Looking forward to the Hawks-Nucks game tonight. As usual a lot of hatred among these 2 teams but also high octane hockey being played. Will Duncan Keith have an uncomfortable night after his cheap hit on D. Sedin last season?

What is it with Tampa and big little men? Conacher looks like the second coming of Marty St. Louis!
Funny I'm reading your post as Bobby Taylor is interviewing Conacher pregame before the Jets-Bolts game, and thats exactly what he said that he patterns his game after Marty. So far the Bolts have been a blast to watch,as they are lighting up the scoreboard, they gotta be close to 5 goals a game. With all the scoring though,Linback has been steady in goal, and Sami Salo has been a savior in defense, and he has upped Victor Hedman's game. Don't sleep on Tampa, they're going to be there at the end.

Despite the no call, J. Erskine should get a call from the league after his chicken wing elbow on W. Simmonds who didn't return to the game in the WAS-PHI game.

Never a dull moment in the rivalry between VAN-CHI as BC boy D. Keith was persona non grata at the Rogers arena. Tight close game as Luongo played another stellar game against the high flying Hawks.

Not too shabby for a guy that was supposed to be traded by now. Hey there's no goalie controversy in Lotus land. :)

Every time I see a player take a head in the head like that one I want ram bettmans head through a wall. No call on top of it.

It is time for a ban on head shots period.

Blues get hosed again last night in Detroit as Backes gets a 5min major on a legal hit during a 3-3 game. It never fails, especially when playing in Detroit. I take solace in knowing that the Blues are the better team and the Wings are going downhill!

Wings are getting better? They have no depth and their defense is in shambles. They will be lucky to get past Nashville for 3rd in the division, not to mention even make the playoffs. They are about 3 months away from a complete rebuild.

Detroit is definitely nearing the end of an era. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are still outstanding but they're getting old and with Lidstrom finally gone it simply will never be the same.

On the other hand, you have a team like the Flyers who simply stink this year. :(

As I stated in my previous post, the Wings are in a rebuilding mode and they should be a strong Stanley Cup contending team in about 2-3 years.

BTW, they have never failed to make the playoffs for the past 20 years and I have no doubt they will make it in this year too.

Deadwings kicking it in Columbus tonight.

They got a gift last night, and are getting their tails kicked by a bad Blue Jackets team. I feel comfortable counting them out of the playoffs this year.

Normally, the Wings are the ones that get the bad calls against them.

I guess we'll see who's prediction is correct in about 3 months.

Gotta give it up to the Rangers tonite coming in and beating the Lightning in Tampa 3-2. I think there were 3 penalties called the whole game, and both teams started thier backup goalies. Had a playoff feel to it with another sellout crowd in Tampa. Still blows my mind that the Bolts outdraw the Rays which tells me the Rays need a stadium in Tampa,,,and sorry for the threadjack. On a side note,is there a better one timer than Steven Stamkos, dude is clutch!

Come up to Raleigh...tickets for $9.99 available at everygame. and not just 10-20 tickets...hundreds.

I get primo seats, 1st row of the 3rd level, for $50 each. Nobody in front, nobody behind, (just a walkway)...they'd be $125 everywhere else.

Raise hands, those of you that thought the Ducks would be on top on their division and second overall in the western conference after 2 weeks of play.

Fellas.

I'm assuming most of you have seen this or read the story. I find this incredibly interesting... and sad all at the same time. I was watching a fight last night in the Ducks game and for the first time ever I was hoping the refs would step. There are 3 parts to the video.

I was not surprised to see at the end of the Derek Boogaard video that they mentioned Bob Probert had been diagnosed with CTE.

Bob Probert was remembered as one half of the "Bruise Brothers" with then-Red Wing teammate Joey Kocur, during the late 1980s and early 1990s. I remember a time where Probert took his role as an enforcer/protector very seriously when he came to Steve Yzerman's defense after Stevie was attacked by Sabres enforcer Kevin McGuire.

Ironically, Probert's widow, Dani, was recently quoted, "In my heart of hearts, I don’t believe fighting is what did this to Bob. It was hockey — all the checking and hits, things like that.”

Probie's widow is in denial, sadly.

The Flyers are mediocre at best this year, so I'm broadening my horizons around the league in this shortened season.

NHL gamecenter live is working out pretty well for me too. Feed quality has been good, and condensed games are pretty sweet. When in doubt, I sit down and watch a few condensed games for a half hour.
