I am so trying to love this game still. I cant disagree with anyone on whats been said after the update.
Its like playing online playing against the AI, its like they want to cheese you all the time with through balls and the near post cross. 90% of crosses are to the near post, so i find myself taking a defender to cut it out and it works well most of the time but while doing so ive noticed some really weird behavior which is the biggest deal breaker to me.
I intercepted the cross but my guy didnt head it this time despite pressing x he tried to bring it down and miss controlled it so my goalie dives on it but spills it, i was first to the goalies clanger but guess what x didnt respond again, bobbled of f my guy to the forward who tapped in near post .
I cant help but feel as that incident was supposed to be a goal for the cpu but it couldnt figure out why as i was there to stop the cheese so that was how it played out same result as the engine wanted just a real ****ty cheesey way of going about it, same as when super cancel doesnt work, same as when the player in your control wont sprint so the game can play out its sequence.
Its like im not even playing sometimes why do i bother its more like an interactive movie FFS.
The game is so much more alive than Fifa and thats what i like about it but there are just too many niggles for me to get over i cant enjoy it.
So it has improved as they fixed a few things like the manual shooting and heading my game as huge framerate hits at times and i mean huge like miss how a goal was scored skipped frames im not sure if the option file im using or not havnt dug deeper yet.
I still like it better than fifa for single player.

Re: PES 2014
I just picked this up free off PS+
I never played PES before and have a very basic question: When passing, many times the player I passed to instead of possessing the ball kicks it ahead (repasses) to nowhere. How do I stop that from happening?

Dunno Pete thats a weird one. There is player momentum and a bit over done it could be that especially if your mashing sprint button. Controls where very different feeling this year also, stick with it im sure you'll get it going.

Pete - Are you pressing pass twice by any chance? If you are (or accidentally press it again) the pass will go to que and will happen when he receives it. I too downloaded it and have not seen this issue. I'm really enjoying the World Challenge DLC.

Re: PES 2014
I'd kind of written this game off in favour of Fifa but I played the 360 demo again last night and quite enjoyed it. Do you guys feel that some of the gameplay issues (shooting, goalkeepers) have been ironed out with the DLC?

Re: PES 2014
The shooting has gone too far the other way now where every shot is a rocket and on target. Goalies are better. This is all after the last patch cant vouch for the DLC havnt played much since the patch i was too disgusted with drastic changes , boggles my mind and im just about fed up with the state of these games.
Re: PES 2014
Picked it up second hand for the 360 and installed the offical patches. Definitely better keepers and shooting and seems like a much better game than it was back in October, at least offline.
