Thanks, mate!
Then my official answer is I'll have all DLC.

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
I can be there tonight as well. I don't have the car/driver pack, but I do have the classic track pack. I'll test my connectivity online here shortly, post-patch... it was a nightmare before the patch. I'll report back in shortly. Oh, I'm going to have to patch my communicator headband back together somehow; I stepped on it last week after leaving it laying in the floor and snapped it cleanly in two
Re: F1 2013 Race Night
I hate to be the drag but I do not have any of the extra dlc.
We will see if the game lets me play without it.

We could still do the 80s cars at Brands, which is F*CKING SUBLIME.XXXIV wrote:I hate to be the drag but I do not have any of the extra dlc.

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Don't know what's going on with my game, but my 360 freezes every time I get to qualifying or the race in online multiplayer (depending on whether the host has Q&R set). It lets me get into the garage, but as it's transitioning to the next scene... FREEZE!? It's happened three times tonight already
Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Well, my wheel is screwed up so I may try to join with a 360 controller...which I've never tried to use before, so it should be pathetic.
Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Enjoyed the race with you guys tonight, although the AI did some squirrely stuff during qualifying. I'm afraid I was a contributor to part of the mayhem in turn 1 of the first lap. Right after I crossed the start line, my cat jumped into my lap (in my Playseat Evolution mind you) and as he did so, he pulled the cord on my communicator. The headband for my communicator was being held together with Scotch tape
Naturally this distracted me from managing my car and I hit the AI car in front of me, who then careened into and already orientationally distressed pk500. I didn't suffer any significant damage, but I was hit with a drive-through. Unlike PK; however, I was able to continue racing after my drive-though. I don't think it helped matters that two online, League of Legends games were going on via the same router as my connection ('but Dad, these are ranked clan matches, we can let our team down!')
I need some serious seat time at India though; the middle sections of sector 2 and 3 are killing me! I think this game has some potential, I just wish the force feedback was a realistic as F1 2011... 2013 not even sniffing that right now. I would think that would be something that would be easily transferred to the next game in the series, especially one as tightly focused as this one

Sorry I was so quiet and dull, fellas. Had a day that wouldn't end and only had 45 minutes sleep pre-race, hence my being a bit out of sorts. Happy I stayed reasonably quick and wasn't a rolling hazard to anyone. I'm only 20 months away from my thirtieth decade, though, so I'm bound to start flagging more often.
Good fun as always, lads.

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
XXXIV, while I was rattling through the 1988 Williams drivers, I mentioned Jean-Louis Schlesser. He stood in for Nigel Mansell at Monza and wrote his name into F1 folklore by inadvertently punting Ayrton Senna out of the lead, giving Ferrari a 1-2 at home a month after Enzo Ferrari's death and preventing McLaren from sweeping all 16 races that year.
Not really his fault, as you shall see, but quite a way to mark your only F1 appearance. Here's the car you drove at Brands in action. Sorry: "action".

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Big fun, as always, even if odd penalties truncated my night. I may have been at fault in India, but receiving consecutive penalties for being hit twice in the gearbox at Brands was nutso.
F1 2013 is a fine game. It's a few tweaks of the officiating away from being brilliant.
Looking forward to racing with you cats next week!

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
After last night's double debacle for PK I've decided we will use rules and flags at the medium setting next time and see how it goes.
Otherwise I had a lot of fun. The Pro level AI was certainly competitive enough for our rusty abilities at India. I do so love driving on that track. It's very difficult to get right, but some of those corners in the middle and final sector are wicked fun when you do nail them. The bizarre AI behavior in qualifying was mighty weird, though. However, I can't say I was aware of anything super odd happening with the AI during the race outside of that mighty shlemozzel at the hairpin before the long front straight on the first lap.
Brands remains a mystery to me, but those classic cars are so different and so fun. I know I leave tons of time on those high speed corners on the back of the circuit. I just can't ever seem to get them right, especially that final right hander on the back. I would like to try the 2013 cars there soon, and I'd love love love to give Imola a try whether in the classic or the modern cars, so XXXIV, I think it will soon be time for you to grab that newly released DLC bundle which has both the 90s DLC packs included.
Good stuff. Now, if we can just gets few more guys racing with us ... At least this time, a bunch of guys actually have the game, so we've won half the battle. Of course Rob remains an enigma. Just get the damn dame, Rob! Or is your 360 now in moth balls?

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
That was fun, but I was horribly out of control. I fixed my wheelstand last night after the race, but it will take some serious work to find some good settings. I couldn't keep the car straight with a controller last night. It was a tall order to fire up the game for the first time and hop straight into an online race. Sorry for Adam, Zeppo, and Alex having to slow down and figure out what to do around my fishtailing, zig-zagging car.
There won't be a repeat performance of that behavior, I'm sorry about that. I just couldn't get out of my own way, let alone you guys.

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Terry, you have no need to apologize. Remember, we are always racing with XXXIV on the track, so, you know ...TCrouch wrote:Sorry for Adam, Zeppo, and Alex having to slow down and figure out what to do around my fishtailing, zig-zagging car.
Anyway, you are easily good enough on the track to know when someone is around you, and you made it ultra easy for me to slip by no matter how much difficulty you were having with the stick controller, so you weren't causing me any problems at all. It's always more fun to have more good people on the grid than not no matter what, so please come back often if you can.
Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Oh, just to clarify where my "out of left field" question came from last night about the wear multiplier setting... I've been racing a lot of NASCAR Inside Line lately, and I've got my season set at 30% race length with a 3X wear multiplier. I've been running 5 lappers in F1 2013, as I'm learning the game for the most part and hadn't looked to see that there isn't a wear multiplier in F1 2013.
I didn't hang around for the Brands Hatch race last night because my scotch tape repair job on my communicator head band wasn't going to get the job done any more. I'm buying some super glue for it today.
I made a comment last night about seeing some lag at one point, but it was only one isolated incident and that was when I was being passed by an AI car. Otherwise, it was as smooth as silk! I did notice that when everyone was in the lobby for the second race, I was seeing one red bar for all on the ping level. Of course this was at a time when both of my sons were heavy into a League of Legends match, so that may have had some bearing on it. I had two yellow bars on everyone just before we started our first race.

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Nowt to be sorry for, mate. I knew you were letting me go by into Paddock the first time around and then when I was near you on the last lap, I had a little scare when I totally zoned out and gave up steering halfway through a corner, so I was too wary of doing something daft and ruining your race to get close.TCrouch wrote:Sorry for Adam, Zeppo, and Alex having to slow down and figure out what to do around my fishtailing, zig-zagging car.

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
I think I spun out 5 times last night, so nothing you would have done would have ruined my race any worse than my stick skills did on their own
I just hate being "the unpredictable" one. I don't mind getting smoked or lapped, but that tense "sh*t sh*t sh*t can I keep this thing on the track and not kill anybody" feeling drives me nuts.

I kid, I kid; you know I love you Alex

Yo beat me to it Zep!
Terry, at no time did you affect my race. I did see you spin once.
Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Would anyone want to race tonight? I'm thinking Brazil in modern cars to start. After that maybe some 80s action if I can stay awake.
I'd like to start as close to 10 pm est as we can - I'm sure I'll be sleepy.
Who's in?

In, as long as the Syracuse-Indiana game is over.

I've just started on some new medicine that will either make me permanently drowsy or an insomniac. I am therefore either a definite no or a definite yes.
I intend to be there but if I'm not around come game time, set off without me.

Sorry lads, my lights went out about 11:30 my time and I slept straight through all 3 of the alarms I'd set for race time. Apparently I'll get used to these meds fairly quickly so it shouldn't be an ongoing problem, fingers crossed.
Hope it was a good one.

Re: F1 2013 Race Night
Folks:
Here we are on another Tuesday, and I'm itching to race. In honor of John, I thnk PK should select the cars and track for tonight if he wants. I promise not to be a dick and forget to put the AI cars on the track this time.
This would be the first time ever I'll be racing PK without John in the room.
For now we will stick to Rules and Flags set to the medium setting so we can avoid ludicrous penalties. Otherwise we will do the normal settings.
I'd like to start at 10 pm est. Who's in? If we feel up to it and get off to a quick start, perhaps we can run a second race.
If we get a small group again tonight, if like to try to find a better night of the week. We had Dave, Don, I think even FIFA show up for our first game night when it came out. Also J. Cauthen now has his wheel sorted out and is enthusiastic to race. I'd love to find a night when those guys can join us now that the patch has fixed the permissions problems. It's so much more fun with more people.
