That's a 2 games suspension if I were Shanny.

I think two is low. Until you start laying down the freaking law, these guys will continue to do this s***.
True, but Shanny is going with the 'he hasn't been suspended crap excuse' before and from what I understand is a phone hearing too.

Haa, 15 games for the so called tough guy. Good for Shanny. The Bruins are in town and personally, I would have liked the goon in the lineup, it's going to be a fun nite at the Rog tonight. Expect some fireworks for sure.

What fireworks? Bruins have no fighters left..Lucic and Chara rarely fight plus the entire Bruins team is sick with the flu

'Nucks fans will always remember the rat Marchand using one of the Sedins head as a punching bag. And you're right VAN won't have any BITE in them tonight since Burrows is gone for a month.

Was that before or after the Canucks player tried to bite someone's finger?

Bruins statement:

BOSTON, MA -- The Bruins issued the following statements on Saturday, December 14 in regards to the NHL's decision to suspend Bruins forward Shawn Thornton 15 games.

Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli's statement:

"We respect the process including the ability to attend and present our case in person. At this time, we will decline comment until the process is complete and Shawn has exhausted all rights available to him."

Shawn Thornton's statement:

"I am aware of today's ruling by the NHL Department of Player Safety. I will be consulting with the Bruins, my representation and the NHLPA about next steps, and will be in a position to address the matter publicly after speaking with those parties. Until then I will have no further comment."

AHL referee wears a GoPro helmet cam, the NHL should do this.

I love this. I've been waiting on the NHL to get on board. It's also pretty interesting to see a referee manage a game.

You should hear us sometimes in our NHL OTP games, we never take penalties but always seem to get called for them. :P

Bettman holds up Thornton's appeal...I believe the Bruins are putting this in front of an arbitrator now

My favorite hockey of the, the WJC's year kicked off this morning. Canada up on Germany 6-2 heading into the 3rd as Red Wings top prospect Anthony Mantha has a hat trick. Canada also features the next great one, 16 year old Connor McDavid who's set to go #1 overall in 2015. He's a heck of a player and is NHL ready at 16.
USA plays at 10:30 am cst today. NHL network is covering the Canada and USA games.

Does the arbitrator have anything to do with hockey? Can the arbitrator lengthen the suspension? A reasonable person without bias would probably wonder why criminal charges were not filed.
