to the leader of each squad - was really neat.

EDIT: It also uses a dedicated iPad app for commander mode.

The 'Second Assault' maps are out on the XBONE version if you upgrade to Premium (which I did....for both PC and XBONE since I am a BF whore) - I'll write impressions later but you get new versions of Caspian Border, Operation Firestorm, Operation Metro (yuck) and Gulf of Oman (wooo!).

That's actually what it reminds me of. Downloading albums off of Napster over 56k.

I have DSL which is rated at 7mbps, but my real rate is usually around 6 and change.

Caspian Border 2014 & Gulf of Oman 2014 are just awesome. I joined a hardcore server on Caspian Border the other night by mistake and although hard it was challenging and fun. BF4 on next gen is worth the price of admission.

Just did it on the ipad and it was very cool. If you like strategy games you will like it. I racked up over 9000 points in the game I commanded and ranked up. Calling in missile strikes is gratifying

. I really enjoyed the mode.

Its weird to find. I clicked on it in the store and it said install but there is no prompt that it is installing....but it is

its actually downloading in the background I think on the One's Main menu if you look at BF4 it says installing with a % next to it.
